Why Those Scams Always Work

Why Scam works so well…

Just some few days ago, I saw somebody complaining about a scam, he was a victim of.
The offer was to join a program for 17 USD and earn 100thousands of dollars within the first three months. Of course without doing anything or knowing anything.

After you encounter scams, and I lost money to some of those too, you get very careful what to join. Now just some days after the complaint, I saw the very same person writing this:
Finally, I found it and now I will put my Money where my Mouth is, only 35 Dollar to start and 5000 every month to earn, easy, fast and with no hard work….He more or less falls into the arms of another scam.
Why is that happening? Imagine in just two days everybody who looks for it can see a handful of people run inside the quick rich trap and will be scammed of their money. Imagine this around the globe, how many decent people will lose hundreds, maybe thousands of dollar to find the secret to change their lives. Life better, with riches and fortunes and all they had to do, was give their money without responsibility to somebody who promise the stars. Only if you read this now, you feel already that something like this is not possible.

Here I thought about two things that happen with a Scam actually and it makes it clear why they are working so well, and still after 10-20 years of online scams work like a charm.

1. Promising the World, the Shiny object syndrome and too good to be true urge

Most people fall for the big promise. You will change your life completely, you will never have to work a single day in your life again, you will be rich and famous, and you will never have problems again. The Secret is finally yours, join the 1% of people who always hold it back from you, know you can find out what made them rich…. And so on and so forth.

Scams promising you the stars out of the sky, they never really say though how it could work, they point out not existing experts in a non-existing company, with techniques that not work. They hire actors to play testimonials, they built up a very powerful convincing Cinderella story where only your foot fits inside the glass shoe… They shooting at you with the big guns. Earn millions…. We here at WA learned not only but know that something like that not exists.
If you read this and smile and think, yes I also do not know why it works like this good for them and never cease to work. No worries there if you learned your lesson one then you can easy dismantle such scams.

Most people still hope that all those promises are for real, as they still try to get everybody else to do their job and take responsibility for them.

Let us look what is the second part of the trap.

2. Sweet talk, very well-placed words and a perfectly invisible “spiderweb”

The big time scammer which are coming back again and again with different or similar scams are very good in influential talking, building a web of lies and promises and trap you inside it. Just before you know it, you have your credit card ready to pay.

Once inside they still promising you the world, and your “fake online balance is rising rapidly” and hey you can code anything without ever having a real value behind it, so this doesn’t mean anything right. When it comes to payout options, well, there will be a lot of difficulties and excuses, like technical errors, system faults, wrong balance option, country declarations changed, waiting times due high traffic etc…. They will keep you in and bombard you whilst you are, with new opportunities to give them your money.

Basically, they utilise your dreams and wishes against you.
I would like to write you here a short-story which will maybe clarify a little why those scams trap hundreds of people every day.

The big promise for no effort

Say hello to Johnny. Johnny was a worker his whole life. He actually still is working in a factory now, he dreams big. He wants to be rich one day, have holiday houses and travel the world. Many times he played in the Lottery and wishes for the big hit, without any luck.
Every day after work Johnny walks the same road and alleys to get to the train station and drive home. Until this one day, in one of the dark Alleys behind the factory, Johnny heard a voice.
This voice was the warmest, friendliest and amazing voices he ever had heard in his life.

He stopped walking and turned around, but nobody was there to be found. A moment later he was convinced it all was in his head. As with the next step he took, the voice reappeared. “Johnny”, it whispered. “Johnny, I know what you want most in live, I can solve all your problems, and fulfil your wildest dreams, Johnny. Just come to me”

Johnny was stunned, he did not imagine this voice. It was real and still he could not make out the source of it. He took another slow step forward, as a strange sting in his guts appeared. Something was wrong here he thought for a moment, while the Voice were calling out to him again and ensured him that everything was fine and he just needed to take another step, and all his wishes would come true. So Johnny pushed aside his gut-feeling and took the step.
The temptation to finally get all his dreams, without doing anything for them was so high that he had to risk it.

He could not finish his step, as he seems too stuck where he stands, something sticky was on his hands and legs and as more he struggled to move as more he got caught up in this invisible sticky web. He was trapped without the chance to move. As suddenly the voice appeared again, much closer this time and less warm and tempting it said. “Don’t worry Johnny, soon your problems are all over”. Johnny looked up shocked as the voice came from above this time, very close to him too. As he stared into the source of the voice 8 fist sized red eyes were staring back at him, and from the fangs just beneath the eyes was dripping acid that burned his skin. He was trapped in a giant spider’s web, and his problems were to be over for good.

The END

Thoughts and analyses

What Johnny did, was believing his dreams and wishes would come true because somebody else he never even met once was promising him they would. The best part on it was even that he would have no problems anymore at all and this without having to work for it. He just needed to walk down the same alley as he always did and everything would change.

Johnny forgot, that nothing in our world comes for free, everything has a price that has to be paid. Either it is time, effort or money. Mostly it is all three.
Johnny also forgot to remember that the clean definition of madness is this:

To repeat every day the same things and hope for a different outcome is madness ~ Albert Einstein

The more Johnny was tempted to get to the source of the secret to his dreams and wishes, the easier he avoids his feelings that something was off, and very wrong. He ignored that the place he was engaged was not at all friendly, it was off in a dark industrial sided alley with no light support. The Voice was promising far too much to somebody unknown and besides all he stepped inside the trap.

The illusion to get what he wanted without effort was simply too tempting so he even risk his own life to get it for free.

Many people are caught up in the very same situations, blaming and pointing to others for things that not work out for them, instead of taking over responsibility. They believe they got tricked into poverty or hardship and the fault is yet on another person’s or companies shoulders. It was ok for him to give power to all those people he made responsible for his situation and never even tried to change his day job into something more supporting. He was looking for the quick rich button and lost himself in dreams and wishes for the jackpot to find him. And as the Jackpot in a form of the friendliest voice appeared it was too good to be true and this voice must be trusted because finally somebody realized how much he deserved it.

This little story is showing you why those scams we encounter today online, are working so well. People tend to give themselves to much credit without taking over responsibility, therefore, they go out and expect everybody else to solve their problems and make them rich. They have no time for development and learning, and they tend to listen in to their ego’s more than others. Lectures and new Ideas are only worth their time if they come for free and if they will bring them quick money without their efforts. It is a sad truth that a society of freeloaders flush their time and money into crocks hands all the time, and it is our duty to present a true opportunity for change and growth to the world. I am not only talking about the Wealthy Affiliate, but I am talking about building those truly supporting and serving pages with the knowledge we gather here. Open the Eyes and Minds to others through continuing repeating of the truth.

There is no secret to success, there is no shortcut or fast rich guide. There is no click equals a million system. And there is no nothing to know, do and no effort program that will bring you anything but costs.

The Abundance Project, which Martin Altherr and I with the help of authorities from around our world are building up now, is a place to bring opportunity, possibility and changes on a sophisticated, stable level to people who really want a change in their lives. see there.....
All about the Mindset

Good post, I'm glad I don't like to part with my money as easily as some people. The first thing I do is search to see if it is a scam.

That is a very important ability you have there. Be cautious and take always care. You can easily figure out if something is a scam through some very sophisticated search pages like scamadvisor.com.... and others... plus if you do a little background - google - check on the owner and through forums you will get a good hunch if you have a scam or simply a bad program there... or if you should give it a try.

thank you for your comment and have an awesome day.

Thanks for this, looking back now, I'm convinced scams, shiny objects, all done for you and you earn money work mostly on lazy people, people who are afraid to work.
When l started online,l was afraid of the hard work as well as not willing to work so it made sense to pay someone to do all the work then l will just sit back and the money will come flowing in.
Yes scams and shiny objects will always be around as long as there are people willing to unknowingly spend money.

Yes indeed and the truth is, people tend to be lazy and as long somebody else can do it, so why should I right.... the other side of this coin is, there is no success or money to be found in this attitude so... either they grow up and take responsibility for their own success or they will continue to fail and fall for scam.

Great blog. You do put a lot of effort in!
Scams sure are trending. I like shiny things too. Lol.
The scam busting approach seems like a really great affiliate niche!
It was actually a too good to be true internet scam that I was first looking at. I knew something was up so searched for the answer, and that search lead me here to WA.

Awesome, this is a very good place to be here. Happy you are here.

Very well put together Stefan.
I only hope the right people read it.

You deserve my thanks and support
I believe in what you are doing

I think scammers prey on stupidity, desperation and greed.

Yes and this very successful. It is a shame that in our educational system self-reliance is not an class of its own

Great article Stefan. I can see how tempting it was at first when you just started out, knowing nothing. And probably more so if you have a big ego and thinks something will fall from the sky instead of working for it.

It's quite sad in my opinion. I did not buy into the get rich quick schemes but I did join a program that isn't very fancy that I though "is more trustworthy than others". Because it did mention it's not a get rich quick scheme, in retrospection it didn't offer any good teachings. So you gotta look out for that too.

I think it's important to grow out of the illusion and the dream of achieving your goals without working for it. The way to it is knowledge and works, really not wishful thinkings.

Thank you for this article, it helps me look more into how others are thinking and how they could be lured into such scams.

Thank you for your wonderful comment. You are absolutely right, a point is everyone who has to mention that they are not a quick rich scheme have something to hide. People have to find out if they are at the right place first, then they should join into a project and if it still works for them, then they should grab their credit card and book a membership, not before.

Hi Stefan, I like your blog article and I checked out your site it is very nice and informative, I saw Martin's face as well lol. Just to let you know and oh I hate being the informer but it's against WA's policy to add our website links on our WA blogs. I thought you might like to know just in case somehow hits the spam button which will mean you'll lose all this content. I hope you don't mind me saying.

Thank you so much Lady May, I sincerely hope they will not vote me as spam, hopefully, the link is not caught up as catcher or trap... It is really meant to build up a deeper connection to support and serve people on their way here.

And thank you for your information.

sunny regards
