While researching a topic, I came across an excellent article that contains almost all of the information I want to present! I've decided to change my slant a bit so my article

If you feel you need to link to a source, be careful. You really do not want to send people off of your site, especially if that source is another page with affiliate links or other ads on it!

I have often had great results by saying something like:

" (name) at (another website) agrees with me on this and he/she has been at this a long time" the name can be real, of course, but the website is listed, NOT the URL.

I disagree that external links actually help you in SEO.

Remember Google (Bing, Yahoo, etc.) are looking to see how well you know the topic and how much help YOU can give the reader, so sending them away actually takes away from your 'gravitas'

Hey Laura,

I have done EXACTLY the same thing when I find a post that explains things differently and sometimes better than I have.

I've included this type of link within my text IF appropriate and I've also included a list of other's posts at the end of my post ... and titled those links as "Other's Related Posts".

The only time I list a link a source is when I've included my understanding of something that their site explained. Then ... at the end of my post, I would list those links as "Sources".

Have tried to keep up with what I were taught to do in grade school ... listing credits where credits are due.

Hope this helps you.

Hi, Laura!

Welcome back!

Referencing another source is fine and can be good SEO. Good on page SEO includes linking to an off-site source at least once. I usually link out to a source at least once on every article for SEO purposes.

The counter-balance is that you want to keep visitors on your site for as long as possible, so I suggest if you hyper-link to the source to put the reference in the bottom half of your article, below the fold. You don't permission to reference a source.

Gary

Thanks, Gary! I've had the BEST summer ever in terms of both work and play, but it's cost me a lot of time away from my sites. I'm very glad to know that citing a great source is not only permissible, but could also help me with SEO. Excellent suggestion to put it towards the bottom of my article. Onward and upward!

I'm glad you had a great summer. It's always a balancing act, but relationships and good memories are always worth the time.

Incidently, Jay aka WA username Magistudios includes a link to an off site source in his on page SEO strategy and gets great results. He teaches his strategy in this video Gary

Ever since I got my Google + account, my phone seems to have become a magnet for random pictures that I didn't take, and that only show up when I go to upload a picture that I

Wow, it pays to be alert!

Couldn't really miss all those images trying to sync a single shot from my phone! Gotta be careful with those game downloads!

Figured it out! It WAS a coincidence that I got my Google + account around the same time I downloaded a stupid game from Google Playstore.
I ended up installing ES File Explorer, also from the Playstore, opened it up, and there they were: all 1,414 images loaded onto my phone courtesy of Garden Blossoms. Selected all, and deleted. Whew! Uninstalled the game too, of course!
Back in business!

Wow, Laura, that's really strange and I don't have an answer. I use G+ all the time and have never had this happen, but I don't have a smartphone either, which might make a difference. If you don't find an answer here, you may have to contact Google.

It might be a coincidence, but it's really annoying! I've been rummaging around through my phone and through google, but haven't found any answers yet. Will keep looking...I was hoping some tech-advanced member here might be able to help! Thanks for answering.

Honestly i think that is the Google way. You will probably have to go into your drive and delete them from there.

On my phone or on my computer? They're not anywhere on my phone.

I typed in the keyword for my last article and low and behold I'm on page 1 of Google, BUT it doesn't look like anything I'd click on! How do I "pretty" this up?
Here's all

Great job, congratulations.

Congratulations!!!

Hello, I absolutely love what you've done with the website! It looks incredible :)

Thank you! My daughter the Graphic Designer helped me over the weekend!

U might be able to use Pretty Links to make your URL look a little better/shorter. It is WP plugin. Here is some training on it. Hope it helps. I use it for all my affiliate links to make then look better than just some string of code and some gobbly goop looking stuff.

Thank you! I will give this a try!

Congratulations!

Congratulations on getting on page 1.

When I type in "presto-pressure-cooker-my-go-to-pan-for-fast-healthy-meals," the About page of your website is on page 1.

I didn't see the G+ entry in the SERPs but if it's there, that's great too.

I don't think there is anything you can do to "pretty it up." It all helps your site.

Thanks for flying to help me get this, Gary! I just typed in Presto pressure cooker, and that's where I found all the gobbledegook. It's the 5th entry on the page, but do you think anyone would click on that?

I tried another one -- Easy recipe cookbooks -- and that came up on page one also (I might faint) but it looks so much nicer. It's the google plus post also, but it looks much cleaner. What did I do different?

Yes. People will click on it and it shows you're in a great niche.
