Hi WA family, hope everyone is doing well. Keeping safe and healthy.

Well, I have been away for a bit. I did miss my friends and being a part of contributing to WA.

I want to thank a few friends that took to time to send me a PM to find out how I was doing. It really meant a lot to me. I appreciate them now more than ever.

I was in a traffic accident where I lost a car that I had for more than forty years. For many, you may think it was just a car, but to me, I shared some of my fondest memories while traveling most of the USA and Canada in it. I lost a part of me.

Of course, she had a secret lover but I got to accept that. She loved the gas stations sometimes I felt more than me.

A 1975 Buick LeSabre, one of 5500 ever built with a big 455 cubic inch engine. A big car and I had to make a decision whether to hit the back of another car with 4 passengers or ditch my own car. I took to the ditch and a very large lamp post totally wrecking her. My other choice may have left someone dead. I did make the right choice, they don't build cars like they used to.

There were no airbags, just a lap belt because of the year and the fact it was a convertible. Fractured ribs and a few broken bones. Thank goodness I have a thick skull that took most of the impact of the windshield.

I could write a book about the memories that were spent in that car. But I am sure that would bore you to sleep. I will try to keep this short.

The things we have and life, in general, should never be taken for granted. It was only a car but it won me several awards. It was used in parades and weddings including my own. Those memories I will always hold close to my heart.

I thank you for letting me share my story with you. To my friends who took the time to write to me, I will be replying to your PM's and I am grateful and very appreciative of you. Thank you.

P/S: A warning I may be sharing more photographs and part of the over 40 years that this car never let me down.

Thank you all,

Your friend,

Michael

Glad that you turned out OK, and that you chose life for yourself and for others.
That car was huge. I bet if it could speak it would tell you that it appreciated the extra long life and that you took considerate care of it.
I don't know if we have the same faith but,my God says that He will spend all of eternity showing those who love and honor Him, what He has in store for them! For me at the Bema, rewards stand for believing believers, when I hear a particular. "BaRK, BaRK!!", I'll be losing it, man! Because I know what that means...
And Michael with his younger, new body, when he hears a particular honk of an "old friend," will know that means the opportunity to cruise with other believer friends, share fellowship with each other, and see new heaven and new earth, and perhaps visit other creations of our Creator.

Just Zaying my friend, the benefits are out of this world, if you know what I mean! And we love the same Dude. and His Dad.
Suzay

Hi Suzay, thank you for your beautiful message. Very much appreciated. I know I did not act alone when it came to guiding my car into a ditch and a hydro pole rather than hitting the car in front of me. I know for a fact if I hit the car in front of me there would have been fatalities but my car would not have had the same damage. Why my high power does the things He does I may never understand but I just hope for the best.

My wife and daughter were killed by a snowplow that was unable to stop at a stop sign. I still cry to this day, because I do not understand why they were taken away. Perhaps they were too beautiful and wonderful people that belonged in Heaven, protected and safe.

There you go I am crying again.

Wishing you all the very best.

Michael

got me crying too Michael. He gives and takes away, gives again in His wisdom, and takes away. So we always stand in respect of His wisdom, and He loved and created for us specifically what he gave to us. He loved them first and made them for us. In His delight He gave them to us. When they had served, He took them from us, so that we would not idolize them, and rather remember He is for us, never against us. He is our help in time of need, through all of the trials and snares of this world,
If we are ever to see them again, no matter what,we need to start the journey Romans 10; 9 &10; Greek word sozo restored what was lost, is restored for this life. But then the bulk of the evidence of the restoration has to build upon itself, inorder to take us all the way to soterion, which sweetly spoken, is to arrive safely in the Father's house. There we will need rest from the dangerous journey with the enemy trying it's best to trick us, and keep us from a legal home run.
After resting, we will find all that we love, and all that loves us.
It will be the hardest thing we ever do, making it safely home into the Father's house.
Amen!

In a split second you made the right decision that lives were more important than your car. Though it cost you dearly, you definitely made the right choice. I'm sorry that there was no saving your special vehicle, and I hope that your many memories will comfort you now and always bring a smile in the future.

Hope you heal up fast too!

Thank you so very much Jeannine. Lives are more precious than anything else. I am sure I was guided to make the right decision.
Your words are very much appreciated.

All the very best,

Michael

Oh, I’m sorry to hear about your car, Michael. I can tell how special it was to you. Sounds like it took you on some amazing adventures.

I’m glad you are okay and recovering. You made the right choice, and that lessons the pain a little, I’m sure. But grieving is still in order.

The closest I ever came to loving a vehicle was my silver Mazda minivan. My husband didn’t understand why I liked it so much and I couldn’t explain either. But I sure missed it when it was gone.

Lynn

Hi Lynn,

Thank you for your understanding words, they are very much appreciated.

I can understand your love for your Mazda minivan, some things just grow on you.

All the very best,

Michael

Hello Michael, the car is amazing and sorry for your loss. I am so happy you are okay, and the 4 passengers' lives are saved. Yes, you made the right choice. The car will always live on in you. I look forward to more photos. Really amazing car. Again, happy you are okay. Rupert.

Hi Rupert, thank you so much for your words of encouragement. They are very much appreciated. You are right that car will always live on in me.

Wishing you all the very best,

Michael

OMG, when I saw your car, I just had investigate further, my husband owned the exact same type of car and colour years ago. He too was in love with it; something I may never understand.

So sorry your beloved car is now totaled; looking forward to seeing more photos.

Melanie
