Hello my friends at WA,
Well today I was called upon by a local Ford dealership wanting to know if would be interested in doing some diagnostics on a problamatic vehicle they had been working.
My blood flows 5W20 oil, and I got really excited at the opportunity. I have been side lined due to a back injury but have been keeping up with the new technology. I have a pasion for working on anything someone else has given up on. I jumped at the chance, strapped on my back brace and was later picked up.

My blood flows 5W20 oil. I got really excited at the opportunity. I have been side lined from working in the trade I love due to a back injury but, have been keeping up with the new technologies. I have a passion for working on anything someone else has given up on. This was an opportunity to test myself. I strapped on my back brace and was ready to go. Later that morning I was picked up. I did mention my physical problems and was told all had to do was analyze the read out's from their diagnostic scanners, also listen to the other techs that were involved with said vehicle. It wasn't before long I was wearing a pair of coverall's and getting into the physical aspects of eliminating possible causes. I started working around 9:30 AM, and we as a team came to a solution to the problem around 4:00 PM. This without having to replace any costly parts. It was a great feeling. Re-incarnation for me. Sometimes it is the little thing's I over look that causes the greatest problems. The mighty oak's from little acorns grow syndrome. It was a tiny part, in an array of electronic components, that brought repairs to a standstill. My gosh I have to tell you I felt so alive when everything was resolved. My WA family is always there when I reach out for help, and I am very grateful. I got home around 7:00 PM, after having dinner with the manager and a few of the techs. It was a celebration for me. Soon as I got home, I get under the shower. The feeling I accomplished something in my otherwise mundane life was great. Sipping on a glass of the original V8 juice was nice as well. Well it wasn't long before my body started to stiffen up, and the pain started to creep in. Not nice. I am obligated to WA, on goes the computer, Yes over 300 messages, not including the ones from WA. I just wish these 300 people would visit my site and bring my traffic stats up but, oh no. Trying my best to stay from pain killers, even though prescribed. I mix my self a green tea, with some turmeric, ginger and honey. Sipping on it, I first look to see if I have any new followers and acknowledge them. Then I look to see if anyone has asked a question that I may be able to help with. It is now 10:15 PM most of the questions have been answered. I then go and look for anything personal related to me from WA. A few likes here and there which, I will acknowledge if someone has actually taken the time to write. The check marks get a like back from me. Maybe if I took a couple of (Tylenol) that would help? No, my liver reminds me it is not a good idea. I learned a long time ago that Tylenol with Codeine can be addictive. This was a lesson learned the hard way. I happen to be a recovering alcoholic and was seven years sober, when I was prescribed Tylenol with codeine after some dental work. When the prescription ran out, I had a craving for something. I missed my Tylenol 3's. It took less than a week and I was into my first beer after 7 years of sobriety soon relapsed into my alcoholic ways. Quit my job, and retired into alcoholic obvilion. I think I was a friendly drunk, my gosh everyday was a party at my place, everyone was welcome as long as they brought their own booze and some for me, let the good times, roll.

Enjoyed your story but would have liked it better if you had divided it into paragraphs

like that

Hi Rosana, I know I messed up. I tried to edit it but something as simple as that was not very cooperative. Eventually I just hit publish. I apologize for the mess it looks like.
Appreciate your comment,
Michael

Tough crowd man. 😉

A very satisfying outcome for you. Diagnostics are not always a case of plug it in and away you go. Further investigation was required and between you all, you got it sorted. Nice, I'm sure the owner was very happy as well.

Thank you your comments are appreciated. Actually the vehicle was under warranty. The dealer did not want to spend too much money. In most cases it is a replace parts until you find the defective one and justify the replacement for all the other parts. It is a terrible loop where the customer ends up paying for a lot of unnecessary parts. One of the reasons I bought my own shop.
All the best and Thank you,
Michael

I know what you mean. Luckily I have close connections with my local garage and wherever possible they try to work a 'Repair not replace' policy. Not always possible, I know. They're pretty good at keeping the customer informed about how deep the rabbit hole might go before diving down it.

Hi, I always encourage people to stick with, some one they have been dealing with and feel they can trust.
When the flat rate system came into place and tech's were getting upwards of 34 + dollars an hour, the integrity went out the window. Lets say the mechanic according to the labor rate was paid 1 hour to do a job, but he completed it in a half an hour, that is an easy 34 bucks. He is off to his other job, the scenario is the same. That means he made 64 dollars an hour. That is a good living, when you multiple it by 8.5 per day. If you worked a 12 hour shift and were able to continue that trend you are on the gravy train. Problem is pride in the job, and quality is replaced by how fast you can finish said job.
