Knowing The Point of Impact

Hope everyone is staying healthy and doing well. Just wanted to share this story with you. I feel it can be used as a reference here at WA.
A ship engine failed and no one could fix it, so they brought in a guy with 40 years experience.
He inspected the engine very carefully, top to bottom.
After looking things over, the guy reached into his bag and pulled out a small hammer.
He gently tapped something. Instantly, the engine burst back into life.
The engine was fixed!
7 Days later the owners got his bill for $10,000.
"What?!" the owners said. "You hardly did anything. Send us an itemized bill."
The reply simply said:
Tapping with a hammer: $2
Knowing where to tap: $9,998
So how does this apply. It is about gaining experience through the tutorials, the lessons and learning from other WA members comments. Recently I have been spending time in the live chat room, sometimes just using it as a learning platform, and to build friendships. My gosh the knowledge shared here is incredible. I know the members have not had 40 years experience, but they sure know what to do to get our engines burst into life.
You can not put a price tag on knowledge.
I think it is important not to feel discouraged when we feel stuck, ask the question to get your engine running. Knowing where to tap could be your key to opening doors to your success.

That's such a funny story, Michael, I'm still laughing. I'm going to use it too. Thanks also for the bit about the live chat rooms. I didn't even know this existed. I still have so much to learn. I will go there for sure.
Meanwhile, you have a great week, and keep up the habit of eating well. Listen, try and find the salt and vinegar roasted lentils. They are so good and 1/4 cup will give you up to 7 grams of protein and all sorts of other benefits.💐
Hi Joss, I think you will find the live chat rooms very friendly and beneficial. There is always a new lesson to be learned everyday at least for me.
It is interesting you mentioned lentils, as I made my self a pot of them, and had them for dinner with just a touch of salt. Not bad. I miss my steaks though :)

What helps a lot of people is calling it a piece of a beautiful cow. My uncle had a farm and the cows would remember me when I visited them. They are affectionate and peaceful and worth having a life.
Sometimes remembering this helps do away with the taste, meat eaters have told me. Hang tough, Michael.

I love this post. You made me laugh! Am I agree with you, the amount of knowledge here from the members is amazing. And I don't thing there is another place where knowledgeable people are so willing to share their knowledge to help those that are starting out.

I love this story and have heard a different version but with the same message.
I am a firm believer that we all have something to offer when it comes to knowledge sharing.
Sometimes I am taken aback by the depth of experience that other members have and their willingness to share.
