How Does This Work. Confused.
Hi WA family, hope everyone is doing well, staying safe and healthy.
For the longest time I have been trying to understand the ranking system. There were times I used to get quite frustrated, and in most likely hood shot out some comments that were not very well thought about. That is in the past, but I am still not quite sure how the ranking system works. I have heard things like, it is the Google algorithm. I do believe that what you put into something, should be recognized, and compensated for.
What happens when a picture does not paint a picture that is worth a thousand words that make sense. I feel if I do not understand something I need to ask questions, and perhaps I may get some clarity.
For the past little while I have been looking at the graphs, and compared them to my rank. Please I am happy with my rank, I just wonder how it is calculated.

As trivial as this may seem, I was under the impression that the numbers should reflect the rank.
Here is the only other scenario I can come up with. There were more contributions by the other members, hence from a rank of 17, I went up to a rank of 20 today. If someone out there has a better explanation, I would appreciate a comment. Are these only mere numbers. How do they all work to give a person a rank?

As long as I've been here, I do NOT profess to know how it works. I don't think Google has anything to do with it though. I'd guess it was an internal WA algorithm that is based on the number of people participating in the platform on any given day. My guess.

Hiya Michael, to be honest with you I haven’t noticed the ranking until it was pointed out in level 2 lesson 10. I didn’t even know I could open it until then. My regret is not noticing my rank from the very beginning. I don’t know how it works.
