Avoiding Eye Strain and Fatigue

Hi WA family, hope everyone is doing well, staying safe and healthy.

Most of us spend several hours looking at our computer monitor while we are on this journey to online success. I am not sure about you, but I do find my eyes tearing at times. I do feel the strain. Some of us use modified glasses, and screens for our monitors. In most cases this helps. There are other things we may do to protect our eyes, and keep them healthy. This post is to give you a few ideas to keep your eyes healthy.

Almonds, sunflower seeds and whatever you choose, you can always munch on while you are working at your computer. Last night I watched Jay's webinar about writing a review in Block Editor. Well the topic of the review was standing desks. The CDC has outlined that sitting is the new smoking, and I did do a post on that topic. Another health issue, please take some breaks from sitting.

We will all reach that destination and we will celebrate our success here at WA if we are persistent, and determined to achieve our goals. Please let us not neglect our health in this process.

Thank you for reading,

All the best,

Michael

I've long held the belief that since I started wearing glasses for computer work, my eyes have deteriorated.
Knowing which foods out there will help them is priceless, thank you Michael.

Thank you for commenting Twack. I think every little bit we can do to stay healthy, maintain good eyesight is worth talking about.

Michael

Definitely agree, totally. I think they are overlooked when it comes to nutrition.

Thanks for the food images above. Glad to see a lot of them are on my diet. I had no idea so many of them were good for the eyes. Thanks for the education.

We have been concerned about our eyes since we look at the screen a lot. We use a 40 inch TV screen as our monitor. To protect against glare we wear sun glasses. They cut down on eye strain and tiring.

How do you handle the screen glare?

Thanks again for bringing this to our attenbtion.

Hi George, thank you for commenting. I too use a TV screen as a monitor. I like using the big screen, but I make sure I maintain a fair distance from it. The pixle format is different from a computer monitor. One of the reasons we sit on our couches while watching a movie on TV.
Windows 10 has a dimming feature that does help. As long as you do not sit too close to your TV/computer monitor.

Best wishes,
Michael

Thanks

100% agree.....get and MOVE at least every 2 hours.I have been guilty myself
Here is to better health

Thank you for commenting Cathy. There are certain exercises you can do while you are still sitting, but the best is to move around every hour or so.

All the best,
Michael

Some very good advice and a good reminder, thank you Michael. I need to add oysters and Kale to my diet. Thank you for the tip.

Hi Tj, thank you for commenting. I am not too fond of oysters unless they come with a pearl. Kale is rated as a super food which would be good to add to anyones diet.

Michael

Thanks Michael! I eat most of those foods already! Except oysters. Ick!
And I take a break from sitting regularly, mostly because of my chronic pain.
Yes, we need to take care of our health. Succeeding here will mean nothing if we aren't healthy enough to enjoy it.
Take care,
Barbara

Hi Barbara, thank you for commenting. Glad you are eating healthy and taking breaks from sitting. You are absolutely right success without health is hard to enjoy.
