Hello my good friends of WA. I am facing a challenge of becoming a cook to survive without living on fast foods and TV dinners which is high in sodium which is a bad item for older seniors to have.

I have done my research on healthy eating and I purchased myself a big boss rapid wave cooker, so I am in the process of learning how to best use it to and not haft to cook with oils and other items I don't need.

This is a combination of a regular oven and an air fryer process. That would be just what I need to eat well and have a simple process to fix it.

The only thing is the recipes book that came with it does not have a lot of easy recipes to choose from. That puts me in the position to haft to make my own recipes by experience. My wife will be my person to try this food and at that time I will know if I done good or bad very quickly

I don't know if you need to pray for her or me.

If anyone uses one of these ovens and has some simple recipes, I would like to see them and try them out.

I love making sweet potato fries or brussel sprouts in my air fryer. Chicken tenders are delicious too. I just search online for recipes; there are countless ones! I usually pick ones with the fewest ingredients, just some spices, to keep the calories low. Then I can wash my air fryer in the dishwasher. Nothing better!

sounds great, I like sweet potato's , never tried to make fries, I will try online for recipes , I thank you very much for the information. I will be passing a long some of my experiences if they turn out good. I appreciate you sharing with me. wishing you a blessed day

It's an excellent thing to do. I don't like salt at all and can taste the tiniest amounts in food. To me, it takes away the natural taste of food.
Didn't you get a recipe book with your rapid wave cooker?
If you like junk food that are many easy recipes for healthy versions.
Why not just cook a variety of vegetables and meat to start. If they are portions of chicken, you can add vegetables all around them, to cook together. Or roast veggies separately.
I think you will be surprised at how much better real food tastes.

sounds good, looking forward to experiencing some of these recipes. no salt would be a good deal for us. thanks for your suggestion. have a blessed day

Good luck.

I had one of those! I loved it! Pretty much anything you cook normally you can cook in the boss! I fixed steak on the lower rack while letting the vegies cook on the upper teir. All you really need is the temperature booklet. It helps you guage what temperature to set certain foods. I fixed broiled chicken ( my families favorite) from an old Betty Crocker cookbook! It is not the easiest to remove the food though unless you have tongs! I would still have it if it hadn't quit on me...It was several years old and at that time it was a Sharper Image brand. I called the company and they sent me a big boss. I used it for some time until we had a serge and it to, quit.

the recipie for the broiled chicken is

1 stick of butter
1/4 c vegetable oil (I used olive oil)
2Tblsp lemon juice
2 tsp salt you can use low sodium if needed
2 tsp sugar
1/2 tsp paprika
1/2 tsp ground ginger
1 small onion finley chopped ( I used onion powder about a tsp)
1 medium clove of garlic (i used garlic powder about a 1/4 tsp)

Melt the butter in a dish (I used a pryex picture) Mix these together to create a sauce.
place your chicken in on the lower rack brush with sauce and set at 400 for about 15 min 30 if frozen.
once the timer goes off, turn chicken with tongs and cook another 15 to 30 min until it is
golden brown . I used dark meat that is what my family prefers. If you use white meat you may need to adjust the the time to a max of 20 minutes and lower the temp to 375.

The best thing about this cooker is that all the oils are left in the bottom of the glass bowl. You get all the taste and none of the grease and unhealthy things. If you got an air basket, you can make simple snacks like popcorn cauliflower. You can even reheat food from resteraunts and it tastes just like when they served it! I am certain once you get used to it you will love it!

Well, That's my experience. Hope it helps!

I am trying this Tina, have a similar cooker - you are a saint, such simple and delicious recipes make cooking to die for 🙀👍

yes, that is what I am looking forward to, my wife and I are on a low sodium diet and we are tryng to develop some recipes that uses other spices that will replace fats and sodium. will share what we come up with.

thank you very much for sharing the recipe and your experience with the big boss, thiis is a new challenge for me and we will make it through the learning curve. I will be posting my experiences as we go through this process, thanks again and have a blessed day

I’ve never even heard of this one until now. It looks high tech and pretty since it lets you see the food cooking.

I just searched for a recipe book. This is the book that came up: https://static1.squarespace.com/static/54906cf1e4b010469cda1c90/t/54919c82e4b040d63fb1bce7/1418828930903/BIG+BOSS+OVAL+RAPID+WAVE+OVEN+RECIPE+BOOK.pdf

I’d start really basic, like with a ham steak or a meatloaf and potatoes to see how it goes. I’m sure you’ll have fun with it.

Thanks for sharing a new kitchen appliance!

thanks for the book information, I will ckeck it out , it might give me more ideas. wishing you the best , as always.
