Work Smart Not Hard - Simple Content Production Process I Use

Now what I am about to share may seem obvious and you may already be doing it. But if not this can be a real-time saver and speed up your content production process.

Content, we all have to create it. And yes it's a process. And that's why I use templates that I have created. I have a listicle template, a review template, a how-to template, a versus template, a best of template, etc.

I also plan out my content 30 days out. You could do it for 2 weeks, 1 week, whatever works for you. But for me, it's 30 days.

And here's what I do when doing that.

Of course, I do my keyword research to be sure I am targeting low-hanging fruit keyword(s).

Then what I do is I go into my website dashboard and I create drafts using the keyword(s) as the title of all the content that I am planning to do for the next 30 days.

But I also save myself even more time by setting common features within each draft. I choose the template I'm going to use, and I customize my post title which includes my keyword(s).

I create my custom meta description, I upload a featured image, and I include my focus keyphrase. And if I have it outlined I will include the introduction.

I also include any notes regarding that particular post. Once that's done.

All I have to do is go through each prepared post and write the content. I personally don't type. I use Dragon Naturally Speaking and dictate my content. I can dictate a 2000-word post in about 15 to 20 minutes on average.

Now I just have to go back and edit and make it look pretty (pictures, graphs, etc). I'm typically creating 2000 to 2500 word posts fully edited in about 2 to 2 1/2 hours or so.

So now I will take the week and produce all my content. Once done I now have what I call my content cushion. So this way I am not always under the gun to create content.

I could take a week off without creating any content and still have content being published without missing a beat because my content is scheduled to automatically publish.

And I can achieve that because I have set everything up in advance so I can work as efficiently as possible.

Now just rinse and repeat.

Hope this tip helps you speed up your content production.

I believe in you!

Leo, thank you for sharing such a detailed outline! I am about to start using a speech to text app on my iPhone, to create my articles, yet I was not sure how to get the key points started before I do the actual dictations.

I'll be following your steps, it sounds like a great system you have setup!

Create bullet points (talking points). Make these the sub-headings of each paragraph in your article. Now simply talk about each talking point.

Thank you! I am currently following Parthas lessons on a new blog, just got 50 great titles added. I will now be combining your methods with his, to start creating the actual content!

I tested my iPhone on the content creation platform here, and WOW it does a great job with the speech to text conversion.

Sounds like a fantastic system you have created for yourself Leo, haven't yet tried the dictation tech available to us out there yet, but from what I have read it could be a game changer for those of us who just type with two fingers!!

Research is still the biggest consumer of my time though...

Take care my friend and keep on succeeding!

Nothing wrong with us 2 finger typists mate LOL!!

Yeah research for me still takes time. It's because I'm a four-finger typer (I up-graded from 2) that I started using dictation - LOL

Absolutely not mate!!

Sounds like a great plan Leo, I will have to give it a try!

Thank you. These are some applicable hints. I appreciate them.

You're weclome

Those are some excellent suggestions, Leo and it sounds like it really works well for you. Do you have any suggestions for how to speed up the research portion in order to speed up the writing process on a topic? I find that an arduous part of the content process.

Susan

I let you know when the research process gets faster - LOL. Still takes time,
