Unless you've haven't been around much or you've ignored blog post notifications regarding Partha's view of doing keyword research and ranking.
You best start listening to what he has to say.
Now what he has been talking about when doing keyword research and getting ranked quickly and at the top of the search engines is when doing your research make sure to head to Google and check your competition.
And what you're looking for is keywords that show results on the first pages that include sites like Quora, Reddit, and so on. And the more the better.
The reason being is Google is telling you that it could not find content that fulfilled the search request so here are the best results until something better gets created. I'm paraphrasing what Partha is saying.
Now the more results from those types of sites gives more opportunities to rank on the first page for the keyword term you're researching.
Now aA while back I asked Partha, following your premise if a search term only shows 1 of these sites, Quora, for example, should you write content around the keyword?
He said he prefers to find terms with more than one of these sites as it does give you more opportunities to rank, but you could still write content if just one of these sites appears in the search results.
So I took that as a yes. And I did write some content around a search term that only showed one site and it was Quora.
I wrote this post on June 29th and today is July 6th. And my post just hit page 1 spot 9 on Google. And page 1 spot 1 on both Bing and Yahoo. So yeah, you can rank if you create great content with just 1 of these types of sites showing in the search results.
I do want to add I also checked the domain authority of the other sites that were ranking and they were low enough to be able to compete with. I wouldn't have written the content if the other sites were big authority sites.
But still, you can get content to rank if only 1 of these types of sites is in the search results.
And here's just one more reason why I love Wealthy Affiliate. Without being a member here I would not have been privy to this type of out-of-the-box keyword research thinking.

I have not yet tried Partha's keyword approach but working on it. This week, too many issues are popping up with me regarding my health. I lack the focus. I am experiencing severe fatigue due to a lack of sleep due to the Holiday fireworks blasting. Even though I am Deaf, I still could hear the loud booms of fireworks.
My sleep schedule is all messed up. The staffing here at my assistant living was and still is very short this week (4th Holiday, people are taking vacations this week). Nobody wants to work. It is a struggle for us residents who depend on our caregivers to provide care for us. We have a total of 89 residents in my building and four floors. I am on the second floor.
You are correct that ParthaB got it down pat; he knows what works. I need to get into this. I can see that it works. I am glad you found out from making his suggestion that it worked for you to get ranked.
First and foremost focus on your health - and then you can get back to things.
