Google Page 1 With Two Old Articles

I have two websites hosted at Wealthy Affiliate. I started one last September as I didn't know what niche to choose so I started with Boot Camp and registered a domain with my namesurname dot com. My first article was about the so-called opportunity the review of which led me to WA. Then I wrote a couple of articles about Wealthy Affiliate, affiliate marketing, language learning apps and other stuff.

I found out the first article I wrote in September is position 8 page 1 in google.

I wrote a review about Dave's and Heidi's Digital Marketing Launchpad which has also landed on page 1, position 5 in google.

All in all, there are 16 articles on this site and there is some traffic. Average position in GSC says 13.

I put this site on hold when I started my new website in January. The new website was meant to be about my life-long passion. After 3 months of dilligent posting I found out that nutrition and health is darn hard to rank if you are not a doctor or licensed nutritionist. Even keywords that look good in Jaaxy didn't bring results.

I thought articles about skincare might do better. But there seem to be too much competition also. Maybe I wasn't able to find the gems in jaaxy but I tried hard.

There are 37 articles on this website and the traffic is poor. Average position in GSC is 45.

Now I'm looking at the two sites and thinking what to do. They both look nice but the first one seems to be succeeding better.

If I continue with the beauty/anti-aging site, I would love to write articles about superfoods, essential oils and such things, not reviews of skincare or haircare products but it seems like I have no chance to rank and monetize the site with natural products.

I'll be happy to hear your insights. There's so much wisdom and knowledge on this platform so I would like to know what you think. What would you do if you were in my shoes?

Love

Hey,

Aaaah so you are ranking!! lols

After all the work you have done follows your intellect. What's done is done and perhaps a pro-con sheet in front of you may help you to a clearer position.....
Can I manage both considering the amount of work is a critical question to my mind here....;

Yeah, imagine that! :) I'm ranking. Well, I think one post a week on both sites is manageable, the question is what to write about. But I've got some ideas now after reading the comments, let's see how it goes.
Thanks for stopping by, Rami.

Youre most welcome Lenka...;)

Firstly, congratulations on getting those articles ranked! It's very difficult to know what to suggest, but whatever niche you choose you must be able to write plenty of content. My niche is cats and one that I am very passionate about. Writing content is easy for me and I'm always able to find plenty of good keywords using jaaxy. Healthcare is a difficult one, but you'd need to find an area that's not too competitive and doesn't require a lot of medical information. Kathy

It is difficult Kathy and so is natural skincare. You have a nice niche, I had several cats as well.
Thanks for stopping by.

Hi Lenka
Congratulations on your rankings 👏.
I’m afraid I don’t have good advice for you at this point.
I started with an MMO niche and it’s been tough getting traffic.

Five months ago I started another website about Morton’s Neuroma, basically giving tips on how to live with the condition of you don’t want surgery. I’m not a doctor so, sometimes it’s tough coming up with content.

Hi Jane,
coming up with content is actually the toughest thing for me at the moment. SEO is easy once you learn the principles but writing quality content is a challenge.
But I'm sure we'll find our way. Time does matter for every website so I believe it will only get better.

Hi! Nice to know some old posts can come back to life. You never can tell, can you?

It seems to me that many categories are hard to rank because there is so much competition. I have a similar problem, with both my websites. It seems to me the only answer is to research your competition and then try to write a better article. If you work at improvement, eventually it should show some results.

Hi Fran, thanks for stopping by. It's true, such a surprise when you don't expect it is nice.
It seems to me also that everything was written already, so much competition. Studying the competition might be the solution, never tried that but it sounds reasonable.
