Back to basics i.e. to what Kyle says

I was thinking about how to improve my ranking yesterday. As I haven't hit the first page in google with any article yet, my traffic is very poor. I'm not bothered about sales, I just want to understand all principles correctly and build a solid base that will improve in time.

I can see the ranking slowly improving. But the traffic is poor and I was wondering: could I do something that would improve the ranking faster? What about backlinks? What about making the articles longer? (Most of my articles are around 900 words, if I'm over 1000 I'm in awe myself).

But what if there isn't anything I could do better? The website is only 3 months old. The number of articles there is small. Fifteen, I think. That's not much. What would I expect then?! There are websites that are several years old and mine is only a baby.

I remembered Kyle's training videos saying it took him such a long time just to set up his first website. His advice always is we shall just keep writing content that helps people. That's the only thing that matters. And I agree, it is really simple when you think about it.

That are the basics.

Just keep writing!

In small steps, here is what you (and I) have to do:

1. Decide what your next article should be about
2. Do your research regarding the topic
3. Choose a good keyword for the article
4. Write the new article
5. Set up perfect SEO for the article
6. Repeat the process

I have to admit I'm not one of those who churn out content every day or several times a week. I know it's best to do so and I would love to but for now, all I can do is publish once a week. I'm a special case always starting to write when I least expect it :)

But I guess it's still better to write one article a week than nothing, isn't it? No matter what your writing abilities are, you HAVE TO WRITE.

This is the basics. Don't look for any miraculous solutions and be patient. There are a few other things that

can improve your ranking but nothing can beat adding content. If you don't have content, you have nothing to work on, nothing to improve.

Just be aware of this simple truth. Every time you start doubting if the process works, if you really can succeed etc., ask yourself: Do I have enough content on my website? Do I keep on writing regularly?

Wish you a lot of inspiration in your writing for all 2020!

Love

Lenka

Ok Lenka , this is my view on this situations. I am not an expert. I also have difficulties writing. I want you to know that! When I am reading someone post , it first have to capture my interest, then it has to teach me something. If the article is to long I will get bore and not finish it. Perhaps I don’t understand how the system works. When ever I get started on my post I will make them short and to the point , because there must be many people out there that feel the same way I feel.
Like I said this is how I feel. Not what I know!

I feel the same way.
The problem is, Google doesn't like thin content.
This can harm your SEO

I hope you don’t mind me asking, because I don’t know. How can it hurt , what kind of damage are we talking about.? I need to know so I can avoid problems in the future . Thank you for bringing that point up to me!

Hi Lydia,

I think it's better if I forward the article to you because it's actually quite a broad topic. You can reply with your email address or send it via private message

Sonny

I am not sure I will know how to do that . I have to figure out how to learn more about this issue., It’s important to know.
Thank for trying to help me. It’s greatly appreciated!

Great post-Lenka!

I am also 3 months in and I've struggled with writing too! I try my best to write 2 articles per week and hoping I can start writing 3 per week very soon.

I do write over 1,000 words but I also believe that if the article is too long, people may not be interested in reading the whole thing!

I say writing great quality articles probably beats writing just for the sake of having content, but who am I to know? I'm a newbie:)

I just try our best because that's all we can really do and give our websites time to rank in google.

Kyle says it will happen so don't worry! Just continue with the training.

I'm just going to take his word for it and believe him because he is the expert:)

All the best Lenka and Happy New Year to you:)

Miranda:)

Miranda, thank you for sharing! Yeah, we just have to trust Kyle, I believe he knows best after being in the online business for almost 20 years. I also keep telling to myself that until my website is one year old, it is like a baby for google. There are so many websites out there with hundreds of articles and years of existence so we need to prove we are serious and keep on!
All the best to in 2020, Miranda!

That's right on! We will get there Lenka😁❤

Everyone is different. I have not gotten as far as you yet but the training suggest that "low hanging fruit" keywords, offering comments to others so that you can get comments back. To me this is one of the most important items is establishing one's self in the blogging world, traffic. Think about your audience, are you talking to the right audience, are you talking to them or over/under to them. To me this is the most important time to get recognized and gain traffic. The only way to do that is to tinker with your sight and analyze different stats to help you figure out what you are doing, which happens to be my goal for 2020. I was never a social butterfly because I put all my time into work, so I am starting from ground "zero" with traffic. But I will do everything I can to change that. I know you can make it and I will to. Best to you.

Thank you for your thoughts, Edward!
All the best in 2020, I'm sure you will find your way how to approach it all.

Just keep writing Lenka, and your traffic will improve.
Jay, in his training this past Friday, shared a great idea how to find post ideas and keywords to keep you busy the whole year.
If you didn't get to watch it I would encourage you to take the time this week.
Have a blessed new year.
Ray

Thank you very much, Ray, I'm listening to it right now (after your advice). I believe there is a reason for everything and you mentioning Jay's video in your comment must have some meaning for me.
Blessings!

Hi, my website is 7 months old with 45 posts. My daily traffic is still below 10.
I made few sales ($19) this month but that's probably because of the holiday season.
I am trying to get to 100 posts and my guess is that it will take another 6 months.
I just focus on that right now with consistency.
All the best.
Fred

Fred, thank you very much for sharing! You are right the focus has to be on long term, on the vision.
All the best in 2020!

Sounds like normal progress to me. You're doing great, keep it up! My website is the same age as yours and I have 52 posts. I made 3 sales in December and earned like $3, but I'm still excited because these were my first sales.
