A Little Here, A Little There.
So you've put together your website, written a ton of content, added some ads and you're just waiting on the traffic to roll in.
1 view, 10 views, maybe 100 views.
You're analytic dashboard isn't quite keeping the upward angle you were hoping to see...and you begin to ask yourself, "Did I do something wrong?"
You followed all the directions, yet you don't seem to be getting the traffic you were expecting. Maybe it was a site you started to build before WA and you thought you did a good job of revamping everything to bring it "up to code" with the training you were checking off as you went.
Or did you?
Did you have a bunch of menu tabs, categories and tags that just didn't make that much sense, or didn't have any relation to your keywords? Was your content natural in style to attract your target audience? Were you ads relevant? Were they visible to your customers?
Well, maybe this is just my scenario. I have had a site branded to myself on the web for almost 2 years now, with some relevant content, some old and some new. I had banner ads that went with my theme, etc. etc.
But was it "optimized"? After taking a second look while going through the WA training...NOT as well as I had thought.
So I broke it down.
I removed a bunch of menu tabs.
I deleted a bunch of categories.
I made a more simple, thinned out theme to the entire site.
I delete some old articles.
I posted some new content.
I shared my stuff on G+, Twitter, FB and I'm about to send out an email blast...
The result?
"A pic is worth a 1000 views, no wait, make that 2000 views!"
My average views were in the hundreds. On May 16th, I began my edits and tweaked my entire site in an effort to make it leaner, meaner and better.
Looks like the work could pay off!
Moral? If it ain't broke, don't fix it...if it is broke...DO something about it!
Never feel that what you did was "wrong", it's all a learning experience. But also never feel that it can't be rearranged, reworked or redone to make it something even more interesting to your viewers!
Keep building those sites and bring on the views!
(Now to work on the clicks!)
Caio!

I'm convinced that unless you're a pro, your website will always be evolving into something better. Nice job!
