How exercise helps you stay focused

There is absolutely no doubt that exercising helps with focus, I can tell you now, I know without it, I’d be as useless as a screen door on a submarine.

I have always been one for trying to live a healthy life, eating right most of the time and exercising. I’ve been exercising since I was 4 years old, actually ran my very first race at that age! HAHAHA!

Here’s the thing, and you probably won’t believe me when I tell you, but I am an EXTREMELY lazy person and I also suffer from depression! Yip, without exercise I know I probably wouldn’t be able to even get out of bed in the mornings! But after I’ve done exercise I’m motivated and rearing to go.

I will give you a really simple and to the point explanation as to why exercise makes you feel more energized and well.. Why it’s just a good thing for you to do. I could really go into depth with this, but I don’t want to bore you.

Exercise helps maintain healthy blood pressure, improves energy levels, lowers stress and anxiety levels, it helps in the prevention of heart disease, strokes and diabetes, it also makes you feel good about yourself, for me, I like the feeling of being fit and strong and therefore because of it I don’t think I look too bad for a 40 year old.

Simply put, in a nutshell due to all these key factors it helps keep me motivated, energized and positive and this allows me to function and stay focused.

My advice, find an activity you enjoy doing and do it. It will change your life.

If you find something you really enjoy doing, you'll find it easy to get up, also starting something is difficult, but once you get into a routine, you'll be golden.

Give it a bash, even if its just something twice a week to start.

LoL!! Well I'll have you know, that's generally everyones problem! There are so many things that prevent us from taking that first step, Too tired, too stressed, not motivated, feeling lazy, we'll tell ourselves a million reasons why we cant exercise. You need to just find 1 reason to exercise!

Start with something you really really enjoy and find that 1 reason to start. Once you do, and you get into a routine, it'll change your life.


Ok I will try. I'm going to get my bike out, fill the tires and go for a ride.

I start doing sport as 7 years old and now already 40 years lifting weights. And totally agree with you!

I find that I can sit in a chair for only so long. Then I have to get up and exercise my legs. My favorite form of exercise is to run to the nearby gym and do a little strength training.

Nothing wrong with that, it's important to move around, that's the problem, most people sit at a desk all day, which is incredibly bad for you actually.

So it's a really good thing you do that.

That's fantastic!! You can do it! If I can so can you, find something you really enjoy, that makes it sooo much easier, you've got to start somewhere, even if its just for 10 minutes, twice a week, build yourself up, set out small achievable weekly goals and JUST DO IT!!

Once you are in a routine, it gets better!
