Trying to understand how to obtain free images.HELP!
So I'm starting a Kpop blog, which will involve using photos of Korean pop idols from the music videos. I'm not sure how to obtain these images legally. Kyle explained screen capturing and also using royalty free images, but I've heard people say different opinions on this subject. I'm also worried about using the product images that I will be selling. How is one to know for sure if they are using images legally??
and this may sound dumb...but can we not just go to google images or just screen shot the music video? I have heard that you may need to ask permission, but I don't know how to go about contacting a record company to use an image. That seems kind crazy when I think about how many companies I will be contacting weekly just to create posts. Please PLEASE, any image advice will help!

Using the image legally requires either a) purchasing the image for commercial use, b) creating the image yourself from a public broadcast (but even this can be tricky), or c) writing to the owner of the image and requesting permission. This is just my .02, and I have been told that I am overly cautious. However as a photographer who has made more money from illegal use of my photographs that from sales, I think I know a thing or two about the subject.
