Lets Go Fishin

First, I know what you are thinking. I left the "g" off on purpose. Being from Arkansas, it is a habit even though I have't lived their for the past 23 years. We tend to leave the g out when we talk.

Affiliate marketing is a bit like fishing. Let's go fishin can mean lets get blogging. When trying to become an affiliate marketer, you will have content on the end of that fishin line instead of a worm, or what ever type of bait you might use.

Baiting The Hook

The bait on the end of that hook will be your title and you content. In order to "catch" something you want quality content. The lure is your title.

The title is what will get their attention. They are going to click that title because it has gotten their curiosity going and the want to no more.

Your reader will want to read something that is of interest, something that will be of use and help them in some way.

Most of us get into this type of business because we want to help others. Your content needs to do just that.

It can be a simple recipe or helping someone by recommending a specific tool that will tell them what is wrong with their car. Yes that is for you MechanicGirl.

The point is that no matter what your niche is or who your target audience is, their needs to be valuable content on the end of that hook, or they will jump right off.

Setting The Hook

Getting traffic to your site we all no, can be a task in itself. If you pay for it, it might not be such an issue, but I don't no because I don't pay for traffic.

Using social media is like trying to set the hook. You write a new post, click share, write something interesting in hopes someone will click on it and share it.

The purpose of this is to create more followers, get likes, tweets and +1's. I couldn't understand this for the longest time.

We are sharing and getting followers from those who are already members here. How is that going to help.

When others see that you have a high number of followers, or you have a lot of likes on a post, then they are more likely to click on it than they would be if someone had a small number.

Therefore, you want the followers and the likes, the +1's . You want as many as you can get to set that hook for those who aren't members here, but have access to what you share.

Reeling Them In

Not only do you need a great title, quality content you need call to action. I have read many blogs and post.

One of the things I have seen others write about in regard to getting sales, is the call to action.

You don't want to try to sell someone on a product or service using just your content. A majority of affiliate marketers agree you need a call to action button.

If you have managed to keep your reader interested until the end of your post, you need to let them no what you want them to do.

Although it doesn't have to be at the end of your post, you need to tell them exactly what it is that you want them to do.

No, it isn't like a demand, it is more of a "click here".

It is more along the lines of, to get started now "click here". You can come up with many call to actions especially once you get used to using them.

They say that telling your reader instead of asking them to take action, has better results. We are here to help others and to earn an income while doing so.

Using call to action may improve your sales and it may not. I would suggest giving it a try a few times to see what works for you. It might just get you that fish you are trying to catch.

No Fish Is To Small-No Fish Is To Big

Making a sale no matter the price, is still a sale. Depending on your product and the price, it might mean you need to sell a couple or you might need to sell a lot.

Your content will be what sells the most. You want your theme to be easy to navigate through and easy on the eyes, but your content is the main thing.

You want the reader to keep coming back and you want them to share your site with others, or for them to recommend you.

It your items are smaller and cheaper, chances are it will be something they may continuously buy. That will add up.

My point is, no matter what, If we do this right we can be successful. We have everything here to teach us how and then some.

We not only have the best tools, training, security and support from fellow members, we also have training from our fellow members.

We need to implement what we learn, and ask about what we are unsure of. We are the key to our success.
