How To Be A Survivor

For those of you who may have read my about me, you know that I am definitely a survivor. Not realizing it until now, but all these years I knew how to be a survivor.

Surviving my childhood, my previous marriages and the death of my husband and raising my children, all without hurting anyone or changing who I am.

I have remained a caring and loving person no matter what life has thrown at me. I will continue to do so.

I Finally Found You

I used to search and search and search online trying to find a legit business opportunity that would pay my bills and allow me to work from home and be with my children.

Loosing my husband was just the start of their challenges in life. I will spare you those details. But I needed to be home with them.

It didn't happen though until now. I only have 2 left at home now and yes they need me as well. Just not as much as the older 5 did.

I wish I had found Wealthy Affiliate in 2005. I may have been successful already and had time at home with the older ones.

Even though it took me YEARS to find it, here I am and I plan on remaining here for many years to come. As long as I do become a success story or as long as my awesome hubby can continue to pay for it

Finding My Way On This New Adventure

When I first joined Wealthy Affiliate I honestly had no idea what exactly I would have to do. I just knew I could sign up for free.

I suppose after you get burnt (scammed/taken advantage of) so many times, when you read about a legitimate affiliate program, you don't really comprehend it.

It didn't take long though until I realized what I had gotten into. Even though I had trouble in the first couple of months, I absolutely LOVED it.

I asked a TON of questions and was always given answers. Some members even included pictures to try to help me.

I would sometimes ask the same question more than once because I wasn't able to understand completely.

Then I wisened up and started taking notes. So even now, if I help someone with an issue that I don't have in my notes I will add it.

Since I am a part of the Super Wealthy Affiliate Challenge, things tend to move rather quickly even though we have a month to complete our task.

Unless you have a great memory, it is always a great idea to take notes. I just wish I had done it from the beginning. It would have made the beginning of this adventure less stressful.

How I Am Surviving Wealthy Affiliate

Thanks to the community, training and tools, I am making it through without as many questions.

I have my routine and am able to still function as the soccer mom I have always been. Thanks to Wealthy Affiliate being mobile, I am able to take it with me (providing there is internet).

There are times I will be on my tablet, my laptop and on my cell all at the same time. I am definitely dedicated.

Take a look at how far I have come.

Now if that doesn't show I love being a member of Wealthy Affiliate, then I don't know what does.

As you can tell by the image above, I still struggle with writing even though my writing stats say I do better than 98% of members.

My survival here relies on my determination, and this community. If I had to do the training alone, as easy and self-explanatory as it is. I still wouldn't make it this far in this short of time.

Being a member of the Super Wealth Affiliate Challenge has helped me advance as well due to the intensity and our task we are required to do. I still relied on the community many times.

To sum it up, determination, commitment, the community, the training and Kyle and Carson's determination on making this platform the best it can be, is how I am able to survive.

How Are You Surviving?

What has been your experience here? How are you surviving Wealthy Affiliate? How are you a survivor?

There are so many members here that we couldn't even begun to know everyone. My purpose of asking this is to find out more about YOU.

This isn't just for the ones I have come to know by name (I can't list you all as that would take me awhile). I am hoping that there will be members that I have not even met yet that will read this and respond.

I owe so much to this community, I figure this will help with getting to know some of you better, make it more about you and not just about me. After all, if/when I become successful, y'all will be part of the reason I SURVIVED.

I wish all of you the best of luck in all you do.

I have had to be at home now for a while. I love working outside of the home but am unable to do it at this time. I have an 11 and 13 year old daughters. And I Know absolutely nothing about computers. Everything takes me so much longer to accomplish.
I actually Have a fairly easy time writing content. I gather info. and with my experience in my niche my thoughts and fingers fly.
I know nothing about social media either.
At times I just want to cry and throw this laptop at the wall. And then when I finally figure it out, I feel so accomplished.
I appreciate your help.
Thank You ,
Heather

Hi Lee Ann

I just joined and finished my first 10 courses and before I decide in joining Premium, I thought I would browse some posts and came across yours. I can relate to you, some differences in that I’m not a stay at home mum (I work part time) but I did stay home with my first born for 3 years and loved it but I had to go back to work when he started school. I had my second child 8 years later and she is almost 2 yrs old and I so wish I could stay at home and spend mire time with her. I am lucky to only have to work part time but it is because childcare is so expensive that it wouldn’t be worth me going back full time. It has however put a strain on us financially and like you, for quite a few years now, I’ve been searching for legit home working opportunities. I really hope this works out for me because not only do I want to stay home for my daughter but also for my son of course and I would love to be that “soccer mom” that collects the kids from school and takes them to all their activities and watching them grow just brings me so much joy. I am a survivor though and I know that it’s going to take dedication to get the results. Reading your post has given me a bit of motivation to just go for it. So thank you and I look forward to reading all your other helpful and insightful posts.

Regards
Sandra

Hello Sandra and welcome to Wealthy Affiliate.
I know it is hard having to work when we have little ones.

They grow up so quick. When we have to work it means we loose out on WATCHING them grow. We spend more time away from them than we do with them.

Working part time may not be as bad as full time. It still makes you feel like you are missing the little things they do.

Once you get through the training and the lessons, you will find it easier to work on your site in your spare time.

Getting the training in and completing the task take some of us longer than others, but it is more time consuming. In the beginning we are learning so the process is a little slower.

If you really want to make this work, YOU CAN. It will be hard and time consuming, but you can make it work.

The main thing is not to expect to make money right off the bat. Giving it at least a year.

If your site takes off sooner than that, then it will be your reward for all the hard work you put into it.

The main thing that will get your site kicked into gear, will be writing content and getting traffic to your site.

Write, write, and write some more. The more content you get put into your site the better.

Always have a pen and paper handy or use the note app on a cell. Just make sure you have a way to write down ideas as soon as you come up with them.

Then you can check jaaxy when you can to search up keywords.
Try and come up with 30 to 50 keywords and create titles for them.

These are just some things that will make it easier for you.
If you ever have a question, please don't hesitate to ask.

I am here for you. The community will be there for you as well.
Oh and use social media.

If you don't want to bother your family and friends by using your personal accounts, make accounts for your business. That Is what I did.

But keep in touch and let me know how you are doing. If you get stuck, I will do my best to get you through it. Even if you just need someone to listen while you vent : )

You have survived everything you have went through and you can survive this as well.

Hello Lee Ann, Somewhat like you and probably many of our affiliates I have fallen for some of the scams out there.
Did I believe what I read about WA when I joined?. I'm afraid that was a healthy no.
Luckily I soon learned how wrong I was and started to follow the training. In all the sites/scams I have been a part of I have never come across the devotion I find with the Wealthy Affiliates. It is like a breath of fresh air.
Long may it continue

Derek

Derek,
Thank you for taking the time to read this.
I am glad I am not alone, well I am not glad you have fallen victim to scams, but I am glad you are here.
When we have been scammed it makes us "gun shy", but, it doesn't stop us from finding the good ones, only makes us more cautious.
I am very happy to be a part of this wonderful platform with you my friend.

Reading your post Lee Ann I was reminded of that quote which I think is attributed to the German philosopher, Friedrich Nietzsche -

"What Doesn't Kill You Makes You Stronger."

One thing I definitely know is that we're all in this together, without whom it would be very difficult to survive.

Thanks for being a critical part of the whole.:)

~Mark :)

Agree with Mark!

Another great quote that seems to suit Lee's personality:

"A quitter never wins and a winner never quits" (Think and Grow Rich, Napoleon Hill).

Thank you very much Mark.
Your quote is perfect. I think through it all, my heart and soul have the strength of all of the Kings horses and all the Kings men put together : )
Thanks to members like you, I have the strength needed to conquer and survive this new adventure with Wealthy Affiliate .

Thanks Lee, You're always a winner! :)

It takes a lot of courage and a loving family to stay true to who you are when life gives you challenges, so kudos to you!

After 2 divorces, being a single mom for years, and working a job that took me away from my kids a lot to make ends meet, I finally am lucky enough to have a wonderful husband who supports my desire for an online business. Once it becomes profitable enough, I will be able to quit my part time job and really be there for my grandson in the wonderful way my parents were there for me and my kids.

With Wealthy Affiliate I know I can make it a success, just depends on how much I'm willing to make it happen!

I enjoyed reading your great post!

Janelle

I am sorry about what you have went through.
I hope your life now remains to be a loving one filled with joy.
You deserve it.
I am pleased to have met you.
