Where do I find the host name for incoming and outgoing mail servers?

Lee

happy resolved already.

Here are your incoming and outgoing details, forwarding is the easy option, but when you reply to forwarded emails the email isn't being sent from your domain email.

Incoming:
POP Server: mail.yourdoamin.com
Port: 110
user: your@yourdomain.com
password: your email password

Outgoing:
SMTP Server: mail.yourdoamin.com
Port: 25
user: your@yourdomain.com
password: your email password
(use secure connection)

Thank you!

Welshy, Thanks so much for this information! I was able (with tech support) to set a default e-mail client. Cindy

I've been searching everywhere for this. Thank you!

Hi Welshy, these settings aren't working for me. I'm getting connection errors

You can't find it here at WA hosting. Only if you host it to another provider.

You go to your dashboard site builder - go to email and point to another existing email.
Not the same as CPanel or the likes here.

Sorry, but I'm not really following you here.

As cybridge and I are saying - you can only redirect from a site here to an external email account - hotmail, gmail etc.

Oh...got that! Thank you!

That been said.

Great Lee once again the WA own Support had helped, this must be the best support ever, everyone here know so much nice things :)

I have just done the same thing for one of my websites!
Did you update the dns settings at name cheap?
Wealthy Affiliate DNS
ns1.mywahosting.com
ns2.mywahosting.com
Once you've done this come back here and go to https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/websites and click Domains (2nd tab at the top of the page), enter your domain and click create domain.
This worked for me so I hope it helps

Thank you GregRobs. Everything worked out. Do you know how to change the password? It doesn't seem to be in Settings. Lee

Hey Lee, glad you got it working, which password are you trying to change?
Greg

The password to the email account.

Sorry Lee, I can't see how to change the password! Perhaps you could submit a support ticket, they should be able to help you with this.
If it's just a matter of being able to access your email, you should now be able to open the mail client.
Go to https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/websites, the third tab at the top takes you to your email details, highlight and copy your password then click login, paste the password and you should be in!

Thanks Greg! I'm not having an problems accessing my email account. I just want to change the default password to something I can remember without cutting and pasting. I'll do what you suggested and submit a support tickets. Thanks again!

You're welcome Lee ;-)
I think this is one of WA's great strengths, there's always somebody ready to help with our queries.

Go to your account pop up to dns settings, edit WA dns settings and then try transfer, good luck.

Submit a ticket - I have only used Bluehost, so I have not sound advice to give, but I do know tech support here is incredible and runs 24/7.

Did you transfer the domain from Namecheap to WA?

Yes and thank you for your reply! Lee

There’s been a few articles lately about whether a domain name should be keyword rich or a more brand-able name. I’m in agreement that a brand-able name may have a greater long

If you want to make them pages of one website, then you don't need to purchase the domains, just name the pages after the long tail keywords and it will work.

Thanks Michelle!

whats the difference between long-tail & just keyword search term? the length only?

The number of words.

I would definitely go for the '7 pages on one website' method, but lots of major companies create microsites using a long tail keyword - think of the "VroomeVroom.com" Renault invented for the Clio a few years ago for example - people remembered the catchphrase even if they didn't remember the car, so Renault exploited this.

Movie companies do it all the time too, think of MGM's "SkyfallTheMovie.com" for example. But at 'our level' I would stick with the one site and get as many keywords on it as possible.

When you say your main site is no.3 in a google search; a search for what, you mean the website name? I think this is where it is useful to have branding, if people get used to your name then it works - e.g. Argos or Tesco (UK major high street brands).

But there again I don't think it is that relevant unless you are, or aim to become, a famous name with hundreds of thousands of visitors.

I appreciate the detailed reply. Thanks! Lee

I have carefully followed this discussion. Since I have least knowledge on this but I would suggest to definitely consider comments of tommydillard and @rich, they are very releveant to arrive at right decision.

i

My two cents. The value of the domain name has lost much pull with Google, but it remains important to people who make a choice of which domain to click on mostly by looking and getting meaning from the name. At least I do. As far as buying all the domains and pointing them to one I am just not sure how Google looks at that. If you have really valuable content in what is pointed to, seems to me it would be okay. Not the expert here either!!

Appreciate the comment. I was thinking the same thing, but again not an expert on the subject. Lee

The best way to get a lot of traffic to your site. Is to pick a brand able domain name and create 30 or 40 long tail keyword post around it that way you would have the best of both worlds and a lot of traffic coming to your website from a whole lot of keyword phrases or words. I hope this helps everyone out.
Tommy

Thanks for the advice Tommy. Lee

I'm not sure exactly what you're trying to achieve?! I'd rather have http://www.boohoo.com than http:/www.buycheapdesignerwomensclothesonline.com It's content that ranks, not domain names, they don't even have to be relevant to the subject, otherwise http://www.amazon.com would sell South American river trips and http://www.apple.com would sell fruit! :) Rich.

Thanks for your comment Rich. But I'm not Amazon nor Apple, nor am I attempting to achieve that status. And there are many other successful internet entrepreneurs who have achieved their success by doing exactly what I've suggested.

All the content will be at the main site. I'm trying to achieve more traffic through keyword rich domain names as well as through a site with the potential of good branding.

Lee

Yup, OK, but both those co's started out in back bedrooms and garages, huh?! http://www.net-a-porter.com was the same and recently sold for $350,000,000. I'm afraid that search engines don't give much love to EMDs these days, and I checked my historical bank statements recently, I couldn't find a single EMD I'd made a purchase from. If you want to try it, by all means, however it's more likely that search engines these days will think of this as just a "spam" signal. It's content that ranks, not domain names. :) Rich.

im not an authority on the subject, but if it can. It sounds great....... im watching your space......

I trying to find the training on how to switch from the free website to your own domain, but can't seem to find it. Can anyone help? Lee

Ya.. im trying to switch my free website to my own domain. How to do that ?

it's fairly simple. first buy your domain. next you need to change the nameservers finally using the move to move your temp website to your new domain.

IZPOPhoenix: thanks, i did it :)

I went into build my website, and selected move website. There I found training on how to go about moving to your own domain.

Here it is! It is an awesome training! https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/training/transferring-from-siterubix-to-your-own-domain

Thank you! This is for what I was looking. Lee

Yep, just wanted to make sure you had both!

Thanks again. Really appreciate the time you took to help me out! Lee

This is part of the training you will need to go through. https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/training/wa-hosting-setting-up-your-domain-dns

Are you looking for the re-direct training as well?

I've done all of this. I'm looking for the training that explain how to move everything from an existing free site to a domain that I own.

Look above, 3 posts now that I have put this one on lol.

Perhaps my question is a reflection of my ignorance of the subject, but when I searched for a chosen keyword "top job interview questions" at Jaaxy.com I got these results: 509

None of these comments address the title of this post "seo power", they only adress the QSR!

Any suggestions Tyler? Lee

162 QSR means the number of competing pages for the exact phrase "top job interview questions".

When you do a google search for "top job interview questions" you have to go to the last page of google. This requires to scroll down and click on page 10. Then scroll down and click on page 15.

You keep repeating this until you get a message saying that google is showing "157 of 162 search results". It will also say something to the effect of that they have omitted similar pages.

If you want to see this in action without doing all the clicking, use the WA keyword tool and search for "top job interview questions" without the quotes. Under competition click on "View Result" and it will automatically take you to the last page.

In this case you are taken to:

***Note*** I had to break the URL to be able to post it. You'll need to remove the space before "com"

https://www.google. com/search?hl=en&q="top+job+interview+questions"&num=999&start=900&btnG=Google+Search&meta;=

and you will see that the result is 169 which is close to the 162 result Jaaxy gave you.

Hope this helps,

Thomas

Hi. Even typing in with quotes, the results is still inflated and inaccurate. The old-school method is to keep moving through the pages till you're at the last one. Type in "using quoted search results" in YouTube and click the second result. It is a video by Craig, one of our members here. Hope that helps.

I have a question about website domains. If I have a longtailed keyword which is favorable positioned and highly ranked according to Jaaxy search , will my domain with trhe same keyword get lower ranking, when hosted under siterubix (domain.siterubix.com) ?

I understand that Google comes up with all different variations of the keywords. Now if you put it with in quotation marks " " it will give you just that keyword phrase. I hope this helps you
Sincerely
Tommy

Thanks Tommy. When I closed the keywords in quotation marks the results were 392,000. Still not great in my estimation. And most people don't do a search using closed quotation marks. Lee

That so true you are welcome
