Trying To Help Our Community- Is It Legal?
So in trying to help the WA community including my self I've created two websites.
One website has motivational an inspirational quotes, to help us along the way.(mentor-quotes)
The second website was an attempt to organize my favorite training, questions and blogs where I can easily find them. ( wa-test.siterubix.com)
The problem is that I'm not sure if what I'm doing can be considered spam
This is what I'm doing occasionally:
1. When I welcome new followers I send messages like this:
"Thanks for the follow Ledrew! Welcome to Wealthy Affiliate
Motivation needs to be a part of your own life for you to be effective in conveying it to other people. - Zig Ziglar
It can be tough to stay motivated. This website was made to help mentor-quotes.com
Blessings.
David”
2. I used the affiliate link for all training, blogs, and questions. In my website wa-test.siterubix.com,
Can these two examples be labeled Spam?
Let me know what you Think.
Thank You.

Hi - I don't think it's acceptable. As others have said, it is considered spam to add any links. You would be asking people to click away from the WA site. It would be giving new members the false impression that they too can add links.
As regards, your WA directory, what if they just start clicking on random links, don't understand a word of it, because they haven't started training, and get totally overwhelmed and walk away?
Hi Dianne,
Thank you for taking time out of your busy schedule to guide me in the right direction.
I have enough to know that #1 was not allowed but #2 is allowed and makes sense to me now.
I have a long way to go but, I created the links in the directory so that I can find info easily when I need it.
Many of these links are hard to find from the search bar.

That's a good question. I wondered whether I should put my website on every email I send through the system. Not only am I questioning legality, but am I bugging people too much? So, ya, I would like to know also. RhondaLeigh
So It's wrong to put a link to any other website besides Wealthy Affiliate in your comments.

Hi Ledrew,
You've included promotion and a link to your website in your welcome letter, which isn't allowed.
We aren't permitted to "market" to other WA members (even in a welcoming, friendly way). Sending out that message could result in you being reported for spam.
Kyle has listed the rules here: Spam is a NO NO! -Laurie
I would think this is a flat NO. I mean, first of all, WA, wants us to promote WA, correct? And as far as quoting motivation speakers, or giving inspiration to others that may get stuck and demotivated, this is what we're here for right? If that is the case, then I guess, I should be off this panel, as I do this daily. I feel comfortable enough to help others who get disenchanted but want to keep going.
I would be interested to read others views.
Hi Ledrew.
Thanks for sharing!
Apparently you are not suppose to place any links inside posts here at WA.
Hi Bob
Instead of including links i Would say Something like this
The price of success is hard work, dedication to the job at hand, and the determination that whether we win or lose, we have applied the best of ourselves to the task at hand. ~Vince Lombardi
Find more quotes like this on my quotes site.
I hope this will be acceptable.

Point #1 is spam. Point #2 is not.
In regards to #1... You cannot place links to your personal website in greetings and in most comment sections here within WA, even if it is a site promoting WA.
Why?
Because you can affect SEO by getting traffic clicks coming to your website. And if your site does not promote WA, getting an affiliate sale is definitely spam.
However in regards to #2... You can place links to content (WA Blogs, Discussions and Training Tutorials) found here within the community. This is not considered spam.
Why?
Because you cannot benefit from it as far as SEO with traffic clicks, nor can you get affiliate referrals. Everyone who clicks on it are already WA members.
Thanks Robert, I appreciate your explanation, And I now have clarity on this subject.
