Online Course Income Continues to Increase - Thanks to Wealthy Affiliate Lessons Learned
Everyone comes here for different reasons.
Some are looking for information and training on Affiliate Marketing.
Others just want to figure out how to start some kind of online business.
More experienced entrepreneurs are looking for hosting and related services while plenty of people are just here for the community, and the support it offers.
Wealthy Affiliate provides all of that and so much more.
Why Are You Here?
Knowing that will help you do better - regardless of what better looks like to you.
So figure that out (and share it in the comments ; )
The reason I am here primarily is to learn how to more effectively market my SIP's (Specialized Information Products) which include many different things on many different platforms - but especially my online courses.
WA has already helped me do that very well. My online course income is consistent and it is consistently climbing. While all things are relative and some may consider my earnings to be quite a lot at the same time others making far more may consider them to be less impressive.
But that's the thing - I do not care about impressing anyone - I simply care about making more and more money from more and more opportunities which cumulatively add up to life-changing amounts.
I can say without a doubt WA has far more than done that - and as a result, WA costs me nothing yet helps me make hundreds of extra dollars each and every month that goes by. even better that amount keeps increasing - slowly - which is just fine with me!
Of course, I also enjoy the hosting and many of the other resources here as well as the community - and I have made some great friends here as well as business allies.
And yes, I have even managed to make some money with Affiliate Marketing itself - though that is not my primary objective. It is very nice too though!
A few Things to Keep In Mind
All legitimate businesses - whether online or offline - require hard work and time in almost all cases.
So when you know that going in - you are more likely to keep working at it for the amount of time it really takes vs getting mad and quitting because you aren't making those big bucks overnight as touted by the guru garbage peddlers.
So my advice to you is to forget that - and forget them - and instead focus on fundamental things that really do work!
Treat your business like a business - and not like a hobby.
Show up and do the work and keep coming back and keep doing the work - for as long as it takes.
Be careful who you choose to model - broke people can not teach you how to make money. Sorry... To put that another way, people who are not making any money at a given thing can not teach you how to make money doing things they themselves haven't yet successfully done!
Busy does not equal effective. Be careful not to spend all day in meaningless chats and groups instead of actually working on your business! Social interaction is good - and we all need it - but you have to limit it or you will spend all of your time on things that may be enjoyable (hobby) vs work that will make you money (business).
Seek to provide value (give) in all products and services you provide and all that you do. This is important - because it is not what most people do. Most people seek to take (Want what they want to GET) while offering and providing little to nothing in exchange. That is not how business works - not a long-term successful business anyway. So they are constantly looking for new customers (victims) to exploit. Provide value and you get repeat business and referrals - and there is nothing better than that ; )
Become an Alligator - That simply means develop a thick skin and do not let things, situations or other people with bad attitudes or misguided intentions distract or bother you much. You can add to that - develop selective hearing, and ignore things that do not matter.
Look for and pursue Income Production Opportunities that are in ALIGNMENT with your own goals, skills, abilities, and interests - that are also profitable.
Create more than one stream or source of income. Have many - but do it systematically and ideally sequentially as you can do so effectively. In this way, you Build Your Own Business Empire.
What that really means is that you are creating multiple sources of income over time that can all support you individually - and together can and will help you do better and better in your work, your business, and your life.
By the way, success is often not pretty. It can be messy at times and is always imperfect. Keep that in mind when you stumble, when you fall and when you fail - and you will. I have, I do and I will - but I always get back up and get back to work - and I keep getting better - and so can you too my friend!

Thank you for a great and inspiring blog post, some very true words in there.
It's great that things are coming together and your online course income continues to increase. I think it's great to be part of a training platform where we can learn and ask questions at the same time.
I remember back in the early days, (2004) I had my first broadband connection, immediately, I could see the power of the Internet! The problem that I had was that I could see that huge potential online and yet I didn't know where to start! I was literally working blind and paying money for products that didn't work. The Wealthy Affiliate training changes all that! If only I knew about Wealthy Affiliate back in 2004, it would have literally saved me thousands of pounds!
I hear you big-time about listening to the right people, we need to listen to the people who are genuinely making money and have created a successful online business.

I hope you had a great Sunday and a great weekend too. I took the day off and did absolutely nothing that I didn't really have to do other than rest and relax.
As you mentioned, becoming overwhelmed is a common thing that has happened to so many people - and continues to happen to millions more each year.
It's easy to get burned out and disillusioned when spending all kinds of money and time on things that just don't work - and on other things that can work but which are not in alignment with a particular person at a specific time.
WA is a great resource for us all to help serious people make serious progress - as you and I well know - yet everyone must still be willing to show up and do the work on their own businesses each day.

We had a nice Sunday, thank you, it's good to stop! I believe that almost doing absolutely nothing or just recharging our batteries is a great way to be productive for the rest of the week. It's easy to try and keep working, however, at some point, we need to stop and relax however much we like our job!
In the early days of being online, I was convinced that the Internet was the way forward, I could really see the internets huge potential, right to this day! I was enthusiastic and keen to release the power of the Internet, my problem was that I didn't know what to do! Wealthy Affiliate gives each member a solid plan to work to, which is fantastic.
I think realistically, the biggest problem members face is not realising how much work is involved with creating any business. It does take time and effort whether it's online or offline. The great thing about Wealthy Affiliate is that it keeps us on the right track and teach this how to create a business in the right way. I believe that many members give up far too soon.

I've also received increase confidence that allowed me to create courses and taken my learning in a new direction

Great Article
Ye mine is a new site so I can't give advice for what is successful and what isn't.
But I am learning from members here who are successful how to go about it. And the main thing I have learned is if you are strapped for cash like me and can't buy success.
You have to write your way to success which isn't a get rich quick scheme. That means putting effort into your business every day. For however long you can even if it is only an hour or so.
Once the initial site is successful you can then move on to create other income streams.
On the advice of people who have done it. The long haul it is !!!

That's a key fundamental right there Steve.
Put in the efforts that you have access to now (time and or money). Then as you gain traction and make money resist the urge to do what most do (spend it!) and instead invest it back into your business to gain leverage and make more money.
Rinse and repeat and keep doing that long enough and it gets to a point where there is enough coming in often enough to keep sustaining and growing the business and to also begin to take some of it to spend as you wish.

WHY AM I HERE?
WOW-I am here for ALL the ABOVE. I honestly have been swimming in all the online business models and literally became overwhelmed. I wanted to do all of them. FEAR OF LOSS I guess.
I am the read everything twice before doing anything type -I have taken my time a researched and read the fine print.. LOTS OF FINE PRINT.. and I feel confident enough with all the research I have done-This organization has mastered the flow of information and you just feel like your path is clear. I love the participation, that really made me feel at ease, to have everyone actively in positive conversation, make the difference for me.
IM here to map out me next steps for my new APP/combined with 12 week course for reentry services in Louisville. I want to be affiliated with every service I use within this course to be the first community action based service...FULLY sustainable without government funding or grants. Week one starts now!
Any and all first step suggestions..I'm all ears.
I will be honest I am quite new here and so is my site.
My best advice is to follow the training and write as many posts as you possibly can. This is because this is the advice the most successful people on the WA platform give.

Research.
Hi, my name is Stephen and you are in the right place.
Just like research led you here, its going to be important going forward. The more information that you have then the more of an authority you will be. Authority equals trust and trust equals audience.
Follow the courses step by step and ask questions.
Like you yourself said, this is an amazing community full of people from all over the world. They come from different cultures and occupy every level of success in online business.
They are fast and they are thorough.
As amazing as the community is, it is important to focus as much as possible on the training. Its very easy to get caught up in the comment sections.
Just always remember that you will grow and learn at your pace. You will get out what you put in so its not a sprint its a marathon.
