Amazon One Link Not Working

So recently when trying to set up Amazon One Link on my website, I found that I could not get my Amazon Links to redirect to the correct regional store.

For those who don't know, Amazon One Link is a feature with their associate program which can redirect traffic clicking on your Amazon links to their correct regional store, assuming you have signed up to the associate program in that region.

After searching through multiple forums I found I wasn’t the only person who was having this issue. Looking further into the issue I found a comment suggesting it was down to the type of Hypertext Transfer Protocol (HTTP or HTTPS) used at the start of the Amazon link.

I have since checked this on my site and found that the links created by amazon are a secure protocol (HTTPS) and are not working with One Link. However, if the link is adjusted to a non secure protocol (HTTP) they then work fine with One Link and send your traffic to the correct regional store.

I have notified the Amazon Associate Support of this issue and created a test page on my site, with the 2 different types of links, for them to use during their investigation. I also checked if changing the links provided by Amazon to HTTP affected the tracking with the support team, who confirmed that this will not have any effect, meaning we will not lose any sales by making the change.

I am currently awaiting further feedback on the issue from Amazon and I will provide an update on this as soon as I have received it. For now, I would recommend Amazon One Link users to adjust their associate links to a HTTP format, allowing traffic to still be directed to the correct regional store.

Do you need to change the http in the main embedded link at the footer of the website?

hey hi Rachel,

your question landed in the WA community for response and here we are ....

normally it is best to turn your SSL to ON ...

however, since it sounds like your question refers to an off-WA-platform function... suggest you might want to contact the involved external party for service ....

otherwise, we'd normally recommend going over to our Help Center Site Support for website assistance / service ...

all the best to you for every success, cheerio ... :)

looks like one link is not working again well at least for me, so annoying!!!
