What can I do about ranking?
Ok, I have 55 articles to date, yet only 36 of them got indexed. Why would that be?? And is there anything I can do, if I could find out the ones that didn't index, and somehow make them better?? Is there anything I can do to get those articles indexed??
Thanks in advance,
Laura

Laura, 36/55 is a pretty good average. Continue to write your articles and give the new ones a chance to be indexed.
Thanks Ms. Laura, the subject question will benefit everyone. The community's response and possible answers have helped me tremendously. I guess too befriending patience may help too!
I love this community!

In the beginning, it can take time for new content to be indexed. I just received a notification yesterday that a post I wrote a month ago finally got indexed.
But if you're still concerned, make sure you have images on your post, and your content is broken up into sections to make it easier to read. Other than that, its just time.
Laura, I know when I went through a bunch of older posts on my WA bootcamp site and corrected some keyword issues, I resubmitted each post to fetch as Google and later checked the posts for google ranking - my rankings increased dramatically - several to page 1. I had not used keywords correctly and when I fixed that, my posts started ranking well. I have created a cool post on keyword training - listing all the keyword training available here on WA - you might do as I have done and go through the training again to make sure you are using keywords correctly and then reassess each of your older posts. I'll pm you the url to my post - BTW that post ranked page one for a long time on google and is still #1 on Bing. - Shirley
Thanks for your insight; I'm going to have to revisit my posts for keyword efficiency. My website has been active since early 2016, and I'm still not getting any traffic. I've noticed that people say they get notifications of when their posts are indexed. I've never had any notifications of any kind. The only thing I have is the indication on the Manage Websites page that Google is indexing my website. Does that sound normal?
Any help would be a boon to my online health. Thanks, again, for coming to the rescue. Ted
To add tags, do I have to re-write and publish those posts??
And now I'm ready to go read the URL you sent me.
Again, thank you kindly,
Laura
Hi, Shirley, could you PM me as well, as I have some trouble with my keywords, seems I don't use them correctly.
Thank you.
Jacqueline
You can always go to Google Search Console and request indexing through Fetch as Google.
How old is your site? When my site was about 7 months old, it started to rank better and traffic started increasing every day. After about another month, I got an email saying that 8 of my articles, which were never indexed, all of a sudden got indexed by Google in one day!
Once my site had gained some authority, all of the content was looked at better by all 3 search engines. So if your site is young, it may just take a little time before your other articles get indexed.

I'm not quite 4 months. So maybe that's the issue. We'll see.
Thanks for you input hun,"Laura
You could put them straight into search console via crawl and fetch as google. Which site are you talking about
Yes, and it comes up. But when I go to my writing stats page I have 55 posts with 36 of those being indexed. So what about the 19 that didn't get indexed? Should I worry about those? Do all myposts need to be indexed? And do I have to re-write and then publish them again with tweaks, and or better keywords??
If you can fathom out which ones haven't been indexed you could fetch with google them and see if that works, no need to rewrite them until you find out why they aren't being indexed
