Wow! I did not know that!

Wow... Kyle is giving us such Gold! I was gobsmacked at how much advice and help he gave in the explanation of Month 2.

I kept thinking I did not know that as I was reading through Kyle's tutorial for the new month.

So I thought I would jot down some of the new things I learned today for the benefit of those who are not doing the Super Affiliate Challenge.

Focus 1: Writing Efficiency

I did not know that by writing One Post at a Time I was slowing myself down

I have been working on ONE POST AT A TIME instead of planning out 10 to 12 posts at a time and focusing on ONE TASK AT A TIME, the tasks being:

  • Research Keywords
  • Create Article Titles for All Keywords
  • Break Down Article Concepts and Create Headlines within Content
  • Write Content
  • Add Images

I can see how this one change: switching from one post mentality to one task mentality is going to supercharge and speed up my process.

Furthermore...

I did not know that...

My posts would get lower rankings if I used keywords that were too similiar.

I am going to re-look at my keywords for my existing posts and make sure I haven't got any duplicate keywords.

My Keyword System was way too complex.

I have not started importing keyword lists into Site Content yet. I knew about this new feature in Jaaxy, just clean forgot to try it out. Oops!

And Yes! Kyle's method of listing each Keyword and then adding "published" would be far simpler than my system of hundreds of different Excel spreadsheets with all my Keyword research (where I sometimes remember to go back to the keyword I used and add a link to the published post). Time to simplify my system.

It was a silly idea to use only your keyword as your title.

I thought if the keyword was enticing enough in itself as a headline, I could use it on it's own. Nope! I will go back and add fun elements to post titles that are just keywords.

Breaking down my articles before writing them would save me time.

I've been writing away furiously and then going back to add my headlines after writing. Time to test out a new way.

Oh my goodness! I did not know about DICTATION.

What?? 1000 word article in 8 minutes? I have to try that trick!!

Oh wow... AND

I did not know that my approach to writing was all wrong.

I thought I should write about what I know. Turns out, I actually should write about things I want to know more about so that I can learn new things along the way.

To Become an Expert Write About What you Want to Know

Now that makes so much sense to me.

The easiest posts I wrote this month were one's where I could just write off the top of my head. I didn't have to do any research whatsoever.

Yet when I look back at all the posts I've written these past 2 years, I received the most engagment (and my Amazon affiliate sales) on the posts where I had to do an immense amount of online research and then come up with a creative way to present my findings.

I've learned so much from just Kyle's first focus for the month. Imagine what I'm going to have learned by month-end.

More later. It's time to fetch my little guy from school.

Over to You

Did you also get a lot of aha moments in Kyle's Tutorial for Month 2?

Yeah, I realized when I read it that it had a lot of great tips. I was a little confused that I didn’t get a message this month with the training. I found it because someone else added the link to a post of theirs.
Grant

None of us have received an email yet, Grant. I think Kyle is probably still adding his finishing touches. His video isn't embedded his training and I noticed an image was missing too.

I noticed that. So how did the training become available?

We always had a link to Month 2, it just said Coming soon before.

Thank you for sharing.

Pleasure Cori.

Hi Lauren, I just checked out dictation and already love it. Thanks so much for sharing this!!!

Awesome Max! I can't wait to test it out. This month I am taking it a bit slower, so I follow Kyle's guidance to the letter.

I really appreciate you sharing your SWAG tips and tricks! I feel like Im right there with you :)

Thanks for sharing that Lauren, makes a bit more fun!

Wayne

Thanks Wayne!

Wow Lauren! I did not know that!!

Thank you so much for sharing all these valuable writing tips. Really grateful to get to know about all this.

I have bookmarked your post and I want to learn it by heart and practise it.

Lauren, what do you mean with Dictation? And how can it be possible to write 1000 words in 8 minutes???

:-)

Aha! That's why you have to go read Kyle's entire post. Mine is just a teaser post to get you to the real training. Hehe.
Kyle provides links so you can do dictation on any device/operating system. I clicked on the links to Microsoft as that's my operating system.
So from what I understand so far, dictation is talking into the microphone of your computer and then the computer types the post for you. It involves voice recognition and that takes some practice.

Oh, now I understand. Thank you for explaining, Lauren.

Please excuse me, I didn't realize that you have shared Kyle's entire post. Really wonderful that we "NO-Swaggers" may have a glimpse inside of the SWAG-training. I'll study this closely.

Loads of work ahead of me. Exciting!!

Greetings from a GoGetter,
;-)

Thanks Lauren, I did learn a lot from Kyle’s video and tutorial, for the first month. Have not seen month two. A lot of sound recommendations contained in the first month’s tutorial.

Awesome Harvey. Then you will love month 2. I have to admit, I only got through reading the whole of month 1 towards the end of month 1. Was such a busy month and I did everything back to front. All a learning curve.

What a great post Lauren! I share your wow moments!

With regard to the title being more than just the keyword, do you think it doesn't matter having a long title then? I'm just puzzled because the All In One SEO plugin says our titles should be short, and I've been advised by various people to respect that maximum number (I thought also by Kyle in the training, but I could be wrong). The two sets of advice can't both apply. Either it should be short (and therefore often only just the keyword) or it can be long and not worry at all about the length of the title. I've also asked this question over on Kyle's training but haven't heard a response yet.
Thanks for your great post! :)

Hi Soraya, your SEO title can be different to your Headline title. Does that help? Jay mentioned this in his recent Live training.

Oh...thank you Lauren! I'll watch Jay's training a.s.a.p. :)

There are quite a lot of 'Wow, I didn't know that' in your list for me. I haven't yet listened to Kyle's video. So I am looking forward to listening to that.

Thanks for sharing.

My pleasure Isabella. Oh yeah also looking forward to watching the video for Month 2. It isn't available yet, should be up sometime today.

What was news for me is the keyword as the title. I thought it was better to just use the keyword as your title, but obviously, it was not

Yes, that was a real eye opener for me. I still plan to use my keyword as my permalink in my URL.

Me too...:)

Thank you for sharing your Wow! ideas, it is very useful and will also adjust things to speedup pushing out quality content.

My pleasure, Tania. Happy to hear my post was useful. It was supposed to be a summary but I got a bit carried away.
