Also, a big thank you to Nicki (Brooklyn2008) - I've been meaning to change my website theme ever since I read her blog: I got 99 problems and my theme was ALL of them
I've been holding onto my theme for waaaay to long. I've known it wasn't working for ages, but I spent hours and hours learning how to make all the buttons work on Theme Rendition, and I just couldn't bring myself to let go of all that hard grind.
Yesterday I finally learnt how to create the right size picture on Canva for my header on Theme Rendition - and it looked fab off-site, but HORRIBLE on-site, and AWFUL on my smartphone. This was the final straw!
I HAD to let go of the theme I had spent hours and hours learning.
So I trawled through all the RESPONSIVE (Mobile Friendly) Free WP Themes... and finally found one I love that's easy enough for me to play with - Adventurous Theme by Catch Themes. I like it so much I'm thinking of using it for my other site as well!
The thing is... in changing my theme, I discovered that my hard work and hours spent on Theme Rendition wasn't wasted - I would be struggling with Adventurous now if I hadn't had all that prior training. NO LEARNING IS EVER WASTED.
So my lesson for today:
Or something to that effect... what I really want to express is this:
Sometimes we hold on to things for far too long for all the wrong reasons.
Take a good look at what's not working in your life, in your business, or on your website, and take a bold step in the right direction - change what you can.

PS. Oh... and also updated all my websites to WP 4.5.2 yesterday and am happy to report - no issues! Yay!

How do you manage 3 sites? It seems difficult for me. Do you have previous knowledge with building websites?

I'm really only building 2 websites (not making any changes to the siterubix site), but to be honest, I don't manage - I realised today that I last sent a Mailchimp campaign to my subscribers on 8th February! When I focus on one site, the other invariably gets forgotten. (Which is why Julie is teaching me to FOCUS). I don't have much previous experience except for building a wordpress blog site a few years back.
Have learnt soooo much more since joining Wealthy Affiliate, and I know this is just the tip of the iceberg - long way to go.
I am truly delighted that you found inspiration from my post. I know how hard it is to let go of a theme, and I still battle with myself on whether the one I have now is the right on, or if I should look for another one or, maybe just upgrade to the extended version. But at the end of the day, you don't know what works until you find out what doesn't!
I hope you have all the luck in the world with your new theme and it turns out to be exactly what you're looking for! :)

That is pretty scarry to change themes, you just never know what will happen. That's good that you took so much time to learn the first theme. Great Job!

So true Barbara... I saved it all twice before changing themes & then took a deep breath...& hoped for the best.

You had a full-on day yesterday Lauren, what with my tomes via PM and your internet connection issues. Your choice of new theme is super - clear, crisp and professional looking.
Thanks Julie. Glad you like it, I spent the whole morning resizing feature pictures to improve the look, am really happy with it now.
Hey Lauren, glad you got them all sorted out, for me I would need lots of patience on theme stuff like that, lol. ;))
Ha ha Jewel, so true!! My patience wore very thin yesterday but it was worth it in the end!
