Is this cheating?
I kind of think it is... Remember I mentioned Kyle's Recommended Site Content Goals yesterday?
So I typed in the goals yesterday morning...
And then I went back and checked after I'd published my first SWAG post on my site.
I was on 8% of my 12,000 words and 8% of the 12 Articles.
It felt great to be making progress!
And then I got 5 Guest Posts in yesterday afternoon. And 4 of them were nice long one's - over 1,000 words.
And suddenly my Stats jumped to this...
And I thought, well now...
That's just cheating!
It's not quite playing cricket, is it?
- Because I didn't write those posts. Content writers wrote the posts for me.
- I just chose a keyword and wrote a quick opening and closing paragraph for each one before publishing.
- AND I didn't even publish them on the website I'm building for the Super Affiliate Challenge.
Furthermore...
- This exercise is designed by Kyle to build our knowledge and experience.
- The end goal is teach us to become Super Affiliates... right?
- So who am I cheating if I count all my "free content" towards my Challenge?
So who am I cheating?
MYSELF!!
So... I decided this morning I have to adjust my goals accordingly.
- I have 3 Websites
- And I can count on getting a number of post provided by Guest Posters for all 3.
- So I have to TRIPLE my goals!
Eek... this is how my Goals look now...
The goal setting process is not an exact Science when you have 3 Websites and you're focusing on building one for the challenge.
But I think this is a reasonable fix. I feel I'm playing fair now.
What do you think, SWAG's?
Okay... I'd better get back to work!!! 11 more posts to write and publish for SWAG Homework.

PS. Do you think I can do it? Publish 36 posts in 3 weeks? Gulp... hope so! I'm certainly going to give it my BEST shot!

I use SiteContent but never set goals. Writing articles is very challenging for me. I better start setting goal to push myself to write more.

Hi Christine, this is the first time I've set goals too and it really gave me a great sense of achievement once I saw those circles filling up. :) Go for it!

I think you have been very honest here. Just out of interest where do you get your posts written for you and what do they cost ? If you don't want this to be common knowledge I would appreciate a PM with any advice.

You are using a skill called delegation or outsourcing.

I could see how it could work if I was delegating the work - actually hiring content writers to write posts that I prescribe.
But I don't get to choose the titles and content sent to me by these particular guest posters...which is why it feels a little off-track to me.
