Get More Comments on Your Blog using Site Comments
Do you remember the day when you received your very first comment on your first blog post?
I remember how excited I was to think that someone was reading and enjoying what I had to say. So much so that they took the time to leave an actual comment. Wow. Awesome!
So intrinsically I know how valuable comments are to me. They are an upper. An ego boost. They are confirmation I'm on the right track.
But what I hadn't really considered until I watched Kyle's latest Super Affiliate Video is how valuable they are to my readers. And to my website as a whole.
Comments Build Trust
Because for my readers, seeing a number of comments on a post builds their faith in me. And especially if I'm replying to those comments and especially if my replies are detailed and helpful.
Comments Boost Search Engine Rankings
I'll quote Kyle verbatim here:
"Rankings are greatly impacted in the search engines by comments because comments are content. I have posts that have 50,000 to 100,000 words in them because of the comments they are getting. Through time, this particular post may have over 100 comments and this can add a lot of content. Google is very drawn to that.
If content is getting that level of engagement it must be a useful article that people like.
Relevant comments are important. You will get spam comments you may want to delete. You’ll also get trolls coming to your site intending to promote their own products or services. You will probably want to avoid posting these."

Hi Lauren, I totally agree, Kyle really set us straight on how important comments are, as well as quality replies. I have been missing out by not using our site comment tool. Although I assure you that will change. Kyle has given us a lot of great ideas to help us with our month two challenge. :-) Frank
I agree wholeheartedly, Frank. I realised how weak most of my replies to comments are and learnt a lot from Kyle's training and the training Mark mentioned below (@tommo1968).

Good tactic to have in the box, getting comments is one thing but getting great comments that cause conversations and debate are exceptional and can drive a post up the serps overnight.
I have been using site comments here for the last couple of months and have gained about 300 new comments in that time. If I guess that each is 100 words long I have 30,000 words of content (30 good posts worth) added to my website. I guess 100 words but its actually more as some are 400-500 long.
Getting a comment is cool but adding an awesome reply with extra content, keywords and links in is building out your posts further than originally planned and great for SEO.
I did some training here on the matter a while back probably need to up date it especially the fact we have the site comment section on here now.

Although I've given more than 350 comments in the Site Comments tool and achieved 100% rating, I learned a lot from your detailed training and will work at improving my comments and replies to comments this month.
Yes very important. I recently had some great and lengthy comments from an interest group that I joined on fb.
