Facebook Conquered
Ooh, another big WIN for me today... had to share a quick tip I just learnt from a new friend. Forgive me if this is old news for most of you.
Anyone out there who did everything back to front like I did?
I built Pinterest, Google Plus, Flipboard, StumbleUpon, Instagram and Twitter BEFORE I joined Facebook.
Sharing to Facebook from my blogs (via Sumo social share buttons) has been driving me nuts. The pictures have not been appearing on my FB posts no matter which dims I use.
And then I discovered the quick tip that changed everything for me!
I can click on my Instagram posts (right hand corner - drop-down menu - share) and click share to my Facebook page and it comes out beautifully - with image, splurb, hashtags, the lot!!!
Yay!! So simple. So stunning. So speedy.
Suddenly found a way to make friends with Facebook.
This just made my day.

I have my business account linked to my IG account so I can just auto post to that account whenever I post to IG.
Facebook doesn't like #'s they are not really a FAcebook thing so a big tip if you are sharing from IG to Facebook is to post with only one or two #'s in the IG post and then to add the bulk of #'s copy past into a new comment on IG. This also makes your first post and comment look less desperate that with 30 #'s in it.
Also link your twitter etc to IG and just post once and let IG share the post everywhere for you.
If you set your blog post with a feature image then it will always show in a FB post if you paste the url in or if you use your own share buttons.

Will the image appear too if I share to Twitter? Image size is so different.
I have added feature images to my blog posts and tried every recommended size I could find but my images are not showing up. I have to insert them manually. Have googled and tried all kinds of tricks but not found a fix.. until now. Maybe its my WP Theme?? Will start with Insta. Problem solved.
If you share to twitter it shares the text and a link for the image. I actually just type the text and then copy it before I post it then go to twitter and post the photo and paste the text in. It does save a couple of minutes of typing if you're doing it that way ;-)
Aah, thanks Jovo. Will be sure to add that when I'm sharing posts from my site. The first posts I shared were just motivational posts that weren't linked to any of my blog posts so I didn't even think of that little snag.
