What goes through our minds when we begin something new? For general purposes, I will mention different new situations, but I am writing this to you. I want each of you to know the milestones you will encounter along the way in your new business.

The Road Ahead

I am a firm believer that if we know what to expect, we can overcome each obstacle. Of course here at WA, new beginnings happen every day for so many. Or it can be a new marriage or a new home or a new baby. There are so many different new situations in life.

All of them have the same process you will go through. But what about a new business. You may think that there is no way a business can be as demanding as other life endeavors. I am here to tell you that YES it can. All new beginnings are exciting, but obstacles will come.

Excitement and Anticipation

OK, so you come to WA with excitement and anticipation. You learn what an incredible platform WA has, and you know you are in the right place. You set your goals to include making big money by a specific date and work hard.

Excitement, goals, big money, and hard work are all excellent for you to set your business up. But you will become discouraged. I don't know when this will happen; it may be a month or three months or six months or even a year. The discouragement can extend out to two, three, and four years.

Why Will You Become Discouraged?

In my opinion, It is because we set our expectations on a time frame of money and statistics.

You are human, and you will think as the world does. Your thought process is when you work, you should make money. When you go to a job and work for someone else, you figure your paycheck based on an hourly wage. You are used to thinking in terms of money and a time

frame.

So you set an expected time frame of when and how much money you will make with Affiliate Marketing. Like I say it is only natural to think this way.

Everything in our world today is based on testing and statistics. In your business, you will learn about A/B testing, algorithms, google analytics, and google console. All of the mentioned are statistically based if you do not compile data then you won't know where to improve.

While you are gathering the data, you can't help but look at it. Maybe some numbers you are testing have dropped, or you have checked them over and over without an answer to the problem then you are bound to become discouraged.

What Can You Do?

You started a new business which is for most a learning curve. Training your self to overcome the disappointments is a part of the learning curve. When you learn how to run your business, you also need to learn how to overcome the disenchantment. If you don't learn how to get past the defeat, you will want to quit.

A couple of suggestions:

Set your goals on creating content, website creation, soaking up all of the training offered. Stay away from the goal of money. When you work hard and build your website, consumers will come. No one knows when that time will be, but people will begin to trickle to your website, and growth will happen.

The algorithms and data you have to pay attention to are not going to go away. Statistics are so crucial for improvement. But always keep in mind that all things go up and down. Data is no different. When you see a drop allow time for it to spike again.

Do Not let the world of numbers rule your emotions.

Focus on only two

I have mentioned that you will have disappointments. You will become discouraged. But I have

also given you only two ways to combat these feelings.

Focus on your work and not the outcome of your financial growth. Build your hopes and dreams based on the work you put in and the growth you see in yourself.

Focus on these two things to help you overcome discouragement. Never put a time frame on money and never let numbers drive your emotions.

Learning these two steps and applying them to your business will keep you going past the day you want to quit. The disappointment you will encounter is short-lived and fleeting. Let it go and move on.
