Analytical Color And Business

I have been doing a lot of thinking lately about business and business people. What type of personality does a business person have?

Analytical

I have always stereotyped a business person as a very serious, no-frills type of person. They don’t think in colors but in analytical black and white. Everything is concrete, and it either is, or it isn’t.

My husband is an analytical person. He and I match each other well. I have nothing against black and white and no grey thinking. I am not that person.

Emotion and Passion

I was a nurse all of my life. Everything I do is from the heart. When I decided to become a business person, I tried to write business articles.

These articles always ended up with emotion in them on how I feel about my subject. No matter how hard I tried, I could not take the passion and color out of my posts.

I am not capable of thinking in black and white. Everything has a grey area and bunches of color mixed in. I am not synesthesia, but instead, I use the term of thinking in color to describe emotions and a thought process of my business.

Over the past few months, I almost convinced myself that unless I developed an analytical mind, I could not be a successful business person. I was running my stereotype of a business person through my paradigm of life.

Light Bulb Moment

Then the light bulb came on, and I realized that I am a unique person who will do things differently than anyone else. I use the blueprint and follow the path of Affiliate Marketing entrepreneurs, but there will always be a different uniqueness in my style.

If I want to run my business from a colorful mindset, I will reach people. There are billions out there on the internet, and I know that 2500+ of those billions will relate to my way of business.

I am not talking about the backend business aspect of affiliate marketing. In that area, I am black and white. The books balance, or they don’t. It is my job to make them balance.

But what about the words and how I choose to reach the 2500+ of those billions of people. Everything I write, I put emotion into it. Everything I do has my heart in it. I know I will find those people who relate to the way I write.

Encouragement For You

So why did I write this? I wrote it for you. I want every one of you to know that if you run your business with integrity and honesty, your business will thrive.

You have to be you, which is a part of branding your business. You write from your heart or your analytical mind, and you reach those who are meant to come to you.

Do not try to be someone you are not or emulate someone you admire. It will not work for you because there will be no sincerity in your work.

So when you think you may not be cut out for this or someone else is better, it is time to stop comparing yourself to others. Reach deep inside of you, find out who you are, and move in that direction.

Above all, keep going. Don’t look back and don’t change who you are if you are operating in honesty, integrity, and your beliefs of who you are.

Hi Laura
Alison Mooney wrote a great book on colours for each personality and I enjoyed this book immensely.
Nothing is black and white in life or in nature or the Universe
This warmed my soul this morning- thank you, my friend,
Vicki

awww my friend, thank you so much.

Laura

Great advice Laura. People sense authenticity so it's important to be true to ourselves. I'm not a black and white thinker either!

So true on "People sense authenticity." I am so happy I did convey this message to all. thank you for pointing this out.

Laura

Nice piece. I have been exposed to the stereotype threat unknown but came to understand its significance in the world. It is a phenomenon. Really nice piece.

Thank you, We all stereotype and each one of us has done it to someone else and had it done to us. But it is sad and we have to take a look at ourselves to determine where we need to change. thank you for your valuable input. I do appreciate it.

Laura

This post really resonates with me Laura. As I love colour. Pink always been my favourite the more shocking the Pink the better.

I remember I shared a post here once and My titles and headlines were shocking Pink.

I had another mistake that day and two other people went out to diss me. In fact one person went on to Blog a post here about not making mistakes in spellings in the permalinks.

Which in all essence is true.

I do not mind to stand and be corrected but don't gloat at me and write about it. That to me is not acceptable and they are the kind of gloaters that are the blackest areas in my world.

The other person went onto to say did you see it the site it is a bit in your face in it.

Damn did that hurt. Not because they maybe speaking the truth more because of the dark side that resonated from them. The gloating.
Callous, cold, nasty.

I changed my colours and nearly ditched the site but didn't lol it is now Red and Black and hints of cream. Do I have mistakes, of course I do. I am not AI perfect and never will be.

I am more than willing for guidance and I stand to be corrected. The colours won't change in my life but the grey areas are long since gone.

I am still as bold and as brash and yes I love colours. The More shocking Pinks the better lol. If people do not like it that is not my problem. It's me and who I am.

I love this post Laura. Thank you. I will never change who I am just because 1 or 2 don't like it. If I have made mistakes then I appreciate the honest truth. It really is as simple as that.

We are all unique in our ways. If we was all the same then imagine one WordPress theme would all look the same but they never look the same do they.

They can all be the same theme but once we work our magic on them no two will be the same. Colour reigns and I love it. Honesty, integrity, reigns above all. So much better than been steeped in anger or jealousy for sure.

One local site I have to work on is red and yellow.. Now that is some brash colours. Not my choosing lol... I am using the English version of colour lol we spell it different. :)))

Hope your Hubby is doing ok by the way. Great to catch up with you again Laura.😘🙌
Debs :)

I love hot pink too Debs!!

😘🙌 Missed you girl…

Oh, Debs, I do love comments because they cause me to think deeper. Yours is a great one.

We have to be who we are in our uniqueness to make our mark in this world. It is so difficult not to worry about what others may think, but it is imperative that we work through that and do what we know is best from our hearts.

I have seen many red and yellow sites, and I think it is a great idea. Follow your heart, and it will be the right decision.

There are male and female analytical people in this world. I have met a few female ones that are incredible, and I wanted to emulate them because I admire them so much. That is one of the reasons for this post. I had to remind myself that I need to be who I am and not try to be like someone else.

As for feedback, always take it with a grain of salt and go with what you believe is best. Example; Someone said that a part of my landing page was messy. I thought about it and changed it. My traffic went way down. I changed it back and decided it was a personal preference. So as I say, follow your heart.

Laura

This is one of my favorites....

Absolutely perfect and so true.

Laura

I LOVE this Laura! When I started reading I thought "No!" "Business doesn't have to be black and white. If you speak in color you will speak to others who see the world the way you do!" I am glad you came to the same conclusion.

My husband is very black and white too...maybe it's a guy thing. Like you I see a million shades of grey. I think my site did well because I tried to be very authentic. I didn't go look at other sites (as was advised) to emulate them. I did what I wanted (as far as content). I follow the rules to a T when it comes to SEO methods etc.

So while other people might have been lax on doing all the steps for good SEO, but spending a ton of time following a bunch of different opinions on how narrow a niche should be and what to write, I did the opposite. I didn't worry about making my niche too narrow. I wanted it to feel natural and include all the variables of having a cat (or dog)...food, health problems, supplements, behavior, dealing with rescues etc. I made sure I followed all the SEO steps as well so my posts rank right away.

I did not start with WA promotion since I knew reviewing work from home scams would NOT hold my attention. Great for those that make it work. I am thrilled to hear of their success. But that was not for me. I wanted to share the genuine stories of how we helped a nervous, jumpy rescued kitty with behavior problems who peed on everything turn into a perfect lifelong companion with A++ behavior now. I wanted to share the supplement I found to help prevent tooth and gum disease in dogs and cats and explain how that could save the pet pain or even their life and save the owner thousands of dollars in cleaning under anesthesia. I did what I believed in and I think that authenticity works. Now I am doing the same with my human health site.

My sales and traffic are down now because I have been so busy with my other jobs but I know as soon as I start adding content things will pick back up.

Be you!!!

Jessica

I still say one day Jessica you will wake up and be able to sell your site for thousands and thousands. It has to be. The time you have invested in it.

Hard work will always pay off in the end along with all your honesty and integrity.. There always comes that time when our Niche specific sites branch off in different directions.

Jessica I just know what you have worked for will work for you. It is the honesty and integrity that prevails all in the end.. Even better with a splash of Pink. 🙌

Jessica,
You are doing exactly what you need to do. Kyle set up this platform as a guide but he never said we needed to be puppets. You have taken it to the next level.

The level of you being you. Great job.

I responded to Debs with this comment because I thought she was the one who said "It must be a man thing" so I will copy and past it here for you.

Your comment is perfect and will inspire many.

Thank You

Laura

Thank you Laura. I know it isn't just men who see the world that way but I really think it is more common among men in general.

I think you will do great being true to yourself and showing that on your website. Of course we can learn a thing or two from those very organized and disciplined members here as well. For example it is good to post on a schedule with consistency. I have not been good at that. The only time I was consistent in posting to my site was when there was a posting challenge going on here for a year. I posted on my site every week during that challenge. Then the member doing it took a hiatus from WA and I never kept up again. I thought of restarting the challenge myself but didn't feel like I had time to commit to it.

Members who have the consistency thing down do very well. That is just one example of of an analytical advantage!

Aww, thanks Debs. You are always such a great support here. It is discouraging to see my traffic and sales down so far but I am still proud of my sites and know they can pick up again. My content is pretty evergreen so that is good.

I am working on a loong post for my human health site on the topic of bursitis. It is my longest yet and I think it will do well. I found a great keyword for it with thousands of searches and I know my coverage of the topic is better than most of the competition. I just need to get through this next week. Our tenant moves out tomorrow and we have until July 3rd to do paint and carpet etc. and get it all ready for a traveling doctor to move in!

Jessica

You have so much on and you still amaze me Jessica. I would love to know more about your new site.

Jessica remember you was probably one of the very first to get rich snippet. It wasn't as common back then.

I know you got this girl.
Hope all gets sorted I know you work so hard.

Wished I was round the corner from you so I could pitch in and help you with the painting etc. :)

Thanks Debs. I wish you were too! You would make painting a blast!! My in-laws will be coming to help us so hopefully we can make our deadline. I am arguing with the carpet installers however.

Hi Laura, what a great post.

"Everything I do is from the heart", this shows through all your posts and comments.

"These articles always ended up with emotion in them on how I feel about my subject". Just goes to show your honesty and your quality of character.

"I am a unique person who will do things differently than anyone else". Yes you are. Please don't ever change. You are an inspiration.

I am keeping this post Laura, so I will be able to look, read and be inspired to write my posts.

You are an amazing lady, and I love you for who you are.

Many thanks,

Michael

Michael, Thank you so much. You have made my day and warmed my heart.

There are many of us who think in colors but regardless of colors or black and white the important part is to be ourselves.

I love you also my friend. You are also unique and your presence brings new light to all who are on this platform.

Laura

Laura,

Thanks for this great post and reminder to all of us.

Blessings!

You are welcome.

Laura

I'm glad you are into color. So am I. Black and white is not usually my thing. We'll paint our way to success.

Black and white has its place. It’s like Laurie says, both work together like teamwork.

Laura

Super post, Laura!

I think it depends on what kind of business you're in.

Certainly, all the analytics requires black and white thinking, but creative marketing is definitely nuanced and -to use your analogy- colorful!

Maybe the best business team is comprised of both analytic black-and-white and free-thinking, colorful types! :)

Laurie, you give the best insight.

I agree.

Laura
