Refugees welcome

Just back from Madrid, a city with a sweltering 40 C.

Went with the AVE, a bullet train, on Thursday from Malaga and arrived in just 3 hours.
So hot !!!, 10 C more than on the Costa del Sol where we live. We did a lot of walking, the beautiful El Retiro Park and a visit to The National Archeological Museum. A lot of nice lunches and enjoying cooler evenings with great dinners in the old part of town which was packed with people.

There was something which caught our attention.
A big Banner on the City Hall.

Between that nice message and reality there sadly is a big abyss.
I do not want to enter into detail but a fact is that Spain has very few refugees.

Here you can see my contribution to this crisis, I welcomed him into my house.
I hope that I was the main reason for him to leave the US last year August.
Another reason which contributed to his exit was the looming changes he foresaw.
You can see he is all happy in the flowers.

Greetings from the south of Spain, Taetske

The architecture is stunning! It makes New York's City Hall look like a prison!

Hello, Veronica, nice to see you.

Yes, the architecture is quite amazing and there are many more buildings a lot more beautiful than this town hall. It is not bad but I liked the banner best.

p.s. but of course, the US Expat tops it all.

Quiza's es porque hablo espan(~)ol pero me di cuenta de que la sen(~)al esta' en el ingle's. ?Existe una gran comunidad de habla inglesa?

Lo siento, no tengo un teclado espan(~)ol

Yo tampoco!

I think they put it in English as in Madrid a lot of people speak it and of course it looks good when foreigners can read it.

!!Bien!!! por supuesto. Thank you so much. One of my clients lives in Spain. Madrid, in fact. Sean Thomas. He is here. Seanthomas88

Happy that you had an enjoyable trip Taetske. Did you get to that 300 year old restaurant, and how was that?

For sure we did Kaju,

I will write a post on my Health website about it even if it was not all " healthy " we ate there. Probably will post it this coming Sunday.

Hello, Pernilla, back again from Stonehenge?

Hello Taetske!
Actually we have our flight to Great Britain this weekend. I'm very much looking forward to it. Yes, I love to travel and see other places like you do.

This week I have been working on my online business and of course at my workplace, that's why I have taken a blog-break. Anyhow you'll see me now and then commenting, also when I'm traveling around.

Greetings from a rather hot Switzerland, kind of melting - too hot for me 32 degrees. Can't imagine 40 degrees!

Keep cool!
:-) Pernilla

I'm glad you're enjoying your new company. Him leaving the US for Spain had to be for a good reason. ;)

I'm glad you both seem happy. Say hi to Michael for me :))

Thank you, Denis, yes we are happy together.

Michael says Hi back.

Aw Madrid so many members, many waters have passed under the bridge since my trip to Spain. I can still travel the old Madrid in my mind. I don't remember streets or shops the only way you can experience Madrid is by visiting and emerge your into the old walls that seen to talk to you and the smells that are around you. Olive oil that is the main cooking oil. not the refined stuff we have here but the real Ma-coy. It has a destined aroma and taste.

Taetske thanks for bring these memory’s home to me some day I will return to Spain and relive those moments and there will be friends there to greet me much regards to Michael for me.
Linda

Happy you liked your little trip to Madrid Linda.

The world is full of wonderful people

Good morning Sylvia,

Yes indeed, there are many wonderful people out there but it is not so easy to find them. Even at an older age, I did.
Just wanted to mention, I love cats and the new house I have designed but do not know if I will build it in this life has the Feng Shui concept integrated.

You can find some amazing people in the world Taetske!

Good morning Mike,

I never thought a thing like this would happen to me but there you see. Michael was an Environmental Engineer in the US so we both are on the same green wavelength.

Thanks for sharing Taetske, is this handsome man your partner nowadays:)

He told me to tell you that he is just some dude I found on the street.

Haha, mine came via an ad, "I am looking for a man on the couch", and he thought, hmmm... I can do that;)

Loes, I hope he can do a bit more.
Mine I found on a worldwide dating site after 11 frustrating months where I nearly left.

Great:) I found mine on a Dutch dating site :)) And yes, he does more..
