Our first Birthday Party together
A great Birthday Party !
Michael, who moved from the US to Spain last year in August had his birthday this last Saturday the 27th.
As I had mine on the 8th we combined it and had 1 party. I love birthday parties but having ours in the same month I found no way to have 2, we are grownup afterall, still a shame.
We were busy getting everything prepared. The Patio had to be cleaned, all those cobblestones you know. My friends remember that when there is something on outside no high heels for the ladies.
I also sceduled to make certain things in advance as I planned a cold buffet and the people were coming at 14.00 so that is lunch time.
I made a chicken liver pate with a good shot of Sherry, baked my own Gluten free bread, Salmonrolls with dill from the vegetable garden, Advocado salat, rice salat with chicken and walnuts, Gorgonzola little bites etc.
Here you have a vieuw of the total.
Now it is not easy to get all the friends together on a certain date. Some who are older than us had some health problems, others were not in Spain and a very nice couple, he is a doctor from Iran and the other he is an opera singer from South America who had to perform at a concert in Madrid could not come.
Still, we got quite a few people togeher, we were in total 8 Nationalities. US, Holland, Germany, Great Brittan, Peru, Domenican Republic, Argentina and Denmark.
The weather was lovely, not too hot, some 26 C = 79 F.
Michael did the drinks and I did the food. Every body had a good time and were chatting away be it in English, German or Spanish.
I asked if there was anybody who did not want to end up on Internet so some people did not want to be photographed, here you can see what part of the group looked like.
After the icecream we opened the gifts.
There were quite a lot of those special bottles you would never buy for yourself.
Very good for stocking up the corner cubboard which is the bar. A box with nice chocolates had melted a bit, the more reason to eat it quickly. I should not forget a beautiful climbing rose which will be planted in the garden. There also was a bottle of a
very special virgin olive oil, we are big fans of olive oil and have it every day.
A very big and beautiful book with the title “El Mar “ the sea and for me there were some antiaging products, so cute, I love my friends.
In June I have to go to Madrid for my passport so we will make a 4 day holiday trip, our birthday gift.
Greetings from the south of Spain, Taetske

Such a beautiful dual B-day celebration, and the weather looks wonderful. You have a gorgeous patio view, Taetske. Glad you enjoyed it your day!
Hello Kaju,
The weather was excellent for those type of things as later on in the season it can get a bit too hot.to do things at midday.
When I celebrated my 60 th with a big party on the Patio of my golf club it was 29 C in the evening.
After following the 7 steps lesson I am now thinking it might be better to go into Google+, what do you think?
All the best, Taetske
