I did a review on two items in the same post and was affiliate to both items (companies), but one item, the company is making changes and at this point has not an affiliate pro

Thanks all of you for your advice. I believe I'll rework the review around the product that is still available. I appreciate your advice. I'm thinking I need to change the title of the post to match just the one product. The title was kind of 'which product is better for you' and since I'm just doing it on the one, I think I need to change the title, but I don't know how that will affect the way google responds to the post. So I will be pondering that one..
Thanks, again!

Lynn

Update the article and either remove the product that is no longer available or find a viable alternative. You certainly don't need to delete the post, just update it. You will find that products and affiliate programs will come and go.

I had the experience of joining an affiliate program, I bought the product to review it (about $150), then about 1 month later the company abandoned their affiliate program. UGH!

I would update with the info from the company, but later down the road I would try to separate, we always updating reviews because of these product changes so its nothing new.

I would update the current one and remove the item that is no longer available.

you could always add a comment that the one product is no longer available but a new one is coming soon and you will update the review when the latest product is available.....
save having to rewrite it again and again....
have fun

I have moved my amazon affiliate disclosure to the first thing on my

sidebar, but it shows up in google search for a few of my posts. Why is

that and how can it b

Amazon actually just got in trouble with the FTC for their disclosure requirements.

The FTC would not find the disclosure in the sidebar to be acceptable, because on mobile it could easily fall to the bottom of the page instead of preceding the post.

Thanks for the info, so I guess I'll add it to the top of my post with my other disclosure statement.
Again, thanks!
Lynn

Amazon has their own rules, so I know you have to follow those as well right now, so bottom line I wouldn't recommend the sidebar as the location. Hard to decide what to do when two systems collide as they do here.

I verified my google console quite a few months ago, but when I try to log in it wants me to put my site in and verify again. I don't understand.

Hi Perrie, looks like Paul has provided you with a video. Google keeps changing things around. I try to visit them everyday.

Best wishes,
Michael

I have a post that's 2200 words. Do you think thats too long or should I make it into 2 posts?

It's only too long if you were trying to come up with words just to make it that long. As long as all the content is relevant and not repetitive, you may be okay.

Now, for it to be successful, is it going to be really of interest to your site visitors? Most people don't enjoy reading something that long unless it is riveting. That would be the reason to break it into two articles. When I wrote for newspapers like the Chicago Tribune and the Boston Globe, my target article length was 1200 words. I've always used that as a guideline when writing for people. After all, they are the ones who will read your article, not Google.

I really like that :)

Hi, 2200 words are not over any limits. It would be nice if you decide to leave it as one post.

Search engines love long content Perrie ... And if is original and helpful your readers will love it too ... I have posts longer than 12K words :)

My vote: if you can split it into 2 posts, go for it! You get an extra post out there and each is a bit easier for those who have short attention spans.
