I wabt to make custom page to my blog without using premade themes is it possible?

Thank you everyone. I got help that I needed. I will be sure to let you all know what comes with this project

you could start with underscores https://underscores.me/ and use thi as a start for all of the boilerplate and build your themes on here with added css and html
good luck
phil

Virpi,

You can simply create a page then have the page be your home page by editing your settings in the "Reading" area my Friend.

Customizing with your theme may be achievable by changing the settings within the page while creating the page.

Let me know when you have this Virpi,

Tony

Hey Virpi,

If you would prefer to create your own WordPress theme, you could learn to do that online. Google searching "wordpress design your own theme online" (without the quotation marks, of course) and you will be offered several options for you to decide from.

You can also learn to create a website in PHP rather than even use WordPress. To find lessons that are available for this option you would need to do a Google search.

Wealthy Affiliate teaches affiliate marketing and how to create a winning WordPress website, not the actual creation of the WordPress theme itself.

Hope this helps you.

No, I know of no custom editors that do not require payment.

How to use wordpress as a csm only?

I hope to get some sponsored posts and was thinking how to pitch them and someone started talking about doing my media kit?

Great question and very good answers thanks everyone!

Randy

You should be good to go with this media kit.

That is a PR Back Linking System and Greatly Enhances your SEO and Internet Presents. The media kit is a promotional public relations tool that can serve several functions, including promoting the launch of a new company, promoting the launch of a new product or service by an existing company, giving a company a way to present itself as it would like to be seen.

Should I have it as a page in my site and not just e-mail form?

I would do both.

Great information, Thank you so much for sharing with us my Friend!

You are very welcome, Tony.

I've never heard anything about media kits, but I really don't know. You should ask someone that has been with WA for a while. You could maybe ask the question in 'discussion'.

T

the best way to get sponsored posts are very similar to getting sponsors for a seminar---are they in your niche and do they use the products you're writing about

I've been asked to have a blog in finnish as well as english. Any suggestions?

Featured Comment

I would suggest you create your website focusing on just ONE language. When you try to translate your content (translators do a horrible job of this as they are far too literal), you take away from the overall site quality.

When you create an "additional" website, you create double the work for yourself without knowing if the campaign is going to be successful or not.

Both of these will lead to much more work and a lot less focus. Focus on one language or the other when starting out Virpi, once you are successful with one you could diversify down the road and build out a second website and create a translated version of your website for an additional revenue stream.

Thank you. I will stay with english and give a quick translate to finnish for those not able to read english. Maybe after a year or so I can write the same post in both english and finnish

Virpi, It looks like you have some awesome advice from kyly my Friend so you're in good hands.

Hi Vilperi,

I would follow Kyle's excellent suggestion. Focus on one site right now. You can always have a second site down the road, as Rich suggested.

Dianne

I'd recommend doing it as two separate sites on subdomains, ie.

en.fotolia.com (English)
es.fotolia.com (Spanish)

You can use geo redirection from your home page, ie. fotolia.com so that anyone landing there from Finland would automatically be redirected to fi.fotolia.com

Thank you. This might be an option in the future. And something I must research some more.

No probs. I didn't realise you were a recent joiner, so unless you have some experience, I would do as Kyle suggests and focus on building the site in one language first.

You can always go back and translate everything at a later date.

Also, don't forget, most browsers like Chrome will translate on the fly for visitors, albeit not as well as if you'd written it yourself. :)

Yes quite new still. 1 month on saturday.

I am not using Twitter at the moment and have huge problems using Pinterest. Love Instagram and have a neutral relationship with Facebook and Google+. Do I really need to sign

I use the all

Vilperi16 Since you already have a facebook account. Just sign in, create a business Fan Page and title it the title of your niche. Do a facebbok search for groups within facebook with the same or similar niche and target those groups by post a video or content to those groups--only the ones you are not required to join. This will help your blog, page, site to be shared and go viral!

Thank you. I have my own facebook group and several I belong to so that is covered.

My understanding is that Twitter is good for numerous shorter blasts (tweets) about your blog!

I did open a twitter account and it is good for adding a link to your post. I have had views from it.

Thank you. I will think about twitter once I master Pintetest. Had some great review of pinterest in a blogger group in facebook.

Pinterest has been a great way to get followers for me.

I do have a Twitter Virpi but am very rarely ever actually on it. I have my Linkedin account connected to twitter so from my website I do share every post to Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook, Google+ and Xing (Similar to LinkedIn)

I do absolutely love instagram and it has now become my Favorite Social media outlet of the mainstream ones.

I hope that this helps Virpi,

Tony

It does help. Thank You Tony

Awesome Virpi, You are welcome my Friend!

No, of course not. You don't have to use any specific social media platform. Choose one....and learn to master it and your marketing efforts there first BEFORE you move on to another.

If you start using too many social media platforms at once, you won't learn to master any of them and you won't accomplish anything.

Thanks. I will then put all my effort to learning to use Pinterest and continue with Instagram and facebook and google+ are there just as support.
