Lesson Learned Today
Today, I learned a lesson that I will never repeat in the future. As I continue to grow with this online business, I am sure I will learn a lot of lessons along the way. This in my opinion is the only way to improve.
Your probably wondering what happened?
Well, I will be glad to tell you and hopefully this can save somebody else from repeating the same mistake I just made and wasting so many hours, trying to correct the mistake.
According to John Powell he states that
"The only real mistake is the one from which we learn nothing"

It all Started with a blog post!
I wrote a blog post a couple of nights ago. That same day I worked for long hours like from 11 am to 4 am. Well, when I wrote the post I put some facts on my article gave credit to where credit was due. But, forget to link the source.
Today, someone left a comment on my website and wanted to know where the source came from. The reference was not good enough. They wanted to see the actual source.
And, I don't blame them. Of course, it makes you more credible if you can show and prove where you got the information from. Especially, if you are new and don't have no kind of authority and are not well-known.
If you're well-known, not too many people will question you. People will usually just take your words and roll with the punches.
Now, I guess I know parts of what it means to build authority with your website...
My Blog Update
I always try to be as accurate and credible as possible so, I went back and updated my blog post with the linked sources. Before, I updated the information i could not find the sources again. Well, I found a few of them but, not all.
I corrected the post with the sources linked, after spending well over 6 hours trying to find the sources again, and having to link them to my post. I won't make that mistake again but, I can say it was a great lesson learned and I now know that it is okay to add external links to your site.
What lesson did I learn?
The lesson that was learned today, was to always make reference of where you got the information and always give access to the source by linking to the source, if available. This can save you time going forward.
Why would you link to the source?
It's important to know that not all people will question your information but, you will have some people that actually want to see proof.
In addition to learning about linking to the source
Early today, I did not know that you could link to other people's websites/blogs. With the help of David one of our Ambassadors. (DEversley's Network) I also learned that it is okay to link to outside websites or external linking as they call it and if you want to read more about that.
Here is the article.

Well, that is all folks! I thought I'd share my experience today. Now, I need to go and work on another post.
Thanks for stopping by! Have an awesome day!

Glad you got through, Kisha. Now that's one more mistake you wouldn't have to make again. An amazing learning experience.
