The monarch project: a metaphor
Many of you have been following along the journey of the monarchs. I was introduced to the Monarch butterfly many years ago when one of my dad's clients gave him a live chrysalis.
My father, a former Presbyterian minister continued to minister to his flock even after he left the church. He became certified in neurolinguistic programming and actually spent some time in California working with Bandler and Grinder who, if you don't know, were the fathers of neurolinguistic programming.
He also became a certified hypnotist. He combined, these two disciplines into a psychological counseling business that helped people get free of their dis-ease.
His business was called the chrysalis foundation.
My dad used to speak in metaphors often. It might've been the training that he received in seminary or the many years that he spent in the pulpit translating and paraphrasing for his congregation, but he could certainly spin a tale. I find this to be a very useful tool when working with online marketing.
The lifecycle of the Monarch butterfly is fascinating to watch but it also can provide us with the unique perspective. The mother drops the egg and flies off to let it fend for itself. The baby Caterpillar breaks free of this egg and its first meal is the casing of its bondage. It provides the only sustenance left from its mother. From this point on it is free to consume. And consume it does, it eats and eats and eats until it grows so large that it climbs right out of its skin. With luck, there is plenty of milkweed for it to eat as this is all that it will eat. For two full weeks it gorges, growing out of its skin two more times. Then it becomes time for the true transformation. It sheds its skin one more time and becomes an emerald green chrysalis with a crown of gold. Inside the real transformation occurs and finally it breaks out into a cacophony of color and takes flight into the world.
When we join WA, we are like the egg coming from afar and getting deposited into a sustaining place. The Caterpillar stage can be likened to our starter membership. The baby marketer crawls out of his skin and becomes premium. And then continues to consume. We grow as marketers as we take the training and gorge ourselves on the learning. Finally, as we mature, we are able to break out, our sites take flight and start generating a real income and take on a life of our own.

Great analogy to WA Labman. Let's hope all the chrisalids here are ready to break out and go on to greater heights, just like your monarchs.

I enjoyed the journey that you took us on with the Monarch butterfly. I only hope that I will be able to accomplish what the Monarch has done as you have said.
I don't mind being a caterpillar for a while again until I am mature. Then to beat my wings to create a tsunami. Your father was a smart man: to use his mind in NLP and hypnosis, to help others with his skill provided amazing experiences among us fragile humans. I follow the same path as the Mind Wizard. Larry
