Celebrating 8 years with WA

Thursday I had a notification that I was starting my eighth year at wealthy affiliate.

This is a good time to look back and see what it is that wealthy affiliate has changed in my life. In 2010 I joined wealthy affiliate. I had done a bunch of research into how to earn money online. I was convinced that there had to be away that this new online world could provide an income for me. Joining wealthy affiliate back then was a difficult decision. There was no starter membership. I could join for $99 per month or not. I was not able to kick the tires so to speak.

During the 8 years I have been at WA, I have worked on several of my own affiliate sites, some have been serious duds, some have provided me with a modest income with little additional effort. I have created several business websites for clients. Several of these are doing well for these clients others are now defunct or out of my control to help.

I also learned to say no to some people. I need to know that what I do for them will not only be appreciated but that they understand what I can and can't do for their businesses. I won't just plop a site up for them on the internet. I'm not an online hack that will create a site and walk away. I care that their business grows and that their websites will do for them what they intend.

4 years into my tenure at WA, I was dismissed from my last offline employment. I have been making my way online from that point on. This meant that I had to retool my skills. WA has been instrumental in teaching me how to survive.

I have met several members here that are now good friends. I have met several of them in person and even call some friends that I have only seen via Google Hangouts. Most Friday nights several of us get together after Jay has finished his Live Training to chat and catch up on what is going on with us.

In May of 2015, while near Knoxville, I met Mama2Karsten for the first time. When her family's vacation house was severely damaged in October of 2016 (Hurricane Mattew)I offered to help her rebuild. In 2017 I moved to Knoxville and we now live together. While WA is not a dating site, lifelong relationships can be built through this platform.

While change is often inevitable, WA has been and will be a driving force in many lives.

I hope that the impact that WA makes on your life is as good as the changes that it has created in mine.
