I want to add a disclaimer to the footer of my website. Not a link to a disclaimer page. Just a short disclaimer. Does anyone know how I can do that?

How about a text widget in one of the footer sections? I have found this very easy to communicate anything you want with some simple text or code.

I don't have one for my theme. Cybridge created a tutorial video on youtube and that helped

cybridge posted a video on how to do it. thanks everyone

I've never done it, but I would think you could just use a text widget and type it right in the widget box and place it in your footer widget area? (assuming your theme has a place for footer widgets).

You probably have a footer widget. Use that for a disclaimer or go through a footer menu, where you can add all the pages like privacy policy, disclaimer, contact aso.
Take a look at my footer: http://mybestinternetmarketingtools.com/

Don't worry in a few more hrs. ill post a blog on this for you to have an idea and for others to know too. See you later.

You are going to write a short text on your footer? Is that what u mean?

yes

What type of disclaimer exactly? Do you want it at the bottom of your content or on the bottom bottom even below the comments section? Been a little curious about this myself

no in the footer on the very bottom of the web page. like the disclaimer on this website http://dailyhiit.com/

Someone suggested trying the JetPack plugin and once I tried it, I loved the perks. I didn't activate all of them but I really like the ones that I did. Having pretty much everythi

Hey Kylie,

You are wise to remove JetPack in my opinion. I have had several websites blank out and when I asked my hosting company, each time it was attributable to JetPack. When I deleted it (which I had to do via FTP) all those websites came back. I know I have heard others here on WA say that they had no problems but for me it's a POS. :)

Best Regards,
Jim

Interesting topic going on here. Glad I tuned in! . . . . .

Forget JetPack Lite it just strips things down to a few stats but you still have to have the big bulky bloated original jet pack installed - so no benefit at all and still slows your load time of your site.

I'm not a big plugin fan - I have as few as possible - I use Stat Counter it is free and gives you all the information you need plus more than any plugin I know of can.

Here's a screen shot of the stats I have access to http://d.pr/i/CRKo

Hope that helps with an alternative

thanks leo! any suggestions for something regarding subscription and contact forms?

For contact a form I use is Gravity Forms but there are also free alternatives., meaning a plugin - Fast Secure Contact Form is a good one.

As for subscriptions are you talking about an auto-responder? If so I use Aweber - it's pretty much the industry standard.

What do you want to do?

I don't like the way my subscription widget looks and I liked the social media thing it had. I don't like the way the messages look when you subscribe either.

so you want a subscription form? did you try google forms? How to create a newsletter sign up for using Google Forms

https://my.wealthyaffiliate.com/getting-started/how-to-create-a-newsletter-sign-up-for-using-google-forms#

thank you wayne!

yes jetpack can interfere with your sites performance and is really not compatible with the WA hosting. A lot of people have have comment issues etc using it.

I'd suggest sticking to the plugins that are recommended in the training here

Hey Kylie,

You do not need any plugins to replace Jetpack because nothing within jetpack is required.

What were you liking from Jetpack that you feel you're missing?

I bet that most of the plugins are not required or needed. I can help if you let me know what you liked about Jetpack.

Carson

Hey Carson, thanks for commenting.

I know that the JetPack things aren't required but I don't want my site to be bland.

The social media widget was my favorite, I haven't found anything similar. It showed a glimpse of your social media history and rather than redirecting people to another window/tab they could follow or like your account or posts right there.

I like the subscription widget too. I don't like the way emails look from the one I am using now. Another thing I liked was the tracking. I have Google analytics set up but it was nice to get the traffic info as i logged in, even if it wasn't accurate.

Let’s play the “What if?” game real quickly.
What if, I hadn’t come to WA? Well, I wouldn’t have a blog or be on the road to making any kind of online career.
What if, I gav

Regardless of traffic, you should keep a schedule for specific posts. My book reviews are saturday and tuesday. I still add content and updates inbetween but my readers, when I get them will know that reviews are up on saturdays and tuesdays no matter what. :) jay has a webinar every friday as does wallace so pick a topic and a date. For your climb page you talk about fitness. Everyone knows that you should have a day of rest when you work out so that could be your topic for you special day :)

I have certain days picked for it but I'm having a hard time writing for the deadline. I guess that with time I will get used to it. I'm working on getting posts drafted for those days that I can't write

Don't feel rushed ^_^ And don't assign too many days :) If you can't get everything up on one day because you are falling behind, then just make a post about that :) 'Hey guys! I know I was supposed to have _____ up today, but I have been really busy lately. I will have it by ____. In the meantime, I hope you keep them burpies comin'! Have a great day!' :) And don't write because you have to, write because you want to. It comes easier then. :) If you write at 2pm everyday for a specific topic, try writing it a little later to give yourself a change in pace :)

Excellent post Kylie...you write as thoughts come to you, I think. Sometimes we tend to over analyse and become stilted. You can not ever be accused of that. Thank again for a thought provoking post.

"I realized today that I am just thinking too much. Writing should flow through my fingers, to the keyboard, and onto the screen. It should be natural." Author: kysalaz

It's funny how sometimes you bump into someones thoughts right about the same time you're having the same ones! The above sentences you wrote struck a chord with me, as for a few days last week I was stuck in a rut.

I've always enjoyed writing, and it's always come naturally. But last week, I found myself having all these great ideas to write about while at work, but once I got home and put my fingers to the keys.....complete brain-freeze! I realized that I was also overthinking. As great as all the information is here at WA, it's easy to "overload."
I was so focused on making sure I was adding the correct keywords in the correct places, etc., that the joy I've always had in writing faded out.

I decided to take a few days away just to regroup. I came back to my laptop 3 days later and voila, before I knew it, I wrote three new 500+ word posts in about an hour and a half. I'm rambling, but the point is, just as you said kysalaz, STOP THINKING TO MUCH!!! Forget about the keywords, SEO, etc. Just sit down and write what you feel. The keywords will fall into place on their own if you are truly passionate about your niche.

That's just my humble opinion. :)

I just got back from a short break(: It was only a day but that's all I needed I guess....I tend to jot down ideas on my phones notepad when I'm out and about, I keep expo markers lying around the house and will mark things on my mirrors, I always have something on hand so that I can write my random thoughts. Try it(:
Kylie

It's easy for us to run a little dry of tired sometimes. I think we all need to keep our mind open to new ideas. It's challenging but keep going.

Yes I would say get in the habit of publishing. I'm doing a webinar every friday as well, whether anyone is there or not, I'm doing it as if 100 people were there.

I'm PMing you
