There have been some questions surrounding what "type" of websites are included in the Starter membership.

As a Starter member you get complete access to the Website Builder and the ability to create TWO websites on the SiteRubix.com domain. These are FULL Wordpress sites and are hosted on our state-of-the-art servers. This does not include websites on your own domains.

As a Premium member you have the ability to add your own domains to our hosting (UNLIMITED) and you have the ability to build free websites (UNLIMITED).

Starter Membership = 2 Free SiteRubix Websites
Premium Membership = UNLIMITED SiteRubix Websites, UNLIMITED OWN domain websites

Hope this clarifies as there was some confusion surround these issues. Do let me know if you have any further questions.

PS. Here is some training walking you through the process of creating a free website here:

Can you delete the sites and start over again if you are a starter member?

Yes you can. As a starter member, you can have 2 sites at one time. So if you don't want one anymore, you can delete and start over.

Thanks for your reply.

Do new starter member have to use wordpress when creating a Site Rubix site? I thought site rubix had it's own creation options. I ask because wordpress can be hard for new users compared to something like Weebly.

If you follow the training here, you shouldn't have any issues with Wordpress. The training takes you through step by step and if you come across a problem there are a ton of discussions and blogs here that may help. Or you can just ask and there are many that will be able to help.

Thanks Jaweda. I agree with you on that. I was remembering the very first site I made was with Site Rubix website builder and it was so easy to use, I just assumed it was still available. I believe using Wordpress is the right way to go. Especially with all the the training that goes with it. Has everybody seen the classroom 'Everything Wordpress'? 60 tutorials, 91 videos, 5 courses and over 1700 discussions - WOW!!

Ya, you have to use wordpress to build your website. Site Rubix is where you get website hosting. If you have trouble with wordpress, then utilize the WA community for help. There are wordpress experts hanging out in this community.

If your 2 free websites are performing well can you take them down and start over? Can you put adsense , clickbank , paypal on these sites? Are they free forever?

You wouldn't want to take them down, you would want to transfer them over to your own domains and this is definitely something that you can do. I would never recommend using a free site forever, I do recommend that at some point you consider getting your domain as there are many benefits to doing this.

Thanks Kyle it definitely clarify things........

No problem :)

Thanks Kyle

Thank you for the info =)

the tweet button on this post is acting up.

Works fine on my end?

it's not shortening the url so when i try to tweet it it's saying it's spam

Try clicking the Affiliate link and see if the Google shortened URL is there. Sometimes it is not retrieve from the API.

It worked that time no problem.

This is a great option for the starter members. Can folks upgrade to the premium and their starter websites then have the functionality of adding a domain. Or is it a fresh start and they lose the free site and have to create their content all over on the premium option? Hope that makes some sense. Lol

Hey Eddy, Folks on the Starter package can upgrade to the Premium membership and unlock the ability to add websites on a domain of their choice. As a Starter members, people can create an instant (and free) website on a Siterubix.com subdomain so they can get started in building their business without any extra cost. When they are ready they can then utilize the full suite of features available with their Premium hosting. This includes the ability to add their own domains (.com, .org, .net etc), and it removes the limit on how many website installations they have.

The Starter package really does give people every tool they need to get started and we have removed any technical aspect by allowing instant websites on our Siterubix.com network!

People will NOT lose anything when they upgrade, they can continue with their free Siterubix.com websites if they wish, but they will now have the ability to create websites on domains they own and take their businesses to the next level.

Note: We are working on a solution where people can easily copy a website from their free Siterubix.com site, to a domain they own and host here at WA with the click of a button. This will be very powerful for members who upgrade to Premium memberships to seamlessly upgrade their sites too!

Great question!

Carson

Hey Carson! Thanks for the detailed response. I'm glad you're working on that feature because I'm sure when people see the value of the premium membership they'll want to step up their game. So making it easy to transfer the free content to upgraded hosting would be wonderful. Maybe some redirecting can happen as well so that users don't lose any SEO love their free pages may be getting because they're applying what they're learning here. ;)

Redirecting will most certainly be part of copying all website. Another thing that folks can do is create a free siterubix Site and use it as a template to create other sites with a click of a button. The redirection part will be an option when you copy and Site but not forced just in case you want to reuse the Site to make more copies in the future :-)

Sounds good Carson!

I'm confused. Been a member of WA since 2010. I pay a monthly fee. Am I being grandfathered in as a Premium member?

Yeah, you are definitely a premium member. Anyone that is paying is now a Premium member. :)

Hi Kyle, How about if you just have starter account and do own a domain name to build a website. Is it possible right? Because I just add my domain and it works 2createyourownwebsite dot com

This is going to be removed from Starter as of tomorrow. Starter you will not be able to add your own domain, you however will get 2 free websites. If you have one in place already though you will be fine. :)
