When you choose a domain, you are going to want to choose something that is "brandable" versus something that has keywords within it. The reason this is the case is because as you build out your website, you can target as many keywords as you like within the content (that is how you will rank).

These are domains. As Bob said, you purchase domains and you own them like real estate. We don't own the domains, you do and there is a fee associated with purchasing a domain.

A .org domain will typically run you around $16.

I wouldn't create a website as a .com and a .org. They would be different websites in different niches.

.org is simply another one of the top recommended top level domains, a close 2nd behind a .com.

I have a portfolio consisting of lots of .com, .org and .net domain names. .org domains are the 2nd best to the .com and .net's are 3rd best.

.com is always my recommendation if it is available, but there are lots of brilliant .org domains still out there.

.org are typically $15.99 per year. They are actually more expensive than .com domains. The current discount (lasting for 2 days) will get you a $9 off the normal .org price (at $6.99).

A .net domain is $15.99 too.

It seems like a good one. It is crazy when you dig into Jaaxy Domains how many there are available out there. I have to stop in the 100's with my domain collection, the minute I crack 1,000 I think they need to admit me to the domains addiction club.
