Hi rjkennedy, thank you for your support, well, I have not done anything as now because I am not sure of what domain to choose that can be appropriate. How did you do?
Reply

It all starts with Level 1-lesson 1. Listen and follow the lessons. We all started this way. But it's good to think of your niche at the beginning as well. What's your passion? What would you like to write about?

I'd like to ask, what would be the difference if someone get a .org domain instead of a .com?
Reply
rjkennedy Premium
.com domains are usually harder to get. .org or .net are usually more available. Both are good!

please i don't know if .org will be good for my domain name (Healthfitness247) ?

If the .com is still available, you should go for a .com domain.

The site for the .org domains says you have support, security and email, but at checkout, it says you must be a premium member to get those add-ons. Do those things come free with SiteRubrix? Would I be better off staying with SiteRubrix if I am not going Premium right now? Thank you.
Reply
Kyle Premium
Yeah, those are Premium only features. You will still have the whois privacy though, which is an added expense on other domain registrars and they are very easy to manage. You definitely don't need to be a Premium member if you are buy domains.

Can anyone tell me how come the .org domains are normally more expensive than the dotcoms at WA?
Reply
Kyle Premium
That is just based on the price set by ICANN, the mothering body of all domain names. Sometimes they offer a discount on domains that we can pass forward to our members.

A domain is the name of your website. The suffix is either .com,.org,.gov
Commercial,Organizational,Government.

It defines who you are,and sometimes what your intent is.

The price is good.Money well spent.
Reply
Kyle Premium
Yeah, .org can appear to be a legitimate and authority based website. I have had some really good success with .org's over years, they are my next go to after .com domains and I definitely stockpile good ones within my domain portfolio.

Hello kyle i am VERY NEW TO THIS and i am wondering what i would need one of these for is this for a website i would wish to open and get going?
Reply
Kyle Premium
I wouldn't worry about this at the moment if you are in the early stages of the training, but just to give you some insight, your domain is like your brand.

In our case, wealthyaffiliate.com is our domain name. That has become our brand and we OWN the domain name.

You can buy domains of your own if they are not owned by someone else already, there are TONS of awesome domains out there that are still available. You will get there though, one foot in front of the other.

Is that $6.99 per yr
Reply
Kyle Premium
Yes, for the 1st year. $15.99 (normal price) for subsequent years. This includes everything, including whois privacy, email, etc. No extra fees and no surprise costs like you will find with other registrars.

The email and support is only for premium members, correct?

I am interested in Cycling. I don't know org. com....
Reply
Kyle Premium
What aspect of cycling are you interested in creating your business in?

When deciding on a niche and trying to narrow down to a more specific niche, I recommend you ask yourself the following question:

I want to help people that ______________.

Fill in the blank and you are going to be much closer to a specific audience. After you do this and if you want to run any further ideas by me, let me know and I will give you a hand. :)

Could you please advice me some niche idea?
Reply
I have not make it that far... So i have no clue what i need as far as .net or .org or whatever... I am lost.... I will continue the training and go from there.... I am at chose your niche....

When you choose a domain, you are going to want to choose something that is "brandable" versus something that has keywords within it. The reason this is the case is because as you build out your website, you can target as many keywords as you like within the content (that is how you will rank).

I have created a discussion here outlining the process and what to look for when choosing a domain name: This should help you out here and if you ever want to run any domains by me, simply let me know and I will give you some feedback.

PS. You can host up to 25 of your own domains here within the Premium membership on our state of the art hosting platform. :)

As a starter member, you get two free siterubix subdomain sites. Since there is no registration for these sites, they're yours for free.

As a premium member, you get hosting for up to 25 siterubix subdomain sites (again free) and 25 personally-owned domain sites. Domains that you own must be registered with a domain registrar of your choice (WA, namecheap, godaddy, etc). Those registrations are charged for,

These are domains. As Bob said, you purchase domains and you own them like real estate. We don't own the domains, you do and there is a fee associated with purchasing a domain.

A .org domain will typically run you around $16.

Would the .org version of your .com website contain the same content and just have a different extension.
Reply
Kyle Premium
I wouldn't create a website as a .com and a .org. They would be different websites in different niches.

.org is simply another one of the top recommended top level domains, a close 2nd behind a .com.

Thanks very much for the clarification Kyle! That's what I figured but I just thought I would throw that out there, just to be sure.

Why should we buy a .org domain? Haven't you been saying in your trainings that we should get .com's and not bother with the rest?
Reply
Kyle Premium
I have a portfolio consisting of lots of .com, .org and .net domain names. .org domains are the 2nd best to the .com and .net's are 3rd best.

.com is always my recommendation if it is available, but there are lots of brilliant .org domains still out there.

Can someone clarify for me ... I thought any of the top three domains were regularly priced at $13.99 each per year (.com, .net, .org). This blog states the .org is normally $15.99 per year.

What is the correct pricing for each?

$13.99 for a .com
$15.99 for a .dot

What is the price for a .net?

Many thanks!
Reply
Kyle Premium
.org are typically $15.99 per year. They are actually more expensive than .com domains. The current discount (lasting for 2 days) will get you a $9 off the normal .org price (at $6.99).

A .net domain is $15.99 too.

It seems like a good one. It is crazy when you dig into Jaaxy Domains how many there are available out there. I have to stop in the 100's with my domain collection, the minute I crack 1,000 I think they need to admit me to the domains addiction club.

Not at all, Kyle -- you're not addicted. You can stop anytime you want to. You just don't want to. :=)
