How I Know if You Will FAIL...

There are a few quick indicators that I utilize to determine whether or not someone is going to fail within the online world and in business. To this date they have been very accurate in predicting whether or not someone will succeed online.

Want to know how I know if someone will fail?

There are a few qualities that people have that fail. They typically are:

(1) They want success this week (as in fast). Fast success is not a reality....so if this is you and this is what you are looking for, buy a lottery ticket. You have little hope of ever achieving success in business.

(2) They ask about a "product' they see promoted online. If you are someone that looks for the next shiny object, you are going to fail. There will always be something new that you move onto. Everything you need is here, if you keep looking for the "push button success", then you are going to be stuck in a cycle of inevitable failure.

(3) They read and say they are done. People that read do not succeed...it is the people that act on what they read that create success. No action, no success.

(4) They only focus on MONEY. That is the only thought they ever have. Money, money, money. If this is you, you will never be successful. In order to earn money, regardless of your niche, you need to focus on PEOPLE. Primarily, HELPING people. This is what leads to money, not focusing on earning money.

(5) They don't want to work hard. Sorry lazy people, you will never succeed. Those that don't work their butts off, will never achieve any level of success. If you think the 4 hour work week is a reality, then try it out. But you will be operating a failing business and one in which operates 4 hours per week. You are going to have a tough time competing with those people that are doing the same thing, but investing 60 hours per week.

There is good news though, you can change the way you think and you can change your path. You are in control of your destiny and if any of the 5 points above apply to you, MAKE A CHANGE TODAY.

Success is something that anyone can achieve, but it is up to you as an individual to do it. You have all the help in the world here at WA, all the tools and training you need, now the only missing link is YOU.

Are YOU going to break the constant cycle of failure after failure? I hope so and I am in your corner.

I've read the 4 hour work week many times. I think what people miss is they think they can do that today. It took Tim a long time and lots of trial and error to get his business to where he only spends 4 hours a week. Plus he set up the business that way so he can go out and repeat the steps on another business. Believe me if I worked only 4 hours each week I'd go crazy within a month. To me the point of the book is to learn how to outsource parts of my business that make sense to do that thus giving me more free time to pursue - let's say starting an Internet Marketing business.

Oh and Kyle I loved this article. Thanks for the great points.

Yeah, it takes a while to get to point where you can potentially work 4 hours per week. Tim I am sure takes holidays, but I can assure you he probably works more than most...there is no way he works 4 hours per week now. This is hypothetical techniques that you could implement if you wanted to limit your time, but one thing that was not taken into consideration is that "outsourcing", a big part of that book takes a considerable amount of time (often times ending up to take more than doing it yourself).

To scale, you need to be able to become more efficient or to hire people to do jobs that you can't afford the time to do. We all get there as we grow, but you get what you put into your business and 4 hours per week isn't a reality and as you say, you don't want to be it a reality when you enjoy what you do. Something we should all strive for :)

Very poignant points here

Thanks Dom!

Thanks Kyle... very well said as always... always good to be reminded of "best practices" regarding Internet and affiliate marketing. We must never forget or lose sight of these principals..

Yeah, if everyone here always had this list in front of them and caught themselves when doing one of these things, they would be much more successful online.

Oh no Kyle! No push button? No shiny objects! And you mean my website is supposed to help people? What is this world coming to anyways? Then I have to work? Oh, okay. lol This post is good.

LOL, I know crazy isn't it. The process of creating an online business is simple when you break it down, but it just takes a bit of elbow grease to get a site up and running.

I agree to every single word. I have the problem with studying everything over and over again. Hell I have all WA's stuff in binders from 2008 and I went over it word for word 15 times. That does not make money. I had to stop and make myself a plan. I get consumed in things that I am intrigued by, which is not good because I will let everything else go-sleep, school, food, the gym..I have to make myself a strict itinerary and follow it. I work then test the work I have accomplished then I edit my work and test again...I have a few email opts that I have opted into because I like to see what type of information is being emailed to me. First, I get emails everyday. Second, the person tries and sells the ad as if it is their site but their link is not masked and every other day that same person tries to sell me something else. They provide bull shit..(Sorry) information and I look at the information and know that this person is not more experienced or even as experienced as I am, so they lose me. Instead, I send them a link to the products or sites I know work.

Cash Triggers is a perfect example. I received 30 emails from random people all saying how great this product was. Then, a report pops up shortly after saying that the system illegally places ads or pictures on sites (not sure about the details but I do know SCAM and FRAUD were in the main title. Everyone wants to make it big on the internet and back in the 2002-2005 the "Millionaire Affiliates" were just starting out and some got lucky with certain keywords and products but the competition was about 3/4 less than what it was and the others started off with no one to tell them what worked and what did not. These are the people whom you want as mentors today...There are "gurus" out there telling people you do not need any experience at all, you do not need to know how to write, and you do not need to worry about getting traffic. Why would anyone want to consider themselves an expert if they have no idea what they are talking about? Would you have surgery done by someone who's only experience was "Operation" the board game? You would be an idiot! Do you really expect someone with some type of education to read what you have to say when there are misspellings and improper grammar and sentence structure? Not likely. When I looked back a year ago on all the information that was given to me, I realized I did not follow hardly anything that I was told to do. Was I successful? Not really. Only when I followed what the tutorials told me to do, did I start to have success. Programs like these are designed to make you better, to help you form a Network with others who are doing the same things. If people utilize these tools and the people that are willing to help (there are more than you know), you will start to see success. Hard work, is not so hard after it has been implemented in your life and daily itinerary. If you do not enjoy it, then you will never be "great" at it. This can become a fun and interesting way to spend some of your time..

The fact of the matter is that anyone that defines themselves as a GURU likely isn't. Most people selling products online are doing so based on a hypothetical idea or one that they were "told" by a little birdie that works online. They actually don't have applied knowledge of their programs they are selling. Pathetic really.

Now that you are back here at WA though, I can assure you that you can BLOCK out all of the programs out there. Everything you need is here, take action continually and remain passionate about what you are doing. It will make life much more enjoyable. :)

I know I am ready for a change. The best part is that I have taken action to ensure that it taked affect! Thanks for the heads up Kyle.

No problem, it is never too late to change or "shift" your mindset. Every single person here has what it takes to succeed online, it comes down to those who act on what they know and what they learn. Regular and persistent action leads to success.

well guess i better quit then, because right now all i can think of is money, since i am in deperate need of it.and i dont have 60 hours a week to give to i.m.

Hi Joe, I feel for you my friend but would hate to see you quit. There's nothing written in stone that says you have to put 60 hours into this. In fact, in the three years that I've been a member of this awesome community, I've never been able to put in more than maybe 20-25 hours p/week. And that would have been a real good week. There's even been many times that I did nothing for months. The good news is that Kyle and Carson have made it so easy for us to promote WA now, and we can do it in ways that won't cost us anything but a bit of time and effort. And we'll be helping people that want to get into this type of business. If you haven't done so already, check out the "Earn your 1st $50" in the recommended training section. Hope it all works out for you.
Joe

That was a sheer example. But all the work, regardless of 1 hour per week or 60 hours per week will contribute towards success.

And terms of money, it will come if you can answer this question:

"How can I help someone in my niche?"

This is the path to success, if you think of only "how can I sell something?" you are going to come across as a sales person versus coming across as someone that truly wants to help others out.

You need money now, I know how you feel, but this is going to teach you how to make money and to continue to make money. Did you read Kyles blog

Simple truths and some good reminders of 'The way I want to play'

The more 'real' we can be about what it takes, the easier the path to success. The more passionate we are about what we are doing, the more effortless it becomes.

The truth is the truth and sometimes needs repeating. Success in the real world AND online takes hard work. There is no way around it. Which means I'd better get back to work. My website is not going to build itself, lol.

Online it is hard work, but it is easer than working for someone else. I would rather work online than do ANY day job. If you apply the same amount of work to your online business that you do to your offline work/hobbies, success is inevitable.

That sounds like the real world to me. Many people new to IM think of it as a quick fix, quick route to riches. For some reason, they don't understand that doing business online takes the same effort offline business takes. Frankly, that notion is promoted, not by you and Carson, but by other marketers who are trying to sell their latest software. I had that idea in the beginning too, because I believed the hype. It's falling into a trap. It didn't happen fast for me, and because of that, I thought I was an idiot. Bad feeling because I'm used to succeeding, but not without substantial effort. Thanks to both of you for your integrity.

Absolutely, it only compounds when you get the feeling that since it hasn't happened fast [success], that there is something wrong with your skills. In reality, that is the natural path to success.

People tend to compare their work online to an hourly wage. When you create something for yourself, the work you do now pays of later, not immediately. Some things won't pay off for a month, some things 6 months. However, it is all cumulative. :)
