Beer With Kyle: Custom Templates & Big Content Improvements Coming Next Week!
Hey everyone,
Today, I’m excited an update that many of you have been eagerly awaiting: the launch of our new structured content platform. We’ve spent the last couple of weeks polishing the user interface and refining design elements, and we’ve even improved the quality of content you’ll be able to generate through our AI author and design platform here at Wealthy Affiliate.
This update is slated to launch next week, and I can’t wait to give you a sneak peek of what’s coming.
First though, let's crack open this week’s beer.
This Week’s Beer: Broken Island’s Hazy IPA 🍺
Today’s beer is from Vancouver Island Brewing, and it’s called Broken Island’s Hazy IPA. Despite the snowy weather outside (about six inches of snow still visible through the window), this 6.0% ABV IPA comes through with its characteristic hazy, slightly sweeter profile. And yes, it’s served in my fancy WA glass from Las Vegas as per usual...a reminder of our awesome Vegas training sessions, where if you hit 150 sales in a calendar year, you’re invited on an all-expenses-paid trip! Let's get you there.
Key Features of the New Structured Content Platform
1. Custom Templates for Consistent, High-Quality Content
We’re introducing a powerful new feature within the site content area: structured templates. These templates are designed to help you create AI-generated content that follows a consistent, professional structure. For example, I’ve created templates for various content types like recipes—one template features a banana bread recipe complete with an image at the top.
- What It Does:
- Enables you to replicate a specific content style over and over (ideal for recipes, reviews, listicles, etc.).
- Ensures consistency across your website by maintaining uniform formatting, including bulleted lists, bolded text, and structured outlines.
2. Streamlined Template Selection and AI Integration
A new feature lets you choose a template right from the AI author platform. When you click the “Templates” button, you’ll see a variety of options that I and other team members have created. You can also create your own templates to match your unique style.
- How It Works:
- Select your desired template (for example, a recipe template for shortbread cookies or gingerbread cookies).
- The platform pre-selects the template and integrates relevant generative AI imagery based on your content’s context.
- You’re charged based on the word count—typically, you’ll only pay for the exact word credits (e.g., 622 words) used in your article, ensuring cost efficiency.
3. Enhanced User Experience for Content Creation
We’ve completely overhauled the UX for our AI author and design platform. Now, once you create an article using a template, you’re taken directly back to the site content dashboard. This makes it easy to manage multiple articles, whether you’re bulk writing or editing individual posts.
- Key Improvements Include:
- A smoother transition from the AI authoring process to the content dashboard.
- Clear progress indicators and a more intuitive interface that eliminates the old, cumbersome splash page.
4. Real-World Application Example
In the quick demo, I show how I recently created a recipe article using a template for shortbread cookies, and I create a brand new recipe using this template as well.
- Demo Highlights:
- The template automatically incorporated a relevant image, formatted the content with bulleted lists and a FAQ section, and maintained a consistent word count.
- I then switched to the conversational blogger mode (HTML version) and generated a draft that clearly followed my chosen structure.
- This process illustrates how you can quickly replicate successful content formats across different topics, saving you time and boosting efficiency.
What’s Next?
We plan to roll out this updated structured content platform next week, pending any final tweaks. This new tool is designed to empower you with greater control over your content creation process, helping you produce high-quality, structured articles with ease.
Whether you’re building a recipe site, a product review page, wanting to gain an advantage in the SEO space, or any other content-driven project, this platform is set to revolutionize the way you work.
Your Feedback Matters
I’d love to hear what you think! Here are a few questions to get the conversation started:
- What are your initial impressions of the new structured content platform?
- Which types of templates would you like to see available (e.g., recipes, reviews, listicles)?
- How do you think custom templates can improve your content creation process?
Please jump down into the comments below and share your thoughts and feedback. We are looking forward to getting this into your hands!

Hi Kyle. Impressive work from the WA Team. Congratulations.
Pickig in on your questions :
1. As mentioned my impression is more then enthousiastic. Do I understand right that the blogger mode fills in itself the content ? f.e. it fills in automaticly the ingredients and procedure to bake a chocolate pie starting from your apple pie template ? If this is the case ... well ... amazing.
2. If so I would like to see templates on the features and user specifications on AI software, specications on plants and flowers ( how to grow and keep them ),biography of artists, painters, musicians, etc.
3. With all that possible it means a boost in my content creation, activating ideas that are in the fridge due to time issues ( meaning creating additional domains with hub ) and by consequence upgrade to premium plus.

==> Exactly. I didn't create any of that content, it took my template, and created the brand new recipe based on that. :)
2. If so I would like to see templates on the features and user specifications on AI software, specifications on plants and flowers ( how to grow and keep them ),biography of artists, painters, musicians, etc.
==> You could create a template, that includes an article with all that detail, and the articles you build with it would also include those details.
3. With all that possible it means a boost in my content creation, activating ideas that are in the fridge due to time issues ( meaning creating additional domains with hub ) and by consequence upgrade to premium plus.
Absolutely. It is going to lead to a lot more efficiency, and more control than ever on your end as you can control the design of the content that you want to reproduce. ;)
well well ... I will 'experiment' a bit with that. Curious !
Again, well done from the team :-)
Hi Kyle
Can I choose to have more than one image in a template? Is it possible to chose the orientation of the image?
Does the image generation works for other topics? Does it require additional prompting or is it possible to prompt and refine the image?
For the listicles, I assume it will generate one image per listicle item?
You mentioned AI credits. I am assuming these are separate from the word credits?
Thank you.
It just depends on the number of images that you have in the template...you can add as many as you like. The images charge AI credits, 250 per image so the more you have within an article, the more image credits you will use.
And you do not need to prompt for images, the images are going to be included automatically as the system takes care of the proper prompting, and getting the image. So this takes out all of the thought that you need to put in (and extra effort) and speeds up the process drastically.
Wonderful news,
Let me see if I understand this.. When we say a template, it means that I want for example 4 headings and an image under title #3 with 1000 words.
Let us say that title number two when I am creating the template is "tips and tricks for XYZ recipe."
When I want to create another article for ABC recipe, will title #2 be "tips and tricks for ABC recipe." Or not necessarily and the most important thing that the template will concentrate on is having four titles, and AI will generate the titles based on the topic at hand.
I hope I was able to pose the question in a clear manner.
Yes, you can absolutely do that. You can copy the content in from the post/page that you want, and then emulate that with another topic. If you have images within the content, it will place relevant generative AI images into the article at the same location (if you want).
So how you are thinking it works, is how it will work. :)
Hey, Kyle, this is what I was waiting for, and more...
The first impression was the easier way to link AI authoring with content dashboard. I think that's a great improvement.
I'd like to see reviews templates released and made accessible because at the moment I am deeply writing review articles to promote Wealthy Affiliate, and later on, other products and services outside the WA.
Custom templates have been the new way to write faster and yet professionally on point. That's how I think (and know) they improve my content creation process, something I am also promoting, since most writers don't see AI as a tool.
The stigma around the use of AI is still high, and there are good reasons for that. However, ignorance (of what the tools are), and inexperience (never using them in person) are the main ones.
Thanks for the updates, looking forward to using these new tools.
John
Yeah, there are going to be review templates available, but within the platform you are going to be able to create any type of review you want, and then reproduce new content (on new products/services) using that custom template. So you are going to be in full control.
The stigma is high for sure, but pretty much everything that you touch these days has some level of AI influence. And the beauty of content platforms like the one at WA is that it creates high quality content, that feels much less like AI, and that you have lots of controls over...in particular now with templates/structure.
I think you are going to really love this platform. :)

This is so awesome!! I have been looking forward to this for a looooonnnggg time. I am so happy that coming back from having the Flu and being out for over a week coming back to this! Happiness!!
One question: if the AI generated image doesn't match at all what the article is, is there a way to get a refund or is it more just the credits are gone and better luck next time?
Thanks for all the work that you do for us and continue to do!
Angela M :)
I hope you are on the mend Angela, the flu is definitely going around in my area as well. You can choose not to have generative AI images, it is based on the surrounding context and if you want to use it, it is automated.
But if you don't want automated images internal to the content, you can remove the images from the template which is easy. It is generative AI imagery though, and it is not perfect every time. It is quite good though, and we are passing through some very high quality prompts.
