Hi! I was wondering if you ever got this issue fixed. I'm having the exact same problem but all the helpful info I find points to Google+ which has been shut down.

Unfortunately not.

I'm not sure what theme you are using but I will tell you that when I go in to do SEO after the article is posted, After putting in info for the post, a bit further down should be a "set featured photo" setting. Generally I opt for choosing a either one from the post or an entirely different, but related one. Fill in the description and mark it as selected.

This seems to work quite well and always shows up in the search engines with the photo along with the snippet.

I actually did that last night. I always set a featured image, but never put in tht keyword or description. I'm checking it out in a few days to see if it's updated on google.

Thanks, for trying to help, but it wasn't really helpful. I'm not looking to use blogger or create a Google site. Nor necessarily want it to be in Google Images. Just specifically what i posted. Just want thumbnails for posts that show up on Google.

This has nothing to do with "blogger" or a "google site".

Google controls what appears in Google search results. If you want your images in the SERPS then follow what Google says about how you can achieve that and provide descriptive Alt Text.

I did that. It still hasn't worked. Thank you for the tip though. I've been updating all the alt text and have a Google Plus account now

I am hoping someone can guide me in how to create a sort of a landing page for the blog within a my website. I do not want to change my homepage, but I'd like for a page to be

I think you make a static page in homepage settings but not 100% sure The static page will be your landing page.?

I don't want to change my home page. I think I'll just have to make a page with smaller blocks. Thanks though for trying!

Glad you got sorry couldn't be more help

Hi Christina
This may help

Thanks Vicki!

Hmm- not sure, now I have looked at it properly but in the box at the top of the page there are a couple of resources referring to landing pages
I typed in How do I create a landing page so worth you doing this for sure
Vicki

Aloha, Christina!
No ideas to fix it but it is a very good question. I would like to learn from the answers too.

Aloha, Jenna

Christina,
What are you trying to accomplish with the landing page is
the big question - I see you want to put excerpts of the blog
on it - but for what purpose would this be - did you try a
Google Search for free landing pages to create one of your
own that can be customized
Susan

Well I basically want it to have the most recent blogs in a grid or list style, There will be a total of 43 blogs for a specific journal. So I'd like to be able to have them listed on one page instead of a VERY VERY long menu.

Christina,
I got you - I am wondering you might have to create your own
with some customizing and that is going to take some time -
I have a problem with one of my websites with a menu I hate
but one of these days I will figure it out.
Have you considered doing a page and linking all the blog
posts to it by title?
Susan

Marley, that's actually exactly what I think I'll have to do

Christina,
It is a log of work but it will work :)
Sorry that there is not an easier way.

WA Affiliate Program
Updated

SO for some reason... I did purchase the annual, and now I'm starting to regret it. I haven't made ANY money on this site and I've been on it for one year.... tha's 49monthly!

I have tried many online programs and you do not find better value for money than here on WA.

As many others say - the important thing is to stick to the training and work hard at it.

Also, the skills you learn here are valuable in many ways. I have for example personally been able to get some great freelance job because of the skills I have learned here in addition to learning how to make money on my website.

And do not get offended if a few people seem harsh at times. It is a big community and we come from all over the world and communicate differently. The important thing is to focus on your progress and the learning.

If you wish to leave I wish you all the best. But if you wish to learn to make money online the training and tools here are amazing and it is possible to make it happen with patience and hard work.

Wish you all the best no matter what.

Mikael

Thanks, but is there a way to get a refund? I just give up on WA. I am not someone who handles condescending and rude people well, and it completely destroyed any hope I had in this amazing opportunity, which yes, I saw it, I knew it could work, but I got nervous. Do you know how to get a refund? or I just cancel and lose out the money, so far, that's all I'm finding.

No one should be rude to you, learning is some thing that takes time, do some thing you love and are passionate about and its not work at all then you will always have time for it.

Sorry to hear that Christina.

I do not know about a refund. You have to write to Kyle or Carson about that.

All the best

I'm not sure why your web site isn't making money, but some things I would check out first.
ONE
The Niche you have picked (is it some thing people really want and are interested in, should you choose something else).
TWO
Make sure that you are posting 4 to 5 times a week in your web site and make it key word rich from Jaaxy so google will rank your site.
THREE
You could use a sales funnel (check out BenjisDad on the internet, he is my mentor from Wealthy Affiliate and he is great, his name is Chris).
FOUR
Make sure you are posting on Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest & Google+ every post you do on your web site, you need to get your information out there so people can read it, maybe make an Ad to Promote your sales (part of sales funnel).

I hope I have been helpful and just remember we are all here for you so don't keep going if your not succeeding, keep the wheels turning and make some money.

If you have the money go yearly I did it will save you a lot (you will make this work I know you will).

Kind Regards
Samuel

Its all about staying active, do trainings, keep learning but most importantly keep posting and posting and posting content.
Then you will see a success, but its a lot, a very lot of work to do but with consistency its reachable.
Also don't waste energy thinking if you did waste the money - you spend it already and now use this time and energy to write a new blogpost for your website.
All the keys are here, we just need to keep using them to open one door after the other.
Good luck!

The bottom line is that you need to do the training; that's what you paid for, after all. That's the value of the program (and the key to your success).

The training is laid out simply, and builds in a step-by-step, logical way. If you happen to get stuck on something as you progress, you can ask a question of the community.

The more detailed and specific your question, the more likely you'll receive a helpful answer.

Hi Christina, this site and it's training is legit, I make a full time income with WA because I've gone through the training, asked questions and I personally feel that my investment in WA pays for itself and then some.

The key I always preach is: Do the training (online certification), follow the lessons, make sure you chase a niche you LOVE and put in the work.

Lots of people fail to see results in WA because they simply do not follow this proven approach, they seek to cut corners and try to skip stuff they shouldn't.

Not saying that this is what you're doing but I've consistently seen results again and again by following that formula. The first time is the hardest to get this done because you're new and don't know what to expect, the second time (second site) is easier, because you've been down that road.

I completely believe that this program has more tools and training than anyone else I've seen, I believe people are making real money on here. I just got lost on the way and it kind of sucks. I think after reading the remarks from most people, I really do need to dig in and start over, but this time, when I get frustrated try to get help. But, it's hard to do that for some people. I can completely define and thoroughly explain how the limbic system creates who we are with anatomy, biology, psychology, and chemistry....but I can't seem to make a penny here.
maybe I just haven't put my brain towards this.... since I spend so much time studying and researching for school, maybe this did take a backseat.
Everyone is echoing the same thing: keep trying, follow the training, etc.
I really believe I could figure it out, I just needed to be pointed in the right direction

He didn't insinuate that I'm stupid. You did. Please just leave me alone, I get it, you make money here, you're amazing congrats....but you weren't any help to me. All you did was make me feel stupid and like this was a huge mistake.

well once again you insinuate that I'm stupid. I did believe that I could start making money that way, so thanks for pointing out how stupid I am. This website was definitely a waste of time and money for me. Thank you for continuing to reply and show me that I don't belong on WA. I'm done.

Please could I ask, you say you have been here for one year, how much training have you done? I assume you have a website? Do you love the niche that you are working on? How often do you add content to it? What was the reason you joined in the first place? I think it is always important to figure out why you are here. What it is you want to accomplish, and figure out what drives you.

I think it's important to find something you love doing, because that will always drive you.

You said that you agree that the training is the best out there, so it can be hard to take, but it does come down to you. I think you may need to just figure out a few things about yourself first, as mentioned above.

Figure out your "Why" and what you want to achieve, and what do you really enjoy doing. I really hope that helps!!

I've found that when you reach a point where you're lost, It's best to restart the training from the beginning.

Sometimes when you're a newbie, it can be hard for the training to sink it at first. But go over it a 2nd or even a 3rd time if you must, and things will become clear :)

Hi Christina, I think I see the issue, you are looking at this whole pltform and trying to take it all in, this is not the right way to do it because it will be TOO overwhelming, believe me.

You need to do the MAIN training, where each lesson lays out what to do, step by step. Focus on one lesson at a time and that main training covers 95% of ALL the stuff within WA :)

There you go. It seems like you learned how to optimize your site so that it at least appears on Google. Add Sense is good as this,as far as I know doesn't require a person to buy, it just requires a click on a link. Maybe you should sign up to or research some affiliate programs that are in your niche and if you are getting clicks to your site then eventually you will get clicks on your affiliate links and you will earn more money. My advice is to stick with it and you will get results

Best of luck

Thanks Dave, I appreciate that. I think most of the people had the right idea, restart my training and then move forward. I just got so overwhelmed and lost for the last few months that I just basically gave up, then I decided to bite the bullet on the annual membership, but then almost immediately after was like, "have I made a mistake?" I am glad to know that there really is a chance for me to turn this around.

Dont feel bad i have been here off and on for a few years i never got it i was always getting frustrated i wanted the quick fix i paid last year on black friday and still have not done much but like you i dont think i put time into it because i was to busy with my corporate tax training but in last couple of weeks i did start training here again and for some reason i get it now what WA show you how to build for the long run not for short cuts plus i have seen other programs that look like WA BUT CHARGE thousands and they probably got there knowledge here and will never tell you and i feel your pain about not being able to talk to someone its like little men hiding behind the curtain but then you have to look at their side they would be getting a million calls a day every time some one gets frustrated i think if you want make money take there affiliated training first step by step i did not join here to promote WA but guess what i put the blackfriday link on my facebook page and made 150 last nite and hope fully a couple more people will sign up by midnite today so after building 200,000 on business credit i am going to use some of that credit to promote WA PLUS I BUILDING corporate credit class for 500 i am not going to charge anything here ON WA i am putting course together right now for WA ALL I WANT HIS FEED back to make my course better when i go live next year so look out for my course by end of year and i just learned i could even do training here just because i am paying attention i see you thought some one was insinuating you were stupid i dont think he means that, the same thing happen to me a few years ago i was frustrated and thought they were thinking i was stupid also but now i see your post i was laughing because i was at the same point that you were at but i think the person meant well so sorry about long post so good luck relax and go step by step.

I would suggest jumping back into the training and follow through with each step to keep building out your site. I found through out the training you are given tasks which help you to interact with the community and build relationships. People really are happy to help.

I will also take a look at your site soon, just have to duck out now, and happy to help you where I can. I’ll send you a PM once I’ve had a look.

As you go through the training you can also ask for help in live chat, members are really responsive and for techy issues Site Support are amazing.

Hang in there, everything you need to be successful is here.

Thanks Heidi, I really appreciate it so much. I just feel like I wasn't sure where to start and the buyers remorse had me all stressed out. I really love travel and so all I kept thinking was that this $300 I just spent on WA could have bought me a roundtrip ticket to Iceland from where I am.... so that pit in my stomach was like, I gave up a sure thing (trip to iceland), for something that hasn't even broken even yet. But most of the people who responded to my post have given me hope! Thank you

I'm sorry to hear of your experience so far. Have you been engaging in live chat, asking questions and so on? Have you been going through the trainings and searching for answers in the search field up top? I'm just surprised that no one has helped you and want to make sure you're taking advantage of the resources available.

How much time have you put into your site? Are you posting quality content on a regular basis? Have you done any review posts and added your affiliate links?

My experience has been very different from yours. I'm constantly greeted my people willing to help where they can.

Feel free to reach out any time. I'm happy to help.

Thanks Merlynmac, I just got lost somewhere during building my sites. Maybe I did too much too fast and got myself mixed up (I had originally made like six web sites and that overwhelmed me so I focused on two of them) and I've made money from ad sense, but not a lot. As for time into my websites.... I can't even tell you. I spent a lot of time, but I did give up and have just been paying for it. I guess I wasn't even sure how to ask the right questions or anything. I guess I shouldn't say "no one" helped me, I just didn't want to single out my referrer, because maybe I didn't do my part either, I just really want this to work. I believe it can, but I haven't been able to do it, and I'm thinking maybe I just can't.

I totally understand...you might have bitten off quite a bit. My honest, gut feeling, is to start with one site and get the steps down, wrinkles ironed out and so on.

If possible pick a niche that you're passionate about..it makes writing the posts and what not easier/more fun.

seems like you have put a lot of work into your website. it may just need some slight tweaks to change both your business and your perspective.
What was your niche? If you want to share your URL, I can have a look. Not saying I can help you make it profitable over night.
But I can at least have a look for you.
Also, if I was you - I would be asking your referrer for support.
There are ways we can turn the situation around, but you need to do what is right for you.
If that means, stopping then that is the right decision for you.

Let me know via PM if you want help

~John

John Thank you. this was REALLY helpful, thank you so much.

Sorry to hear you're having buyer's remorse. I am hesitating buying because I'm not a hundred percent sure either.

If you really want to change your mind I'm guessing you can contact site support and have them cancel. You can always cancel your membership anyway. That being said, If you're going to stick around wealthy affiliate you have decreased your monthly payment to $25 a month instead of $49 a month by going with the Black Friday special.

That's why I did that, That's just where I'm at.... like am I going to work to do it? There's so much to do and all I feel like I did was waste my money because I guess I'm the type of person who needs some guidance before I set out on my own. I built my sites and the only money I've made is from google ad sense, which is fine, but it doesn't balance out.
I think I am going to keep it, because I can SEE THE OPPORTUNITY but, I guess I just expected to actually get help, but as SteveMand pointed out, I've only done certain trainings and honestly.... I'm not sure where I went wrong, I may have overlooked other training when building my websites. If that makes sense?
****it is an AMAZING deal PERIOD**** so I'm not arguing that, or the value here, the value is high..... my motivation is waning because I feel like I need help, but honestly don't know where to start.

Hi,
I'm just trying to think of your position as if it were my position.
If you think that this affiliate marketing thing could maybe be something you want to give a go, just take a step back and breathe for a little bit. I would choose one website to work on and develop. Go through the entire training with that one website get it built up, and get a lot of posts on there.

I know there's a lot of people here that have either made money quickly or make it seem like they did, but it doesn't happen that way for everyone. I've had my website nine months and I have about 52 posts and I've made $35. I keep telling myself that there are 644 million different websites on the Internet so of course it's going to take quite a while to get people to visit mine.

When you get stuck or need help, visit the chat room. Many of us there are incredibly helpful and will not be rude or condescending.

Yes, you will bump into those that are, but I sometimes think those rude people are just that way in life in general. When people are rude to me I just ignore what they're saying and pay attention to the other people that are being kind.

Rude people are kind of like children- any attention is good attention, and if you don't give them the attention they seek they will eventually stop (kind of like a child that is crying but gets no attention- they will stop because it's not getting them what they want).

If you are stuck with your yearly membership just take a breather after this high intensity time here. Regroup, rethink, and try to come it with a fresh open mind.

You can use your year to learn what wealthy affiliate has to offer as well as its community members and after your year is over and if you're still sick of it here :-) you can transfer your website to a different host.

I'm sure you must be completely overwhelmed with all this and I'm sorry that you are experiencing this level of frustration.

You need to look inside your WP post to see if there is a "featured image" option. If there is, you'll want to fill that out, basically tell which image you want to show when that post is featured somewhere like your homepage.

OH!!! thank you and I actually did see that too! I appreciate the help :)
