Instant Stress Relief

Hello, Everyone

I have been working hard on my training. My place of employment has moved us into ten hour days. The schedule has been in place since April. And puts an extreme amount of stress on me Trying to balance work, family and my business have been a battle. So today, I decided that I would ride my motorcycle for my instant stress relief.

Getting aboard my iron horse and putting the wind in my face does the trick for me. I don't know what relieves your stress but when things start to become frustrating. Get away from what you're doing for awhile. Do something completely different. You will feel refreshed when you return to your tasks.

Today I rode my bike 145 miles along the Ohio River. The weather was great. The morning temperature was 70 degrees and warmed up in the afternoon to 82 degrees. The wind was blowing out the west about 6-8 mile and hour. Nothing but blue sky above.

Riding down the highway 25 miles or so, I stopped at a Dairy Queen to have myself a banana split blizzard. After that, I rode another 20 miles to General Butler State Park. Pulled into the park and sat at a picnic table watching the ducks and the fisherman. The birds singing in the trees filled the air. A warm breeze was rippling the water as it made its way across the lake. The serenity of the park washed all my troubles away.

I made my way back to where I parked my motorcycle by way of the trail cutting through the woods. Walking through the old forest, trees standing like skyscrapers 50 to 90 foot tall. Thinking to myself these trees been around a long time. Trying to imagine what they have seen in their lifetime. Did they see Indians? Or maybe the first settlers. Could they have seen Danial Boone walk this way?

Then I came across a tree that had been laid down by a storm. It was being cut up to remove from the trail. I stopped and tried to count the rings. I counted hundred and fifty rings, and I still had about an inch more of rings to count. This particular tree stood for over hundred years, incredible.

The trail ended back at the parking lot where I climbed aboard my bike. Found and followed the route circling back to my home. Riding through farms and the road ran along a railroad track. The day was perfect. The trip was perfect. I arrived home completely relaxed and ready to get back to work.

So, if working and things around you seem to be piling up. Climb aboard your iron horse. Get away, take a break, you'll be more productive when you do.

Take a break!! Feel better!! Be More Productive!!

What is your instant stress relief?

Thanks for stopping by,

Kevin

Good advice Kevin. There are many things we can do to alleviate stress. I recently wrote an article about it called, How to Destress

Let me know what you think of it. Thanks, Tom

Hello, Tom, interesting, article. Well written and informative.

Thank you Kevin. Glad you think so. Tom

Sounds like you had a wonderful day, Kevin. I like to sit by water - the beach or lake, and watch whatever is happening around me. At other times I sit and watch a comedy series. It is so important to do something different. It's very refreshing.

Good post.

Thanks for commenting. Best wishes for your success here at Wealthy Affiliate!

A day on a motorbike is great for stress relief. I do not have a bike anymore so now stress relief is usually acheived by going for a run. Making myself really tired through exercise usually works well for me.
Jojo

It's about whatever works for you.

Your iron horse is really handsome, Kevin. You know...New York is not too far from Ohio....your horse would really like New York!

Thanks for your comment. I would love to take a ride to upstate New York.

Variety makes a difference Kevin!

Agreed! Mike!
