Hey Kar,
There are several backup methods: Full Backup With a Plugin Backup your WP website files without plugin or FTP in 40 sec Backup Your Website With FTP The first option creates a hand zip, while the other two options leave you with all of the same files and folders that are now on your website.
Now ... if you were to need an older version of a plugin for ANY reason, the folders and files backup version would be handy at allowing you to retrieve a plugin (or any other file for that matter!).
However, if you want to backup your website before making ANY changes (a MUST DO!) then the backup plugin might suit your needs best.
Hope this helps you.
Thank you so much! I appreciate your assistance. Perhaps I am trying to move too fast. Much of this language is new to me at the age of 68, but I will slow down as I work to understand what it all means. The second and third option you provide sound easiest to me, but I will read them again tomorrow morning when I am fresh. Thank you again!!!

Hi, Kar.
In addition to the excellent advice given by those who commented before I did, I'd like to add this:
Your referrer (the person who's affiliate link you clicked to get to WA) should be a person you can rely on heavily for any help you need.
Your referrer is Laetyn. As he said in his greeting message on your profile, you can ask him a question on his profile page. (Free members can't PM).
But, now that you're a premium member, you CAN PM and that's the best way to reach him.
It's easy to overlook a notification of a profile comment - it's not possible to overlook that bright red 'you've got a PM' icon, lol.

I started a couple of weeks ago. It can be easy to feel overwhelmed but if you take it a step at a time and follow their instructions it's won't be that difficult. Good luck on your journey.
Hi,
First of all, I'd like to say welcome to WA. This is definitely a great learning center. One of the good things about being here is it doesn't matter if you have very little technical knowledge, there is always someone to help you with any question you have. Most of the people on here, myself included, started in the same position you're currently in. So no worries, you made a good choice joining WA.
As for where to begin, I recommend you start with the CERTIFICATION Courses and work your way through all the 5 levels. That will get you well on your way to building your won profitable website.
Yes, it may seem overwhelming at first with everything going on. But once you get the hang of it, you'll learn how to find your own "quiet corner" and work on your own success.
Good luck to you on your journey.
Welcome! So the first thing you need to do is go to Get Start green colour on the left and follow step by step! :)
