hello all! Unfortunately I need to take a financial break from WA, I am sad to say this as I love this site and all the wonderful people I have met here!

I am wondering

Hi Kitty
I apologize
I was told differently to what Marion has put hence my comment and I hope it works out for you :)
All the best
Vicki

Thank you, Marion and I bookmarked it as instructed! :)

Transfer it before you leave Kitty other you will no have access to it

She will have 30 days to back up and move the website and there's no need to transfer the domain name.

I've left a couple of links above and Kyle has chimed in on one of those threads too.

I was told something different Marion- good to know

It can be so annoying when someone has given you the wrong information 👌

Yes frustrating as well as you think you have been taught correctly
Hey onward we go again :)

I finally got approved for google adsense, but I hate the ads being in the middle of my blog posts, so i disabled the in-feed ads. Now there are no ads on my page.

Just a thought. I know you want to put them in the sidebar, but remember that with a lot of traffic coming from mobile devices, those ads will never be seen. It may not be a major deal, just something to think about.

Hey Kitty,

Searching WA, I see another member recently asked a similar question. Perhaps reading through the comments you may discover a resolve for your issue.

Hope you find this helpful.

thank you!

Google will place the ads pretty much where they want to. They have an annoying way of placing them right in the middle of your content and the main reason I was very hesitant to even install it in the first place. However, in the spirit of following the training I did.
I believe with the plug-in Ad Inserter you can assign ad placements to one specific location. I thought I did that but I find ads all over the place.
I doubt seriously I'll ad them in my next website.

Yeah, I tried to put them on my sidebar following the tutorial. I ended up deleting them off of my page. I'd rather have the site make a little less money then have it be all spammy.

I'll try a few more times to get it in the side bar. Thanks for the help!

I'm trying to either turn a page into a post, or create a new post that doesn't go onto my blog roll. Does anyone know how to do this?

Hi Kitty,
These pieces of training may be of help to you, hope this helps.

Thank you, this is so helpful!

Another option Caitlin is publish it as a page not as a post, then it will not show on the blog roll.

But if you do that way, you will not have a comment section at the bottom of it, because only posts have the comment section automatically added at the end.

Hope this helps,

Calvin

My pages have a comment section. Could it be that certain themes don't allow page comments...

We keep reading that pages don't have comments sections but both websites we have created contradict this and very definitely have comments sections on each page. Not quite sure what is going on.
Colette and Philip

Thank you, it does!

I agree with you, Calvin about publishing it as a page instead of a post.

Pages can have comments if the theme automatically does this otherwise they can be enabled in the settings.

Marion to the rescue...thanks for chiming on and clarifying.

Quick question for you Marion, as Colette and Phillip mentioned about that they have two themes that produces a comment section for their pages is this a theme dependent feature.

I know I had one theme, when I was swapping them around, that had the form 7 comment (I think that was its name) plug in and that produced a comment section for pages

Do some themes offer this and others don't?

Yes, Calvin, some themes do and some don't but if you want comments on pages then that can be turned off or on as I show in the video.

Yes, you can change the date in the edit settings so it won't appear on your recent blog roll. Also, you have the option on your dashboard of changing the settings near the bottom.

Thank you!
