Okay - I keep in mind that I am still very new to all this and am really NOT an idiot! However, this morning I had a red error message saying there was a problem with the doma

I found out how you click on the cart button in the domains manager and click on the cross to cancel in the drop down menu
that would do it

Hey Dawn! I'm not certain - the only people that would be able to help you with this would be support (or Kyle).

If you are looking for a refund, I don't think that will be possible...

If you want to release the name you can contact your registrar (the company where you bought it).

Everybody buys a wrong domain name once in a while... ;-)

Grtz,
Bert

How do I cancel a domain I just purchased?

Is this just a matter of waiting for the domain to be "approved"?

Did you buy it via WA Site Domains?

If so, do you have a free Siterubix site set up that you wish to move to the new domain?

You may still have to click the "move" button and select which website should redirect to the new domain. That part may not be automatic.

SiteDomains is a new feature at WA and not many people have had a chance to use it yet.

Perhaps put in a hosting support ticket and let us know what happens so others can learn how to do this as well. ~Jude

Sometimes it just takes a bit of time to process and propagate.

Ian, you KNOW by now how impatient I am:)

Domains don't need to be approved -- if you registered it, it's yours.

Did you register your domain with WA? If not, you'll need to allow some time for WA's servers to see the domain's DNS settings pointing to their addresses (http://ns1.mywahosting.com and http://ns2.mywahosting.com). This time is known as "DNS propagation delay" and can vary quite a bit.

Once the DNS adresses have been set at your domain name registrar, it can take from as little as an hour (sometimes even less) to as long as a day for WA's servers to see those settings.

You'll know that WA's servers are seeing those settings when you can click on the siterubix SiteBuilder and create a site (using the "On a Domain I Own" tab). If the settings haven't propagated yet, you'll be unable to proceed with creating the site.

Thanks

Hey gang - If my new domain can host a number of websites, why did I just get a message that moving my site to my new domain will erase anything that currently exists on that d

Hey Dawn - a new domain can't host a number of websites. Each domain is intended for only one website.

A *hosting account* can host a number of websites, but typically it's only one website per domain. Which is likely why you're getting a message saying that anything will be erased if you're trying to transfer multiple sites onto one domain name.

okay - good to know

I don't know exactly from which host you transfer your site, but here is a tutorial for backing up your website

Thanks Loes

Can some of you with successfull sites, please send me links to them, so I can get some idea what I'm striving for - I like to learn from the best!

Hey Dawn! You'll find that many members here are hesitant to post their successful sites in fear that they'll be "ripped off" and copied by other members (something that's really not as big of a deal as it's made out to be). The better thing to do would be to look at some of the established members' profiles here at WA and look at the "websites" section underneath their profile picture on the right of the screen. That should give you a pretty good idea of what you're aiming for!

Oops, guess that's faux pas! How do I find out who the established members are? Anyway, having more trouble today and sent you an email regarding same - DARN had such a good day yesterday!.

Here are some successful members here, but I am not sure if they post their sites in their profile.
