Today, I Passed My Driving Test!
Hello everyone,
I just wanted to share some good news with my Wealthy Affiliate family. Today, I passed my driving test on my second attempt and got a driving license!
Two weeks ago, I shared on my blog how disappointed I was after failing on my first driving test. I was very nervous on my first test and made a mistake. I took 3 extra driving lessons before my second attempt.
It was a lucky coincidence I found an excellent driving test anxiety hypnosis video on YouTube two days ago. I listened to the video 4 times during the 48 hours before my second driving test. It's amazing how much that helped me to relax during the test!
Every time I felt nervous, I thought to myself "I'm a confident and competent driver" (that's the positive suggestion given in the video) and focused on just driving. There were a couple of situations I was a bit insecure about, but I did well and passed the test.
From this experience I can tell, that mental training really helps. It helps if you think about something you want to succeed at, and imagine in your mind how you would perform when you succeed, and how you would feel. This is the same kind of training that top athletes do, and it works for learning to drive or anything at all.
I'm still going to continue this kind of mental training now that I have a license, because I want to become a better driver and drive as safely as possible.
By the way, I'm 34 years old. It's not as easy to learn new skills at this age compared to when you're 18. I had zero experience with cars or driving before I started driving school this year. But you're never too old to learn new skills, if you really want to achieve something!
Now I'll be able to enjoy the wonderful freedom that a driving license brings you, especially when you live in an area without public transport like I do. I'm not used to driving my husband's car yet, because it's different from the car I've been driving at the driving school. But I'll just keep driving!

Kristi,
Now that is an achievement to be proud of.
My daughter took 5 attempts for just the theory element... passed the actual test first time, but it took over a year of weekly lessons. I know how nerve racking it is.
So celebrations all round..
Well done 🥂

Thank you, Cordelia! Wow, over a year of weekly lessons. I took 18 lessons before I passed. Only 10 driving lessons are required before taking the driving test, but 10 wouldn't have been enough for me.
Flipping heck.... you don’t live in the UK do you? They seem obsessive her.
It’s a very expensive business to take a test. For a start should you fail on the theory, your have to wait a mo the before they can re apply so it’s a Month between failed exams before reapplying.
Long old process but well done for nailing it... 👍
Congratulations!
You will never regret learning this skill and enjoying the freedom it gives you.
Good work 😃
