Internet Marketing Tips You Can Learn From McDonald's
Marketing is an interesting thing to watch. You can get a lot of ideas from brands who rely on marketing to keep their brands alive and relevant to current times.
This is especially true of McDonald's, an American fast food hamburger company established in 1940.
80 years later, they are one of the world's largest international restaurant chains serving over 69 million customers daily across 100 countries.
Today, on March 8, 2018, McDonald's turned their famous M logo icon upside down.
It's a W to celebrate International Women's Day.
They have changed their logo across all of their digital channels, including the website, Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.
One store in California even had their actual restaurant sign changed to reflect the W.
To celebrate across multiple restaurants, approximately 100 stores have special bag stuffers and crews wearing branded shirts and hats.
McDonald's move to capitalize on a national holiday has put them in the spotlight. They are receiving natural publicity from news and media channels.
This is considered free press as a way to reach audiences that McDonald's may not have reached otherwise.
This is a good marketing example of not just being a promotional ad.
If you have an online business or are learning how to build one, then you are in the marketing business.
Don't let that scare you though. The training within Wealthy Affiliate by Kyle and team members teach you how to know your audience and speak to them.
That is all marketing really is. There's just 1 Million + 1 ways to do it. Perhaps that what's scary about marketing. But that is really the opportunity of it.
I think this McDonald's campaign has done a great job of making women feel good and appreciated today. And they are getting widespread media coverage about it.
Without being promotional, McDonald's name and brand are being heavily promoted.
What do you think of McDonald's Celebrating International Women's Day marketing campaign?

That is brilliant!! Thanks for sharing Kim! In the same way we could use the WA logo in celebrating Women's Day. WA was always the Women's Association in our Church. ;)
