Nothing like waking up to the Envato Market Affiliate Program Request DECLINED email first thing in the morning.

Envato Pty Ltd has declined your request to work with the campaign Envato Market for the following reason: Not enough traffic.

My reaction? Well, just insert a few of your favorite curse words here.

My favorite word started with a B and has 7 characters in plural sense. The same word is used to define a female canine animal, especially a dog. I obviously used it for another definition.

I chose to apply to the Envato Affiliates program because the website offerings can help my audience.

Afterall, they do invite you to join their affiliate program!

Supposedly, this new Envato Market Affiliate Program is now bigger, better and more powerful than ever.

They say, "Come Join Us!".

I thought, "Ok, Great. Let's do this!".

Well, don't ask me to confirm if this affiliate program is any good or not. I certianly would not know!

I was declined because I do not have enough traffic on my website.

At first, I was obviously a little PO'd. (Just google that if you do know what that means).

I mean, I even went back to the affiliate program page to check their requirements.

There is absolutely no mention anywhere on the page that website traffic is a requirement to be accepted. Is it in their 1000 page Terms of Service (TOS) Agreement?

The email just says, not enough traffic.

No indication of how much traffic they are looking for to accepted as Envato Affiliate Program Affiliate.

No, thank you for applying. No, sorry, please apply again when you have X amount of traffic...

Fortunately, I was picked up by our fellow WA member's posts.

After reading and rehashing what I've already read, I know what I need to do.

Jerry's latest post, A Very Important Message For ALL Beginners! was my first read to pick me up. A great reminder that this stuff takes work! Treat affiliate marketing like a job!

Linda's post, Front-Loading the Work, provides a great plan for showing the people behind the Envato Affiliate Program that they will be sorry for my declined email someday.

So, the reason I post this is to prepare you to be declined for affiliate programs.

Especially, for the Envato Affiliates program, if you have little website traffic.

Let the declined email fuel your fire. Let it the be the gas to ignite your drive and motivation.

Especially, if you are a new affiliate and have a new affiliate marketing website.

Stay motivated.

Find another program that is better. Take it from me and my personal experience this morning.

That is what I am going to do.

Have you ever been declined? How did you bounce back?

Any alternatives to the Envato Affiliates or Affiliate Market Program?

Thanks for listening.

Try the AppSumo affiliate program. It's managed at Flexoffers. They have a lot of value in comparable verticals. I don't know why that happened to you with Envato though. I personally don't know why any company would turn down someone who wants to promote them for free unless they look like an obvious scammer.

Great recommendation! Thank you. I’ll check out appsumo. So far I’ve been declined by Envato and Udemy due to not enough web traffic. Guess they don’t want to manage affiliate accounts that may not make any sales. I agree with you though. Being declined leaves a bad taste in my mouth and makes me want to use other programs. Thanks for chiming in here.

I've been in both of those from the early days of my site, so I'm really surprised about them declining you. I don't think I had a lot of traffic when I was accepted. Which affiliate network? I know Udemy is on Rakuten and others. Maybe try a different one? Or, ask them why and keep the email so you hold them to it. I always ask why if I'm declined from any of them, and if it doesn't make sense, don't back off. Go up their chain of command. Sometimes, the people at the bottom of the chain don't realize how they're making a bad decision for the company. Tell them the sales you know you can make, the methods you'll be using and the results you're sure you can get, and follow thru.

Super helpful tips! I will try these going forward. Thank you!

Awesome! Don't get discouraged. It's their loss if they decline you. We know you've learned from the best, so you're not going to be a dormant affiliate regardless of where you go. They're probably cautious because they haven't seen massive results in their programs yet, but prove them wrong (even if you don't have personal results to show for it yet).

Hey Kim,
Well what can I say. They will be sorry one day when you succeed without them!!

Tried and True

Elaine

Yes! Thanks for the support and encouragement Elaine.

In my life I was rejected many times, my body is full of moletones due to the falls I have suffered. What is my feeling: Every day I LOVE myself a little more, very proud to always follow my way.
I hope to help you!
Claudio

Thanks for encouragement Claudio. Ok good. I just needed to vent and prepare everyone for the same. Thanks!

Good Post there a lot of them out there, the best is right here WA, . I am tired of these people showing High-class cars & Houses, and a lot of half-naked women, or jumping out of airplanes and having fun, Ok I sign to Learn something not to see all that.

I know that this is very depressing for you but look up, better days are coming. Cheer up! and all the best to you.

Yes! Thanks Elores.

Kim, don't worry about one, there are hundreds of others out there you can join, or was that a specific one you wanted to join

Thanks Dave! It’s a creative market. A place to buy WP themes, digital creative assets and services. I’ll find other alternatives. Thanks for chiming in here.

Takes a while for sites to grow...

Happens all the time.
Very unpleasant.

Yea. *sigh*. Very unpleasant, indeed. Thanks for chiming in here Fleeky. We all need to be prepared for being declined. It stings a little at first though.

There are so many other affiliate programs that compete with Envato. I know there's http://CanvasHQ.com on ShareASale.

You can ask the merchant to reconsider your application, and make your case about why you think you would be a good publisher. However they are on Impact, so don't expect assistance from the network; they don't offer that in order to cut costs.

Ah, SUPER Jeannine!

Huge thanks for this option. I'll check it out. Thanks again.

Interesting info about Envato using Impact software. Thanks for the additional insights here.

I'll have to sit on the idea of considering using the Envato affiliate program. I'm more tempted to check other options since they are not very clear about their affiliate requirements. No telling what else they are not saying.

Aloha Kim! Thank you for posting this. I'm not familiar with Envato Affiliates. The Affiliate Program I enjoy the most, besides WA, healed my sore wounds from a company that collapsed in 2007. I was a part of my company in 2003 and for a year and then came back 11 years later because they continued to be the Best of the Best companies on the planet in my humble opinion.

Hey Visiondancer. Thanks :)

Sounds like you found a really good affiliate program! You are obviously not missing much with Envato Affiliates or the Envato Marketing Affiliate Program.
