I just feel like it is too long and too personal. Kind of all over the place. Trying to get my point across without boring people to death!!
As for the training here saying you need to be around 1500 words I don't agree with that at all.
Say what you have to say, don't worry about length - mine is just shy of a 1000 words.
I am very excited and I got way agead of myself.. I purchased a domain too soon... So I am trying to make it work. I should have watched the training video first... I did not , so now I am working backwards per say.... Frustrating but my own fault....
I believe so like mentioned in training you want to aim for about 1500 words in a post i usually averge btween 500 to 800 the about me page is aimed to build trust and not to tell them everything about you just make it relevant
yes thats fine so longs its relevant to your niche and allows people to know you and trust you 900 is perfect

Is it possible to make the about page too long?

Kimberly,
If it's about you, how can it be boring? :-)
Anyway, I agree with pretty much what everyone else is saying. If you feel it rambles a bit, try and "tighten" it up if you can, but otherwise I wouldn't worry too much about it. The whole point of the About page is to show people you're a real person. And let's face it, a lot of us ramble; it's human nature.
As far as a set length, I have seen pages with six or seven hundred words that read like stereo instructions and I couldn't get through three sentences. And I have also seen a page or two that were several thousand words long and read so much like a novel I wanted more when I got to the end.
So, I think you'd be just fine following leoemery's suggestion: just say what you have to say and forget the rest.
Good luck and keep us posted on your progress.
